We collected open and publicly available data resources from the web from administrative, county- or state-level institutions in the United States and integrated and harmonized cadastral parcel data, tax assessment data, and building footprint data for 33 counties, where building footprint data and building construction year information was available. The result of this effort is a unique dataset which we call the Multi-Temporal Building Footprint Dataset for 33 U.S. Counties (MTBF-33). MTBF-33 contains over 6.2 million building footprints including their construction year, and is available in ESRI Shapefile format (Spatial reference system: SR-ORG:7480), organized per county. We compared the MTBF-33 dataset quantitatively to other building footprint data sources, achieving an overall F-1 score of 0.93. Moreover, we compared the MTBF-33 dataset qualitatively to urban extents from historical maps and find high levels of agreement. The MTBF-33 dataset can be used to support historical building stock assessments, to derive retrospective depictions of built-up areas from 1900 to 2015, at fine spatial and temporal grain and can be used for data validation purposes, or to train statistical learning approaches aiming to extract historical information on human settlements from remote sensing data, historical maps, or similar data sources.
Data sources: Boulder County (Colorado) Open Data Catalog / Florida Geographic Data Library / Hillsborough County, Florida / City of Tampa / Manatee County, Florida / Sarasota County, Florida / City of Evansville, Vanderburgh County, Indiana / Baltimore County Government, Maryland / Bureau of Geographic Information (MassGIS), Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Executive Office of Technology and Security Services / City of Boston / MetroGIS, Minnesota Geospatial Commons, Minnesota Geospatial Information Office, Anoka County, Carver County, Dakota County, Hennepin County, Ramsey County, and Washington County, Minnesota / Monmouth County, New Jersey / City of New York / Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Data scraping was performed in 2016.
Vector polygon map data of city limits from Palm Bay, Florida containing 1 feature.
City limits GIS (Geographic Information System) data provides valuable information about the boundaries of a city, which is crucial for various planning and decision-making processes. Urban planners and government officials use this data to understand the extent of their jurisdiction and to make informed decisions regarding zoning, land use, and infrastructure development within the city limits.
By overlaying city limits GIS data with other layers such as population density, land parcels, and environmental features, planners can analyze spatial patterns and identify areas for growth, conservation, or redevelopment. This data also aids in emergency management by defining the areas of responsibility for different emergency services, helping to streamline response efforts during crises..
This city limits data is available for viewing and sharing as a map in a Koordinates map viewer. This data is also available for export to DWG for CAD, PDF, KML, CSV, and GIS data formats, including Shapefile, MapInfo, and Geodatabase.
description: This data represents the GIS Version of the Public Land Survey System including both rectangular and non-rectangular survey data. The rectangular survey data are a reference system for land tenure based upon meridian, township/range, section, section subdivision and government lots. The non-rectangular survey data represent surveys that were largely performed to protect and/or convey title on specific parcels of land such as mineral surveys and tracts. The data are largely complete in reference to the rectangular survey data at the level of first division. However, the data varies in terms of granularity of its spatial representation as well as its content below the first division. Therefore, depending upon the data source and steward, accurate subdivision of the rectangular data may not be available below the first division and the non-rectangular minerals surveys may not be present. At times, the complexity of surveys rendered the collection of data cost prohibitive such as in areas characterized by numerous, overlapping mineral surveys. In these situations, the data were often not abstracted or were only partially abstracted and incorporated into the data set. These PLSS data were compiled from a broad spectrum or sources including federal, county, and private survey records such as field notes and plats as well as map sources such as USGS 7 minute quadrangles. The metadata in each data set describes the production methods for the data content. This data is optimized for data publication and sharing rather than for specific "production" or operation and maintenance. A complete PLSS data set includes the following: PLSS Townships, First Divisions and Second Divisions (the hierarchical break down of the PLSS Rectangular surveys) PLSS Special surveys (non-rectangular components of the PLSS) Meandered Water, Corners, Metadata at a Glance (which identified last revised date and data steward) and Conflicted Areas (known areas of gaps or overlaps or inconsistencies). The Entity-Attribute section of this metadata describes these components in greater detail. This is a graphic representation of the data stewards based on PLSS Townships in PLSS areas. In non-PLSS areas the metadata at a glance is based on a data steward defined polygons such as a city or county or other units. The identification of the data steward is a general indication of the agency that will be responsible for updates and providing the authoritative data sources. In other implementations this may have been termed the alternate source, meaning alternate to the BLM. But in the shared environment of the NSDI the data steward for an area is the primary coordinator or agency responsible for making updates or causing updates to be made. The data stewardship polygons are defined and provided by the data steward.; abstract: This