    The Digital Geologic-GIS Map of the Austin Quadrangle, Kentucky is composed of GIS data layers and GIS tables, and is available in the following GRI-supported GIS data formats: 1.) a 10.1 file geodatabase (aust_geology.gdb), and a 2.) Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) geopackage. The file geodatabase format is supported with a 1.) ArcGIS Pro map file (.mapx) file (aust_geology.mapx) and individual Pro layer (.lyrx) files (for each GIS data layer), as well as with a 2.) 10.1 ArcMap (.mxd) map document (aust_geology.mxd) and individual 10.1 layer (.lyr) files (for each GIS data layer). Upon request, the GIS data is also available in ESRI 10.1 shapefile format. Contact Stephanie O'Meara (see contact information below) to acquire the GIS data in these GIS data formats.     Description

    This Dynamic Image Service provides access to a seamless 5-Foot Digital Elevation Model (DEM) for all of Kentucky. This elevation data was acquired through the KyFromAbove Aerial Photography and Elevation Data Program which began in 2012. Complete statewide coverage was achieved in 2017 and Phase2 acquisitions are now underway. The DEM was derived from the ground class within KyFromAbove point cloud data and has a 5-foot point spacing. Kentucky's DEM data specifications were developed by the KyFromAbove Technical Advisory Subcommittee and adopted by the Kentucky Geographic Information Advisory Council (GIAC).     Description

    The Digital Geologic-GIS Map of the Center Quadrangle, Kentucky is composed of GIS data layers and GIS tables, and is available in the following GRI-supported GIS data formats: 1.) a 10.1 file geodatabase (cent_geology.gdb), and a 2.) Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) geopackage. The file geodatabase format is supported with a 1.) ArcGIS Pro map file (.mapx) file (cent_geology.mapx) and individual Pro layer (.lyrx) files (for each GIS data layer), as well as with a 2.) 10.1 ArcMap (.mxd) map document (cent_geology.mxd) and individual 10.1 layer (.lyr) files (for each GIS data layer). Upon request, the GIS data is also available in ESRI 10.1 shapefile format. Contact Stephanie O'Meara (see contact information below) to acquire the GIS data in these GIS data formats. In addition to the GIS data and supporting GIS files, three additional files comprise a GRI digital geologic-GIS dataset or map: 1.) a readme file (maca_abli_geology_gis_readme.pdf), 2.) the GRI ancillary map information document (.pdf) file (maca_abli_geology.pdf) which contains geologic unit descriptions, as well as other ancillary map information and graphics from the source map(s) used by the GRI in the production of the GRI digital geologic-GIS data for the park, and 3.) a user-friendly FAQ PDF version of the metadata (cent_geology_metadata_faq.pdf).     Description

    This dataset is designed to represent and identify the property boundaries in Lexington-Fayette County. The original dataset was created in late 1990's by a third party that converted existing paper maps to digital GIS files. The data has since been updated by georeferencing recorded plats for corrections and new additions. In cases where the plats do not appear accurate, aerial photos are utilized in attempt to properly locate the property lines. The only except for this process are changes to highway right-of-way in which calls are run from deeds. The geometry of this data is not of survey quality and should not be used for survey purposes. The data is intended for general reference purposes only.As part of the basemap data layers, the parcel boundary map layer is an integral part of the Lexington Fayette-Urban County Government Geographic Information System. Basemap data layers are accessed by personnel in most LFUCG divisions for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production. More advanced user applications may focus on thematic mapping, summarization of data by geography, or planning purposes (including defining boundaries, managing assets and facilities, integrating attribute databases with geographic features, spatial analysis, and presentation output).

    This map service is a one-stop location to view and explore Kentucky geologic map data and related-data (geologic outcrops, photos, and diagrams), Kentucky water wells and springs, Kentucky oil and gas wells. All features are provided by the Kentucky Geological Survey via ArcGIS Server services. This map service displays the 1:500,000-scale geologic map of Kentucky at scales smaller than 1:100,000, and 1:24,000-scale geological quadrangle data at larger scales. The 1:500,000-scale geologic map data were derived from the 1988 Geologic Map of Kentucky, which was compiled by Martin C. Noger (KGS) from the 1981 Geologic Map of Kentucky (Scale 1:250,000) by McDowell and others (USGS). The 1:24,000-scale geologic map data and the fault data were compiled from 707 Geological Survey 7.5-minute geologic quadrangle maps, which were digitized during the Kentucky Geological Survey Digital Mapping Program (1996-2006).The basemap data is provided via ArcGIS Server services hosted by the Kentucky Office of Geographic Information.Some tools are provided to help explore the map data:- Query tool: use this tool to search on the KGS database of lithologic descriptions. Most descriptions are derived from the 707 1:24,000 geological quadrangle maps. Once a search is completed, every unit that contains the search parameters is highlighted on the map service.- ID tools: users can identify and get detailed info on geologic units and other map features using either the point, area, or buffer identification tools.A few notes on this service:- the legend is dynamic for the viewed extent. It is provided via a database call using the current map extent.- the oil and gas and water wells are ArcGIS Server services that update dynamically from the KGS database.- the geologic map and faults are dynamic ArcGIS Server map services.- the user can link to other geologic data for the viewed extent using the links provided in the "Geologic Info" tab.- you can query the entire KGS lithologic description database and highlight the relevant geologic units based on the query.
