    Description

The Security Investigation Database (SID) is a COTS personnel security application in a USAID virtualized environment that can support USAID's business requirements and processes. The goal of SEC is to replace the CRIS application with a new COTS system to improve quality of service, reduce processing time, automate manual tasks, and be capable of supporting future mandatory requirements and mandates as defined by ODNI. SEC requires a system that will communicate with the office of Human Resource (HR) and other offices in the Agency that require the same information.

    Description

This dataset mainly includes the basin, river, sampling point, date, species, methods of use, and quantity of the survey area. The dataset is provided by the River Situation Survey Database Management System of the Water Resources Planning and Testing Institute of the Water Resources Agency, which integrates the river situation data completed by the Water Resources Agency over the years, and serves as a unified management and query website for river situation survey data. It is hoped to serve as reference data for river water resources management, ecological environment maintenance, and environmental improvement planning needs for river area structures. The key content of this dataset lies in the species, locations, and time of reptiles, allowing users to further analyze the spatiotemporal distribution of species. According to the operation points of the river situation survey, the survey should last for at least one year, with at least one survey per quarter, and the survey frequency should try to avoid using adjacent months as data for two quarters. The survey time should pay attention to the breeding period of reptiles to avoid choosing inactive periods for the survey.

    Description

Cavitation inside fuel injection nozzles affects the atomization process of injected liquids. It is necessary to understand and model the process for realizing an appropriate injection strategy for an efficient combustion. As the nature of the fuel injector, it has contraction, divergent and bending parts from small to large scale. These geometrical characteristics of the nozzle have an effect on the cavitation phenomena even if it is kind of a small manufacturing variation. However, a simultaneous contained database for the transient cavitation structure especially inside the real-scale nozzle and the nozzle geometry has not been established well. Therefore, parametric investigations have been done on our manufactured transparent nozzles. And the results will be shared step by step for the cavitation model evaluations and developments.

In this database, the results in below on each nozzle are uploaded. 1. High speed imaging of the transient cavitation structure. 2. Nozzle geometry which modified as close as the measured shape. 3. Samples of mesh files and simulation results (PDF).

The purpose of this database is to provide the data to someone who intends to understand and model the cavitation phenomena. This research work is financially supported by German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG) within the project DI 591/29-1.

First of all, please read "About_this_database.pdf".

    Description

Before building new structures engineering companies carry out a site investigation to find out the quality of the ground (strength and depth of soil and to see if rock and or groundwater is present). These investigations involve digging holes such as trial pits and boreholes. The results are written up in a report. The reports usually contain details of the project, borehole logs, test results, site map with the location of the site, conclusions and recommendations for the design of the structure. A borehole is any hole drilled or dug into the ground. The material (soil and or rock) from the hole is collected and tested in a laboratory to find out the structure and type of the soil and or rock beneath the ground. A borehole record or log is a written description of the material that comes out of the ground as a result of drilling a borehole. Geotechnical boreholes are usually shallow (0-30m). Trial pits are usually very shallow (up to 4m deep) but cover a wider area. They also cost less. This map shows the location of the Geotechnical Site investigations carried out in Ireland that have been submitted to the GSI from engineering companies. It is a vector dataset. Vector data portray the world using points, lines, and polygons (areas). The Site investigation data is shown as polygons. Each polygon holds information on: Report number (unique report ID), Title of the report, Town, County, URL (Link to download a PDF of the full report).

The Information Center for the Environment (ICE), in cooperation with the United States Man and the Biosphere program (U.S. MAB), the Man and the Biosphere (MAB) program of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the National Biological Information Infrastructure, the U.S. National Park Service, and the Biological Resources Division of the U.S Geological Survey, has produced databases containing documented, taxonomically standardized species inventories of plants and animals reported from the world's protected areas.

This effort, originally the Biosphere Reserve Integrated Monitoring (or BRIM) program, was conceived in 1991, at the EuroMAB Congress in Strasbourg, France. Since then, regular updates and corrections to the databases have continued, and data from a large number of protected areas which are not part of the UNESCO network of Biosphere Reserves have been added. The databases available via the Internet continue to grow, both in terms of the numbers of records they contain and in the frequency with which these databases are accessed, and now represent the world's largest publicly-accessible repository of standardized, taxonomically harmonized, documented biological inventory data. The ICE databases are updated monthly.

In order to better discriminate between the BRIM database derived exclusively from sites which have been recognized by UNESCO as Biosphere Reserves, and the larger ICE Biological Inventory Database derived from a wide variety of protected areas and sources, ICE provides separate links from its Web Site: one for Biosphere Reserves; and another for all Protected Areas. Together, these databases provide access to all of the data from the world's protected areas.

    Description

Forensic investigation of disasters (FORIN) is a conceptual framework and research guide that focuses on the investigation of root causes of disaster risk and occurrence. Underlying the FORIN conceptual framework is the understanding that historical processes, operating asynchronously at different spatial and temporal scales, configure the specific circumstances in which disasters occur. An objective of FORIN research is to accumulate lessons and experience in a systematic way that can lead to improved choices in the future. FORINSEA aims to support this objective by providing an open database suitable to FORIN enquiries in South East Asia region. FORINSEA1.0 provides a comprehensive and coherent historical record of disasters, from 1945 until 2020, socio-economic policies and development of key infrastructure at the hydrological catchments of the Red River Delta in Vietnam and the Marikina river basin in the Philippines. The FORINSEA1.0 dataset allows researchers, for the first time, to explore and make use of geocoded data on major disasters affecting the two large and rapidly expanding cities of Hanoi and Metro Manila and their catchment areas.
