TwitterNOTE: An updated Introduction to ArcGIS GeoEvent Server Tutorial is available here. It is recommended you use the new tutorial for getting started with GeoEvent Server. The old Introduction Tutorial available on this page is relevant for 10.8.x and earlier and will not be updated. The Introduction to GeoEvent Server Tutorial (10.8.x and earlier) introduces you to the Real-Time Visualization and Analytic capabilities of ArcGIS GeoEvent Server. GeoEvent Server allows you to:
Incorporate real-time data feeds in your existing GIS data and IT infrastructure. Perform continuous processing and analysis on streaming data, as it is received. Produce new streams of data that can be leveraged across the ArcGIS system.
Once you have completed the exercises in this tutorial you should be able to:
Use ArcGIS GeoEvent Manager to monitor and perform administrative tasks. Create and maintain GeoEvent Service elements such as inputs, outputs, and processors. Use GeoEvent Simulator to simulate event data into GeoEvent Server. Configure GeoEvent Services to append and update features in a published feature service. Work with processors and filters to enhance and direct GeoEvents from event data.
The knowledge gained from this tutorial will prepare you for other GeoEvent Server tutorials available in the ArcGIS GeoEvent Server Gallery.
Releases
Each release contains a tutorial compatible with the version of GeoEvent Server listed. The release of the component you deploy does not have to match your version of ArcGIS GeoEvent Server, so long as the release of the component is compatible with the version of GeoEvent Server you are using. For example, if the release contains a tutorial for version 10.6; this tutorial is compatible with ArcGIS GeoEvent Server 10.6 and later. Each release contains a Release History document with a compatibility table that illustrates which versions of ArcGIS GeoEvent Server the component is compatible with.
NOTE: The release strategy for ArcGIS GeoEvent Server components delivered in the ArcGIS GeoEvent Server Gallery has been updated. Going forward, a new release will only be created when
a component has an issue,
is being enhanced with new capabilities,
or is not compatible with newer versions of ArcGIS GeoEvent Server.
This strategy makes upgrades of these custom
components easier since you will not have to
upgrade them for every version of ArcGIS GeoEvent Server
unless there is a new release of
the component. The documentation for the
latest release has been
updated and includes instructions for updating
your configuration to align with this strategy.

TwitterThis layer was last updated August 2016. The map presents country boundaries; first-order (State/Province) internal administrative boundaries for most countries; second-order administrative boundaries for the United States (counties), Canada, India, New Zealand, and Europe, South America, and Africa; and place-names for the world. Alignment of boundaries is a presentation of the feature provided by our data vendors and does not imply endorsement by Esri or any governing authority. The map was developed by Esri using administrative and cities data from Esri, HERE, and Garmin basemap layers for the world. Data for India sourced from MapmyIndia from ~1:288k and ~1:144k. Data for select areas is provided by the GIS Community. You can contribute your data to this service and have it served by Esri. For details on the users who contributed data for this map via the Community Maps Program, view the list of Contributors for the World Boundaries and Places Map. Data for select areas of Africa and Pacific Island nations was sourced from OpenStreetMap contributors. Specific country list and documentation of Esri's process for including OSM data is available to view. This layer is designed for use with maps with lighter backgrounds, such as the World Shaded Relief map, as you can see in this Shaded Relief web map which includes the World Boundaries and Places Alternate and the World Reference Overlay layers which you can turn on in order to compare their utility as reference overlays. A different version of this map is also available, the World Boundaries and Places layer, which is designed for overlaying on basemaps with darker backgrounds, such as the World Imagery map.Scale Range: 1:591,657,528 down to 1:144,448Coordinate System: Web Mercator Auxiliary Sphere (WKID 102100)Tiling Scheme: Web Mercator Auxiliary SphereMap Service Name: World_Boundaries_and_Places_AlternateArcGIS Desktop/Explorer URL: http://services.arcgisonline.com/arcgis/servicesArcGIS Server Manager and Web ADF URL: http://server.arcgisonline.com/arcgis/services/Reference/World_Boundaries_and_Places_Alternate/MapServerREST URL for ArcGIS Web APIs: http://server.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/Reference/World_Boundaries_and_Places_Alternate/MapServerSOAP API URL: http://services.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/services/Reference/World_Boundaries_and_Places_Alternate/MapServer?wsdl

