TwitterKittitas County identified all of the parcels within the “Green” and “ Yellow” zones of the Kittitas County Water Bank. The project team reviewed each subdivision within those areas to identify the project’s proposed water use and purpose based on a set of criteria identified based on the court case Campbell vs. Gwinn (March 28, 2002). The assessment for this layer was conducted using a flow chart (available upon request) based on parcel subdivision criteria , common ownership, roads, utilities, development schedules, total number of lots , etc. The purpose of this layer is to help current and potential parcel owners identify the process in which they would go through to obtain water mitigation. This dataset represents the most recent version of the County Water Bank assessment. This data set is updated as new projects are approved and new information is acquired.

This dataset shows the general location of shrubsteppe and eastside steppe as defined by WDFW’s Priority Habitats and Species (PHS) program. It shows where WDFW recommends counties and cities require site-specific information be gathered to inform site-scale land use decisions. It is not designed to directly inform parcel-scale land use decisions, rather it is designed to be used as a flagging tool. As such, if this dataset errs, it is more likely to over-identify shrubsteppe and eastside steppe than under-identify. It is “best available science” regarding the general location of shrubsteppe and eastside steppe in Washington.
