The data on this CD consist of geographic information system (GIS) coverages and tabular data on the geology of Early Proterozoic and Archean rocks in part of the Early Proterozoic Penokean orogeny. The map emphasizes metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks that were deposited along the southern margin of the Superior craton and were later deformed during continental collision at about 1850 Ma. The area includes the famous iron ranges of the south shore region of the Lake Superior district. Base maps, both as digital raster graphics (DRG) and digital line graphs (DLG) are also provided for the convenience of users. The map has been compiled from many individual studies, mostly by USGS researchers, completed during the past 50 years, including many detailed (1:24,000 scale) geologic maps. Data was compiled at 1:100,000 scale and preserves most of the details of source materials. This product is a preliminary release of the geologic map data bases during ongoing studies of the geology and metallogeny of the Penokean continental margin. Files are provided in three formats: Federal Spatial Data Transfer format (SDTS), Arc export format (.e00) files, and Arc coverages. All files can be accessed directly from the CD-ROM using either ARC/INFO 7.1.2 or later or Arc View 3.0 or later software. ESRI's Arc Explorer, a free GIS data viewer also provides display and querying capability for these files.
This table provides the raw data from river monitoring sites including Water Framework Directive monitoring sites. It should be noted that, as the data set is in its raw state, it cannot be used to provide a status without processing. The data set does not show Limits of Detection or Limit of Quantitation which would require a value to be treated as a half value for WFD calculation. In addition both altitude and alkalinity affect status calculations for some parameters. The data set may contain results which are erroneous due to typos, sampling error or contamination, such data points are usually several orders or magnitude above expected values.This is the first in a series of water data sets being made available as Open Data. The Water (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 ensures that the Water Framework Directive (WFD) (as transposed) and the various supporting pieces of water legislation continue to operate here after 1 January 2021. The regulation encourage the active involvement of interested parties and the general public.The regulations set out the requirement to achieve 'Good Ecological Status' and 'Good Chemical Status' for all ground and surface waters (rivers, lakes, transitional waters, and coastal waters) within Northern Ireland.Surface waters are assessed according to the following criteria:Biological quality (fish, invertebrates, flora)HydromorphologicalPhysico-chemical properties like temperature, oxygenation and nutrient conditions.Chemical quality assessed against environmental quality standards for specific pollutants and priority substances.The following physio-chemical and chemical parameters are included in the data set:FESOL1(ug/l)- Iron Dissolved
These layers are included in the Klamath/Trinity System web map which is intended to be an interactive map of the Klamath basin, dams present on the Klamath and Trinity rivers and depicted survey reaches of Arcata Fish and Wildlife Service Fisheries and Aquatic Conservation program's adult escapement monitoring on the Upper Klamath River story map.This story map is meant to educate others about carcass surveys performed by Arcata Fish and Wildlife Office Fisheries Program and Yurok Tribe Fisheries Program on the mainstem Klamath River. Crews climb aboard rafts just below Iron Gate Dam to begin the survey and end at the Shasta river confluence (a total of 21.2 km). The data collected from the field is used to estimate annual escapement and characterize age and sex composition and spawning success of adult fall-run Chinook Salmon on the mainstem Klamath River. These estimations guide decisions for water management as well as fishing regulations.
