The produced water market is witnessing significant growth due to the increasing oil & gas exploration activities. Urbanization and population growth in various regions have led to an increase in the demand for fossil fuels, resulting in a wave in crude oil and natural gas production. This, in turn, leads to the generation of large volumes of produced water. Produced water contains impurities such as oil droplets, sediments, mud particles, heavy metal particles, salts, hydrocarbons, and organic compounds. Regulatory requirements, water scarcity, environmental concerns, freshwater usage, and energy consumption are some of the key factors driving the demand for produced water treatment.
Moreover, membrane filtration and electrocoagulation are the most commonly used treatment technologies for producing water. These technologies help in removing impurities and making the water suitable for reuse or disposal. The oil and gas industry generates produced water from oil and gas reservoirs, and it also enters the water stream through river streams during transportation and industrial activities. Therefore, the market is expected to grow significantly in the coming years.

The onshore segment is estimated to witness significant growth during the forecast period. The market in the onshore segment is projected to expand at a steady pace over the upcoming years. Onshore oil and gas production has been the primary contributor to global production, making the onshore segment a significant market for produced water treatment. The wave in shale gas production in the US, particularly in recent years, has significantly boosted the demand for produced water treatment. During shale gas extraction, vast quantities of water are utilized for hydraulic fracturing, resulting in the production of large volumes of water containing oil droplets, sediments, mud particles, heavy metal particles, salts, hydrocarbons, and organic compounds.
Moreover, the produced water, which emerges at the surface, requires treatment to meet regulatory standards and to minimize environmental impact. This high volume of produced water in the US, driven by its shale gas boom, has resulted in a high water-oil ratio (WOR), making the market a vital sector in the country.

The Red Meat Market is experiencing significant growth in Saudi Arabia, driven by the increasing urbanization and rising population. This demographic shift is leading to a rise in demand for red meat, particularly among the expanding middle class. However, this trend is not without challenges. One major obstacle is the growing requirement for halal certification and traceability. Consumers are increasingly seeking assurance that the meat they consume adheres to Islamic dietary laws and is sourced ethically. Meat packaging innovations, such as vacuum-sealed and modified atmosphere packaging, ensure product freshness and prolong shelf life. This demand for transparency is pushing companies to invest in advanced tracking systems and certification processes.

Pea protein and soy protein-based meat alternatives challenge the traditional meat market, offering plant-based options for those seeking to reduce their meat intake. As these resources become increasingly scarce, prices rise, putting pressure on meat producers to find more sustainable and cost-effective solutions. Companies that can innovate and adapt to these challenges, such as implementing water conservation techniques and exploring alternative feed sources, will be well-positioned to capitalize on the market's growth potential. Another challenge facing the Red Meat Market is the concerns surrounding water scarcity and feed costs.

Sikhism is a religion that originated on the Indian subcontinent during the fifteenth century. Sikhs follow the teachings of 'gurus', who descend from the first guru Guru Naruk who established the faith. Followers of Sikhism are monotheists, believing in only one god, and other core beliefs include the need to meditate, the importance of community and communal living, and the need to serve humanity selflessly (or 'seva'). Sikhism and the British Empire In total, there are around 26 million Sikhs worldwide, and over 24 million of these live in India. Outside of India, the largest Sikh populations are mostly found in former territories of the British Empire - the UK and Canada both have Sikh populations of over half a million people. Migration from India to other parts of the British Empire was high in the 19th century, due to the labor demands of relatively newer colonies, as well as those where slavery had been abolished. These countries also remain popular destinations for Sikh migrants today, as many are highly trained and English-speaking. Other regions with significant Sikh populations Italy also has a sizeable Sikh population, as many migrated there after serving there in the British Army during WWI, and they are now heavily represented in Italy's dairy industry. The Sikh population of Saudi Arabia is also reflective of the fact that the largest Indian diaspora in the world can now be found in the Middle East - this is due to the labor demands of the fossil fuel industries and their associated secondary industries, although a large share of Indians in this part of the world are there on a temporary basis.

Saudi Arabia, a key player in the regional automobile sector As of 2022, Saudi Arabia has joined the trillion-dollar club, a term used to describe economies with a gross domestic product exceeding one trillion U.S. dollars. Unsurprisingly, the Kingdom is the biggest vehicle market among the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Moreover, Saudi Arabia dominated both passenger and commercial car sales in the Middle East and North African region in 2021. Followed by Hyundai, Toyota held the largest market share of new car sales in the Kingdom in 2021. Meanwhile, the year-on-year change of commercial vehicle sales in Saudi Arabia was forecast to grow by *** and *** percent in 2022 and 2023 respectively. A large economy with big challenges Saudi Arabia is home to one of the world’s youngest populations, with inhabitants aged between 15 and 24 years old exceeding ** percent of the total population in 2020. While the young population drives the economy forward as it enters the working age, at the current stage, the Kingdom is more concerned with providing enough employment than with the issue of not having enough labor force. To illustrate, Saudi Arabia has the highest youth unemployment rate in the G20, which translates as the highest youth unemployment rate among the GCC countries. Another feature of the Kingdom’s economy is the gender disparity in labor force participation, with a ** percent gap in women's labor force participation in 2016.
According to the survey, as of February 2023, four out of the six countries in the Gulf Cooperation Council ranked amongst the top ** in the world for expatriate quality of life. Qatar and the United Arab Emirates topped the list for quality of life, whereas Saudi Arabia and Kuwait came last in the region. Saudi Arabia, where the number of foreign workers in the private sector topped *** million, also ranked as having one of the region's lowest quality of life for expatriates. Qatar, which had the second-highest quality of life for expatriates living in the GCC, was ranked as one of the most challenging countries in the region for ease of settling in. The UAE and Qatar, both of which ranked the highest in the survey, also have the highest average salaries and living standards in the region. Foreign workers are a key pillar of the GCC economy Countries in the GCC all have sizable expatriate populations for which their economies are heavily reliant. Roughly ********** of the workforce in the GCC is foreign. Although the share of foreign workers in the GCC has slightly decreased in recent years, they still considerably outweigh the local workforce. Most of these workers comprise the unskilled portion of the occupational category in the GCC. However, with diversifying investments and programs such as Vision 2030, countries have seen a rise in the number of skilled foreign workers.
