    Description

Key to regional sustainable development are the development and interplay of population dynamics and social welfare, each playing a significant role. As a representative region with demographic characteristics such as negative population growth and large labor outflow, the development and interaction between population and social welfare in Nanchong deserve in-depth exploration. This article takes the development of population and social welfare in Nanchong as the research object, and constructs an evaluation indicator system of population and social welfare through research backtracking, and uses entropy method and coupling coordination model to measure the development level and interactive effect of population and social welfare in Nanchong from 2010 to 2021. The research results show that: Firstly, the comprehensive evaluation results of population in Nanchong shows a linear upward trend, which indicates the stable positive effect of population structure and distribution, the gradual improvement effect of population quality effectively compensate for the weakening effect of population quantity, thus achieving the positive development of population. Secondly, the comprehensive evaluation results of social welfare in Nanchong shows an exponential upward trend, which indicates the social welfare has maintained a rapid growth momentum in various dimensions and the long-term positive effects have completely absorbed the negative effects, thus achieving the positive development of social welfare. Thirdly, during the sample period, the population and social welfare in Nanchong consistently maintained a high level of interaction strength, with factors diffusing and integrating. On this basis, the diffusion theory is used as an empirical reference to construct three interactive mechanisms between the population and social welfare in Nanchong and the implications are inferred from the empirical results.

    Description

The study of the motion of a rigid body on a plane (RBP motion) is usually one of the most challenging topics that students face in introductory physics courses. In this paper, we discuss a couple of problems which are typically used in basic physics courses, in order to highlight some aspects related to RBP motion which are not usually well understood by physics students. The first problem is a pendulum composed of a rod and disk. The angular frequency of the pendulum is calculated in two situations: disk fixed to the rod and disk free to spin. A detailed explanation of the change in the angular frequency from one case to another is given. The second problem is a ladder which slides touching a frictionless surface. We use this problem to highlight the fact that the contact forces applied by the surface perform translational and rotational work despite that the total mechanical energy of the ladder is conserved.

    Gig-Worker Benefits Platform Market Outlook

According to our latest research, the global Gig-Worker Benefits Platform market size reached USD 3.2 billion in 2024, reflecting the rapid expansion of digital labor ecosystems and the increasing demand for flexible work arrangements. The market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 13.7% from 2025 to 2033, with the forecasted market size projected to reach USD 9.2 billion by 2033. This robust growth is primarily driven by the rising number of gig workers worldwide and the growing recognition among enterprises and governments of the need to provide portable, accessible benefits to this dynamic workforce segment.

One of the foremost growth factors propelling the Gig-Worker Benefits Platform market is the exponential rise in the global gig economy. As more professionals opt for freelancing, rideshare driving, delivery services, and other on-demand jobs, there is a pressing need for platforms that can seamlessly deliver essential benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, and financial wellness programs. The traditional employment model, which historically bundled benefits with full-time roles, is being disrupted, creating a significant market opportunity for digital platforms tailored to gig workers. These platforms are leveraging advanced technologies to offer scalable, customizable, and user-friendly solutions that address the unique needs of this workforce, further fueling market expansion.

Another critical driver is the shifting regulatory landscape and the proactive stance of governments and industry bodies toward gig-worker welfare. Across regions such as North America and Europe, there is increasing legislative momentum to mandate or incentivize the provision of benefits to independent contractors and platform-based workers. This regulatory push is compelling gig economy platforms and enterprises to partner with benefits providers, accelerating the adoption of gig-worker benefits platforms. Additionally, the growing awareness among gig workers about the importance of social security, health coverage, and upskilling opportunities is boosting platform engagement rates, as workers seek to mitigate the vulnerabilities associated with non-traditional employment.

Technological advancements and digital transformation are further catalyzing the growth of the Gig-Worker Benefits Platform market. The proliferation of cloud-based solutions, artificial intelligence, and data analytics is enabling benefits platforms to offer highly personalized, real-time services to gig workers, regardless of their location or employment status. These innovations are not only enhancing user experience but also improving the operational efficiency of benefits administration. As platforms continue to integrate with payment systems, HR tools, and compliance modules, they are becoming indispensable partners for gig economy businesses seeking to attract and retain top talent. This confluence of technology and market demand is expected to sustain the market’s upward trajectory through the forecast period.