TwitterIntroductionIRWIN ArcGIS Online GeoPlatform Services The Integrated Reporting of Wildland-Fire Information (IRWIN) Production data is replicated every 60 seconds to the ArcGIS Online GeoPlatform organization so that read-only views can be provided for consumers. This replicated view is called the hosted datastore. The “IRWIN Data” group is a set of Feature Layer views based on the replicated IRWIN layers. These feature layers provide a near real-time feed of all valid IRWIN data. All incidents that have been shared through the integration service since May 20, 2014 are available through this service. The incident data provides the location of existing fires, size, conditions and several other attributes that help classify fires. The IRWIN Data service allows users to create a web map, share it with their organization, or pull it into ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro for more in-depth analysis.InstructionsTo allow the emergency management GIS staff to join the IRWIN Data group, they will need to set up an ArcGIS Online account through our account manager. Please send the response to Samantha Gibbes (Samantha.C.Gibbes@saic.com) and Kayloni Ahtong (kayloni_ahtong@ios.doi.gov). Use the below template and fill in each part as best as possible, where the point of contact (POC) is the person responsible for the account.Reply Email Body: The (name of application) application requests the following user account and access to the IRWIN Data group.POC Name: First name Last name and titlePOC Email: Username: <>_irwin (choose a username, something short, followed by _irwin)Business Justification: Once you are set up with the account, I will coordinate a call to go over any questions.

TwitterThis map was last updated January 2017. This map presents transportation data, including highways, roads, railroads, and airports for the world. The map was developed by Esri using Esri highway data; Garmin basemap layers; HERE street data for North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South America and Central America, most of the Middle East, and select countries in Africa. Data for India sourced from MapmyIndia. Data for Pacific Island nations and the remaining countries of Africa was sourced from OpenStreetMap contributors. Specific country list and documentation of Esri's process for including OSM data is available to view.Tip: To see what this layer looks like when drawn on top of the World Imagery map, open the Imagery With Labels and Transportation web map. This web map uses the Imagery with Labels basemap and contains the World Transportation map service as a layer too.You can add this layer on top of any imagery, such as the Esri World Imagery map service, to provide a useful reference overlay that also includes street labels at the largest scales. (At the largest scales, the line symbols representing the streets and roads are automatically hidden and only the labels showing the names of streets and roads are shown). Imagery With Labels basemap in the basemap dropdown in the ArcGIS web and mobile clients does not include this World Transportation map. If you use the Imagery With Labels basemap in your map and you want to have road and street names, simply add this World Transportation layer into your map. It is designed to be drawn underneath the labels in the Imagery With Labels basemap, and that is how it will be drawn if you manually add it into your web map. View the coverage map below to learn more about the levels of detail:World coverage map: Shows the levels of detail throughout the world.Export: This layer is not intended to be used to export tiles for offline. If you would like to export imagery for offline use in ArcGIS applications, you may use the World Transportation (for Export) layer, which is intended for this purpose.Scale Range: 1:591,657,528 down to 1:1,128Coordinate System: Web Mercator Auxiliary Sphere (WKID 102100)Tiling Scheme: Web Mercator Auxiliary SphereMap Service Name: World_TransportationArcGIS Desktop/Explorer URL: http://services.arcgisonline.com/arcgis/servicesArcGIS Server Manager and Web ADF URL: http://server.arcgisonline.com/arcgis/services/Reference/World_Transportation/MapServerREST URL for ArcGIS Web APIs: http://server.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/Reference/World_Transportation/MapServerSOAP API URL: http://services.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/services/Reference/World_Transportation/MapServer?wsdl
