We have used this data to do historical studies of IP data for MTurk, etc. and it is quite possible that such data would be useful elsewhere. Maxmind changed its db format from geolite to geolite2 and you will need to use its respective packages for the two formats to read the binary files. The data is provided for research purposes alone.
