    Description

From 1999 thru March 30, 2015, records show a total of 28 ZAA (Zoning Amendments, e.g. County-approved zoning changes) decisions were issued. It is not known what, if any, processes or procedures existed to update the Zoning layer when a ZAA was approved. It is likely that some, but not all, of these changes are reflected in the Zoning Layer. It is possible that none of these changes are correctly reflected in the Zoning layer. Annexations since 1999 may not be accurately reflected in this layer. It is not known if any double-checking or quality-control process has ever been done between the Official Zoning Atlases kept in the Planning Department and the Zoning layer. Experience has shown very little inconsistency between the Zoning Atlases and the Zoning layer during work in the Planning Department. It expected that the accuracy rate between the Zoning layer and Zoning Atlases is greater than 95%. This layer is accurate to the parcel level. Some parcels may be slightly shifted. Any shifting that has occurred is expected to be less than 15 feet in any direction.

This layer was provided by the U.S. Navy (NAS Whidbey) in about 2007. This layer shows the location of the Clear Zones at NAS Whidbey and the OLF, and the Accident Potential Zone surrounding NAS Whidbey. This layer is used by ICP&CD for land use regulation near the naval airfields on the island. Island County does not have jurisdiction over the APZ location, size or shape, as this is set by the Navy. Island County chose to adopt into its local Zoning Code the APZ as delineated by the Navy. Island County uses this layer to review proposals for development within or near the APZ.

Points of Tidal properties, intended for use by the Assessor’s Office. This layer only reflects tide parcels that have a different parcel number than the adjacent land parcel. A point represents the relative location of the parcel rather than a polygon to demonstrate that the parcel exists, however the boundaries are not drawn on a map due to the difficulty in tracking the dimensions of the parcel as the borders change over time. Use of the layer assists the appraisers and public in locating the relative location of a tides only parcel and is beneficial for cartographic use.

    Description

This is a copy of the statewide County GIS Tiger file. Created by joining ACS 2019-2023 5 year estimates to the 2020 Census Counties feature class, and the 2023 Unemployment Rate. The IRWM web based EDA mapping tool uses this GIS layer. The TIGER/Line Files are shapefiles and related database files (.dbf) that are an extract of selected geographic and cartographic information from the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File / Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) Database (MTDB). The MTDB represents a seamless national file with no overlaps or gaps between parts, however, each TIGER/Line File is designed to stand alone as an independent data set, or they can be combined to cover the entire nation. The primary legal divisions of most States are termed counties. In Louisiana, these divisions are known as parishes. In Alaska, which has no counties, the equivalent entities are the organized boroughs, city and boroughs, and municipalities, and for the unorganized area, census areas. The latter are delineated cooperatively for statistical purposes by the State of Alaska and the Census Bureau. In four States (Maryland, Missouri, Nevada, and Virginia), there are one or more incorporated places that are independent of any county organization and thus constitute primary divisions of their States. These incorporated places are known as independent cities and are treated as equivalent entities for purposes of data presentation. The District of Columbia and Guam have no primary divisions, and each area is considered an equivalent entity for purposes of data presentation. The Census Bureau treats the following entities as equivalents of counties for purposes of data presentation: Municipios in Puerto Rico, Districts and Islands in American Samoa, Municipalities in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and Islands in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The entire area of the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Island Areas is covered by counties or equivalent entities. The 2020 Census boundaries for counties and equivalent entities are as of April 1, 2020, primarily as reported through the Census Bureau's Boundary and Annexation Survey (BAS).

This resource is a member of a series. The TIGER/Line shapefiles and related database files (.dbf) are an extract of selected geographic and cartographic information from the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File / Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) System (MTS). The MTS represents a seamless national file with no overlaps or gaps between parts, however, each TIGER/Line shapefile is designed to stand alone as an independent data set, or they can be combined to cover the entire nation. County subdivisions are the primary divisions of counties and equivalent entities for the reporting of Census Bureau data. They include legally-recognized minor civil divisions (MCDs) and statistical census county divisions (CCDs), and unorganized territories. In MCD states where no MCD exists or is not defined, the Census Bureau creates statistical unorganized territories to complete coverage. The entire area of the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Island Areas are covered by county subdivisions. The boundaries of most legal MCDs are as of January 1, 2024, as reported through the Census Bureau's Boundary and Annexation Survey (BAS). The boundaries of all CCDs are those as reported as part of the Census Bureau's Participant Statistical Areas Program (PSAP) for the 2020 Census.

    Description

This collection of geo-referenced photos vary with regards to spatial accuracy and resolution. Use the hotlinks below to learn the details of each collection or review MassGIS's new story map explaining all the vintages of aerial photos. Tip: Reviewing that story map might be an easier way to digest the information rather than reviewing the more formal/standard metadata accessible via the hotlinks below.Within the web map certain layers will only be visible at particular zoom extents. If a layer is unavailable to turn on/off, then zoom in or out as needed until the layer becomes active. All photos, except year 1938, are captured during leaf-off (typically late winter/early spring). With the exception of the 1938 & 1990s collection, all photos are in true color. The 1938 & 1990s are in black and white. With regards to Dukes County (which includes the Islands of Martha's Vineyard and the Elizabeth Islands) these are the applicable years of acquisition for those State-wide collections that span multiple years: "1990s collection" -- Only year 1999 for Dukes County"2001-2003 collection" -- Only year 2003 for Dukes County"2008-2009 collection" - Only year 2009 for Dukes County"2011-2012 collection" - Only year 2011 for Dukes County"2013-2014 collection" - Only year 2014 for Dukes CountyPhoto Details (Metadata)1938 Black & White Aerials (georeferenced & hosted by Harvard Forest)1990s Black & White Aerials2001-2003 Color Aerials2005 Color Aerials2008-2009 Color Aerials2011-2012 Color Aerials2013-2014 Color Aerials2015 Satellite Images - Extra Details2019 Color Aerials2021 Color Aerials2023 Color AerialsParcel Lines -- These data are NOT survey grade and are intended for general reference only. The parcel data comply with the MassGIS Level 3 parcel data standard. Each town in Dukes County hires a GIS Consultant to prepare their digital parcel lines and to link the properties to the respective records from the town's assessing database. The linkage is static and not updated in real-time - it is only 'as current' as the day the data was exported from the assessing database. The Martha's Vineyard Commission does not edit nor maintain any assessing data or parcel lines/property bounds. Each town within Dukes County updates their digital parcel data when they see fit (most, typically, update annually). Click on a specific town in this map to see when their parcel data was updated and by whom. Similarly, clicking on a parcel in this "MA Aerial Photos Since 1990s web map" will show you the applicable Fiscal Year the assessing info was exported.

[Metadata] 2012 Maui Island Plan Boundaries - Growth Boundaries Layer. Source: Maui County Planning Department, August 2022. See also Maui Island Plan Agricultural Preserves, Maui Island Plan Growth Areas, Maui Island Plan Protected Areas layers.Maui Island Plan Growth Boundaries adjusted to Maui County Finance Department Real Property Assessment Division’s daily parcels early 2022. Some boundaries match Real Property Assessment’s 2022 parcel release but some are aligned to parcels which were refined after that release. Maui Island Plan was passed in 2012. Growth Boundaries, Growth Areas, Protected Areas, and Agricultural Preserves are defined by documents available here: https://www.mauicounty.gov/1503/Maui-Island-Plan. GIS layers are based on the documents but are aligned to match features like parcels, roads, and boundaries visible on Pictometry imagery.
