The geometry of this shapefile was derived from the parcel specific ZIP Code Boundaries used by Los Angeles County's geocoding services, also available on the Los Angeles County GIS Data Portal. This polygon shapefile represents zip code tabulation areas (ZCTAs) for the state of California. These data were gathered from the 2010 Census demographics update and contain keys for ZCTAs, centroid coordinates, demographic fields for age, gender, race and ethnicity, and housing information including living quarters, institutionalized populations, households and housing units. For the 2010 Census, there were no “XX” or “HH” ZCTAs assigned. Only five-digit ZCTAs were produced, and large unpopulated areas were excluded from the delineations. For the 2010 Census, there is no wall-to-wall national coverage for ZCTAs. Large water bodies and unpopulated land area such as national parks were excluded from the 2010 delineations, and for this reason the Census 2010 product does not have complete national coverage.

Context

In order to complete our group project, which is abour developing a website to find vaccine station in Los Angeles County, in EE599 USC. We scraped two website to get our dataset.

Content

At first, we scraped the Los Angeles Almanac to get the whole zip codes of Los Angeles County. The zip codes are store in zipcode.json. It will include some zip codes, which are not used nowadays.

Secondly, we scraped Google Map to get the position of each zip code. The position is presented by the form of latitude and longitude. The postion info is stored in zip2pst.json.

At last, we scraped the VaccineFinder to get the information about the providers info and vaccine information, which are stored in porviders.json and providers_info.json. VaccineFinder: https://www.vaccines.gov/

This indicator provides information about the geographic locations of petroleum refineries and includes oil refineries and oil terminals overseen by the California Energy Commission in Los Angeles County. All records include facility operator name, refinery type, address, city, zip code, and latitude and longitude coordinates.Living near an oil refinery can pose health risks due to emissions and pollutants released into the air and water. Understanding the health risks related to oil refineries is important so that individuals and policymakers can advocate for cleaner and safer living environments for nearby communities.For more information about the Community Health Profiles Data Initiative, please see the initiative homepage.

This is the ONS Postcode Directory (ONSPD) for the United Kingdom as at February 2023 in Comma Separated Variable (CSV) and ASCII text (TXT) formats. This file contains the multi CSVs so that postcode areas can be opened in MS Excel. To download the zip file click the Download button. The ONSPD relates both current and terminated postcodes in the United Kingdom to a range of current statutory administrative, electoral, health and other area geographies. It also links postcodes to pre-2002 health areas, 1991 Census enumeration districts for England and Wales, 2001 Census Output Areas (OA) and Super Output Areas (SOA) for England and Wales, 2001 Census OAs and SOAs for Northern Ireland and 2001 Census OAs and Data Zones (DZ) for Scotland. It now contains 2021 Census OAs and SOAs for England and Wales. It helps support the production of area based statistics from postcoded data. The ONSPD is produced by ONS Geography, who provide geographic support to the Office for National Statistics (ONS) and geographic services used by other organisations. The ONSPD is issued quarterly. This dataset contains address points from the Countywide Address Management System, a collaborative program between the County’s Registrar/Recorder, Chief Information Officer, Public Works Department, Department of Regional Planning, and many local cities to manage addresses and street centerlines for the purposes of geocoding and cartography. More information about this layer can be found on the https://cams-lacounty.hub.arcgis.com/ What this data is (and isn’t)This dataset contains the best available information, with close to 3 million primary and secondary addresses in the County of Los Angeles. It does NOT include information about every unit, suite, building, and sub-address. With probably over 7 million addresses, we have a ways to go.DescriptionThis dataset includes over 2.9 million individual points for addresses in the County. Data has been compiled from best available sources, including city databases, LA County Assessor parcels, and the County’s House Numbering maps. Please see the Source field for information.Street Name information has been split into multiple fields to support the County’s specifically designed geocoders – please see the entry on LA County Specific Locators and Matching rules for more information.Multi-address ParcelsSome of our data sources (LA City, LA County, for example) have mapped each individual address in their city. These may also show unit information for an address point. A property with multiple addresses will show a point for each address. For some cities where this has not happened, the data source is the Assessor, where the primary address of the property may be the only address shown. We invite cities and sources with more detailed information to join the CAMS consortium to continue to improve the data.Legal vs. Postal CitiesMany users confuse the name the Post Office delivers main to (e.g. Van Nuys, Hollywood) as a legal city (in this case Los Angeles), when they are a postal city. The County contains 88 legal cities, and over 400 postal names that are tied to the zipcodes. To support useability and geocoding, we have attached the first 3 postal cities to each address, based upon its zipcocode.