Regionally, North America remains the dominant market for gig-worker benefits platforms, owing to its mature gig economy, high digital adoption rates, and supportive regulatory frameworks. However, Asia Pacific is rapidly emerging as a high-growth region, driven by the proliferation of mobile-first gig platforms and a burgeoning population of young, tech-savvy freelancers. Europe also presents significant opportunities, particularly as the European Union and member states introduce new directives to enhance gig-worker protections. Meanwhile, Latin America and the Middle East & Africa are witnessing steady growth, albeit from a smaller base, as local startups and global players expand their offerings to underserved markets. This regional diversification is expected to shape the competitive dynamics and innovation landscape of the global gig-worker benefits platform market.

    Description

Two-particle transverse momentum differential correlators, recently measured in Pb$-$Pb collisions at LHC energies, provide an additional tool to gain insights into particle production mechanisms and infer transport properties, such as the ratio of shear viscosity to entropy density, of the medium created in Pb$-$Pb collisions. The longitudinal long-range correlations and the large azimuthal anisotropy measured at low transverse momenta in small collision systems, namely pp and p$-$Pb, at LHC energies resemble manifestations of collective behaviour. This suggests that locally equilibrated matter may be produced in these small collision systems, similar to what is observed in Pb$-$Pb collisions. In this work, the same two-particle transverse momentum differential correlators are exploited in pp and p$-$Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 7\;\text{TeV}$ and $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 5.02\;\text{TeV}$, respectively, to seek evidence for viscous effects. Specifically, the strength and shape of the correlators are studied as a function of the produced particle multiplicity to identify evidence for longitudinal broadening that might reveal the presence of viscous effects in these smaller systems. The measured correlators and their evolution from pp and p$-$Pb to Pb$-$Pb collisions are additionally compared to predictions from Monte Carlo event generators, and the potential presence of viscous effects is discussed.

    Description

CERN-LHC. In quantum scattering processes between two particles, aspects characterizing the strong and Coulomb forces can be observed in kinematic distributions of the particle pairs. The sensitivity to the interaction potential reaches a maximum at low relative momentum and vanishing distance between the two particles. Ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions at the LHC provide an abundant source of many hadron species and can be employed as a measurement method of scattering parameters that is complementary to scattering experiments. This study confirms that momentum correlations of particles produced in Pb--Pb collisions at the LHC provide an accurate measurement of kaon--proton scattering parameters at low relative momentum, allowing precise access to the K- p --> K- p process. This work also validates the femtoscopic measurement in ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions as an alternative to scattering experiments and a complementary tool to the study of exotic atoms with comparable precision. In this work, the first femtoscopic measurement of momentum correlations of K- p (K+ ap) and $\K+ p (k- ap) pairs in Pb--Pb collisions at centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of Sqrt(s_NN)=5.02~TeV registered by the ALICE experiment is reported. The components of the K- p complex scattering length are extracted and found to be Re f_0=-0.91 +/- ~{0.03}(stat)^{+0.17}_{-0.03}(syst) and Im f_0 = 0.92+/-~{0.05}(stat)^{+0.12}_{-0.33}(syst). The results are compared with chiral effective field theory predictions as well as with existing data from dedicated scattering and exotic kaonic atom experiments.

    Abstract:
We present a scheme to synthesize a three-dimensional laser field that produces a chiral electron momentum distribution upon strong-field ionization of atoms. Our approach employs two orthogonally propagating two-color laser beams. This results in a time-dependent three-dimensional electric field vector of the combined light field which varies for different positions within the focal volume. For each position, we conduct a simulation of the corresponding electron momentum distributions that includes non-adiabatic dynamics and Coulomb interaction after tunneling. For suitable laser parameters, only a small region of the focal volume contributes to the final momentum distribution. Thus, integrating over all position coordinates, a specific chiral laser field dominates. This leads to a volume-averaged electron momentum distribution, which is chiral, as well. This work will serve as a benchmark for future strong-field experiments aiming at the synthetization of well-defined, three-dimensional laser fields.
