TwitterThis dataset consists of the vector version of the Land Cover Map 2015 (LCM2015) for Great Britain. The vector data set is the core LCM data set from which the full range of other LCM2015 products is derived. It provides a number of attributes including land cover at the target class level (given as an integer value and also as text), the number of pixels within the polygon classified as each land cover type and a probability value provided by the classification algorithm (for full details see the LCM2015 Dataset Documentation). The 21 target classes are based on the Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC) Broad Habitats, which encompass the entire range of UK habitats. LCM2015 is a land cover map of the UK which was produced at the Centre for Ecology & Hydrology by classifying satellite images from 2014 and 2015 into 21 Broad Habitat-based classes. LCM2015 consists of a range of raster and vector products and users should familiarise themselves with the full range (see related records, the CEH web site and the LCM2015 Dataset documentation) to select the product most suited to their needs. LCM2015 was produced at the Centre for Ecology & Hydrology by classifying satellite images from 2014 and 2015 into 21 Broad Habitat-based classes. It is one of a series of land cover maps, produced by UKCEH since 1990. They include versions in 1990, 2000, 2007, 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2019.

TwitterThe Land Cover Map 2024 (UK Land Cover Statistics) dataset summarises the coverage of different land cover types across Great Britain and Northern Ireland, classified into 21 UKCEH land cover classes, based upon Biodiversity Action Plan broad habitats. This data is provided in both .csv and geopackage (vector) formats. Statistics are calculated at country, county, and regional (England only) levels from the Land Cover Map 2024 (10 m classified pixels) datasets for Great Britain and Northern Ireland. A full description of this and all UKCEH LCM2024 products are available from the LCM2024 product documentation. In addition to UKCEH as copyright holders, the Land Cover Map 2024 (UK Land Cover Statistics) products use digital boundary products and reference maps. This dataset consists of the 1km raster, percentage target class version of the Land Cover Map 2015 (LCM2015) for Great Britain. The 1km percentage product provides the percentage cover for each of 21 land cover classes for 1km x 1km pixels. This product contains one band per target habitat class (producing a 21 band image). The 21 target classes are based on the Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC) Broad Habitats, which encompass the entire range of UK habitats. This dataset is derived from the vector version of the Land Cover Map, which contains individual parcels of land cover and is the highest available spatial resolution. A list of central and local government land in England, which may not be registered with HM Land Registry (HMLR).
HMLR has created this dataset for the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) by combining HMLR freehold polygon data with the public sector ownership data currently openly available from the Office of Government Property.
The dataset is not definitive or complete as not all central and local government data is captured, and/or available, and the two datasets are not held in the same format. The list is therefore indicative rather than definitive.

TwitterLand Cover Map 2021 (LCM2021) is a suite of geospatial land cover datasets (raster and polygon) describing the UK land surface in 2021. These were produced at the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology by classifying satellite images from 2021. Land cover maps describe the physical material on the surface of the country. For example grassland, woodland, rivers & lakes or man-made structures such as roads and buildingsThis is a 10 m Classified Pixel dataset, classified to create a single mosaic of national cover. Provenance and quality:UKCEH’s automated land cover classification algorithms generated the 10m classified pixels. Training data were automatically selected from stable land covers over the interval of 2017 to 2019. A Random Forest classifier used these to classify four composite images representing per season median surface reflectance. Seasonal images were integrated with context layers (e.g., height, aspect, slope, coastal proximity, urban proximity and so forth) to reduce confusion among classes with similar spectra.Land cover was validated by organising the pixel classification into a land parcel framework (the LCM2021 Classified Land Parcels product). The classified land parcels were compared to known land cover producing confusion matrix to determine overall and per class accuracy.View full metadata information and download the data at catalogue.ceh.ac.uk

TwitterThis web map service (WMS) is the 25m raster version of the Land Cover Map 2015 (LCM2015) for Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It shows the target habitat class with the highest percentage cover in each 25m x 25m pixel. The 21 target classes are based on the Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC) Broad Habitats, which encompass the entire range of UK habitats. The 25m raster web map service is the most detailed of the LCM2015 raster products, both thematically and spatially, and it is derived from the LCM2015 vector product. For LCM2015 per-pixel classifications were conducted, using a random forest classification algorithm. The resultant classifications were then mosaicked together, with the best classifications taking priority. This produced a per-pixel classification of the UK, which was then 'imported' into the spatial framework, recording a number of attributes, including the majority class per polygon which is the Land Cover class for each polygon.Find out more about Land Cover Map 2015 at ceh.ac.uk.LCM2015 is available for download to Catchment Based Approach (CaBA) Partnerships in the desktop GIS data package. This 1 km summary pixel data set represents the land surface of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, classified using two classification schemas, target and aggregate classes. The target class schema comprise 21 UKCEH land cover classes based upon Biodiversity Action Plan broad habitats. The aggregate class schema comprises 10 aggregate classes that are groupings of the 21 target classes. The aggregate classes group some of the more specialised target classes into more general classes. For example, the five coastal classes in the target class are grouped into a single aggregate class. The 1km percentage product provides the percentage cover for each of the 21 land cover classes for 1km x 1km pixels. This product contains one band per habitat class, producing 21 and 10 band images for the target and aggregate class products respectively. The 1km dominant coverage product is based on the 1km percentage product, and reports the land cover class with the highest percentage cover for each 1km pixel. TwitterThe Access Network Map of England
is a national composite dataset of Access layers, showing analysis of extent of
Access provision for each Lower Super Output Area (LSOA), as a percentage or
area coverage of access in England. The ‘Access Network Map’ was developed by
Natural England to inform its work to improve opportunities for people to enjoy
the natural environment. This map shows, across England, the
relative abundance of accessible land in relation to where people
live. Due to issues explained below, the map does not, and cannot, provide
a definitive statement of where intervention is necessary. Rather,
it should be used to identify areas of interest which require further
exploration. Natural England believes that places where
people can enjoy the natural environment should be improved and created where
they are most wanted. Access Network Maps help support this work by
providing means to assess the amount of accessible land available in relation
to where people live. They combine all the available good quality data on
access provision into a single dataset and relate this to population.
This provides a common foundation for regional and national teams to use when
targeting resources to improve public access to greenspace, or projects that
rely on this resource. The Access Network Maps are compiled from the
datasets available to Natural England which contain robust, nationally
consistent data on land and routes that are normally available to the public
and are free of charge. Datasets contained in the aggregated

point data only Due to the quantity and complexity of data
used, it is not possible to display clearly on a single map the precise
boundary of accessible land for all areas. We therefore selected a
unit which would be clearly visible at a variety of scales and calculated the
total area (in hectares) of accessible land in each. The units we
selected are ‘Lower Super Output Areas’ (LSOAs), which represent where
approximately 1,500 people live based on postcode. To calculate the
total area of accessible land for each we gave the linear routes a notional
width of 3 metres so they could be measured in hectares. We then
combined together all the datasets and calculated the total hectares of
accessible land in each LSOA. For further information about this data see the following links:Access Network Mapping GuidanceAccess Network Mapping Metadata Full metadata can be viewed on data.gov.uk.
