    This study used telephone interviews to assess the physical and mental health of 517 individuals aged 60 years and above who were contaminated with coronavirus throughout five pandemic waves in Farzanegan Daily Caring Foundation (FDCF) in the south of Iran between March 2020 and September 2021. Each interview was conducted at the beginning of each of the five pandemic waves (April 2020, July 2020, November 2020, May 2021, and September 2021).

    Description

    The PERSIAN birth cohort is a multi-centre network of population-based birth cohorts in Iran, conducted as part of the Prospective Epidemiological Research Studies in IrAN (PERSIAN) cohort. Around 15,000 pregnant women were enrolled between 2016 and 2019 from five Iranian cities (Isfahan, Yazd, Semnan, Rafsanjan and Sari). After baseline, mothers were followed up at each trimester until birth. The children were assessed at birth, 2, 4, 6, 12, and 24 months; thereafter, they are being followed annually for up to 10 years.

    Description

    The AZAR Cohort study investigates the genetic, lifestyle, and environmental risk factors for common, non-communicable diseases in a cohort of Iranian Azeris, the largest minority population group in Iran. Participants aged 35-70 years with at least one Azeri parent were recruited between 2014 and 2015 from Shabestar County in East Azerbaijan Province, northwestern Iran. The cohort is followed for 15 years, with repeated assessments of risk and resilience factors every 5 years.

    Description

    The BKNCD Cohort Study is part of the larger PERSIAN (Prospective Epidemiological Research Studies in IrAN) Cohort. The study aimed to determine the incidence and prevalence of non-communicable diseases such as cardiovascular disorders, chronic renal and liver disorders, diabetes and cancers in the adult population of Iran. Between 2016 and 2018, the study recruited more than 4,000 adults aged 35-70 years residing in the city of Kong, Hormozgan Province, Iran. Participants were followed up annually by telephone until 2018 and reassessed in person in 2021.

    YaHS is a study focused on investigating the incidence and risk factors of chronic illness in Iran's adult population. Participants aged 20 - 70 were recruited from Shahediah, Zarch, Hamidia, and the surrounding villages in the Greater Yazd area in Iran, representing a diverse demographic of the local population. At baseline, over 9,000 participants were included in the study. Participants are followed up every five years to monitor their health and lifestyle changes.