data represents the GIS Version of the Public Land Survey System including both rectangular and non-rectangular survey data. This polyline feature class contains the Inventory of Right of Way for Hillsborough County excluding Cities and Platted Areas. The drawings that make up the Hillsborough County Right of Way Inventory Program show platting, recording, mapping or other sources of right of way information where available. In areas where the maintained right of way limits were spotted and field data collected, the drawings provide that line work in the layer (Sv-rdrw-mant-lin, the "orange" layer) as located, in NAD 83 Adjustment of 1990 SPC grid. The field location documentation for the limits of maintained right of way layer is referenced in a separate XLS file with information as to when and by whom the limits of maintenance were spotted. The limits of maintained right of way are required to be used in the preparation of plats made to be recorded in Hillsborough County. In the case of right of way that is depicted in “modern plats” the State Plane Co-ordinate data shown on plats was used to incorporate these plats into the Hillsborough County Right of Way Inventory drawings.Definitions of Right of Way as used in the Hillsborough County Right of Way Inventory:1.) Right of Way by Deed - Right of Way Owned by Hillsborough County by a recorded deed specifically to Hillsborough County.2.) Right of Way by Plat - Right of Way that has been dedicated by a recorded subdivision plat.3.) Right of Way by Deed Exception - Right of Way whereby specific footage has been explicitly exempted from a deed.4.) Right of Way by Property Line - Right of Way whereby the property line defined by a deed follows the same line as the right of way so that both lines are co-incident.5.) Limits of Maintenance – The physical limits of the maintenance of a road as delineated by the Road and Street maintenance division of the Public Works Department, where no other right of way dedication exists or where the maintenance limits exceed the described property lines in a significant manner.
This layer is hand digitized polygon feature class depicting approved Limited Use Site Plans (LUSP) of Tallahassee and Leon County FL. A review of the best available science has determined that the Panama City crayfish meets the definition of threatened under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). The science indicates that the Panama City crayfish is likely to become an endangered species within the foreseeable future throughout all or a significant portion of its range. The final listing decision, 4(d) rule, critical habitat designation, and support documentation are available online at https://www.regulations.gov under Docket Nos. FWS-R4-ES-2017-0061 and FWS–R4–ES–2020–0137. Published in the Federal Register (https://www.federalregister.gov/) on January 5, 2022. (Document citation: 87 FR 546)The Endangered Species Act (ESA) defines critical habitat as the specific geographic areas that contain features essential to the conservation of an endangered or threatened species that may require special management and protection. Designating critical habitat under the ESA does not affect land ownership or establish a refuge, wilderness, reserve, preserve or other conservation area, nor does it allow the government or public to access private lands. Additionally, it would not affect private landowners unless they implement an action involving federal funds, permits, or activities. The final designation includes eight (8) units as critical habitat for the Panama City crayfish. They comprise 4,138 acres (1,675 hectares (ha)) of land, entirely within Bay County, Florida. All units are occupied or otherwise contain Panama City crayfish populations as of this listing. Each unit is considered essential to the conservation of the species. Any actions that may affect the species or habitat in these areas would also affect the designated critical habitat. However, the Service is unlikely to recommend additional conservation efforts to address the adverse modification standard beyond those already needed to avoid jeopardizing the species’ continued existence. There are no other existing critical habitat designation overlaps with the Panama City crayfish critical habitat.

The margin of error can be interpreted as providing a 90 percent probability that the interval defined by the estimate minus the margin of error and the estimate plus the margin of error (the lower and upper confidence bounds) contains the true value. In addition to sampling variability, the ACS estimates are subject to nonsampling error (for a discussion of nonsampling variability, see Accuracy of the Data). The effect of nonsampling error is not represented in these tables.Data Processing Notes:This layer is updated automatically when the most current vintage of ACS data is released each year, usually in December. The layer always contains the latest available ACS 5-year estimates. It is updated annually within days of the Census Bureau's release schedule. Click here to learn more about ACS data releases.Boundaries come from the US Census TIGER geodatabases, specifically, the National Sub-State Geography Database (named tlgdb_(year)_a_us_substategeo.gdb). Boundaries are updated at the same time as the data updates (annually), and the boundary vintage appropriately matches the data vintage as specified by the Census. These are Census boundaries with water and/or coastlines erased for cartographic and mapping purposes. For census tracts, the water cutouts are derived from a subset of the 2020 Areal Hydrography boundaries offered by TIGER. Water bodies and rivers which are 50 million square meters or larger (mid to large sized water bodies) are erased from the tract level boundaries, as well as additional important features. For state and county boundaries, the water and coastlines are derived from the coastlines of the 2023 500k TIGER Cartographic Boundary Shapefiles. These are erased to more accurately portray the coastlines and Great Lakes. The original AWATER and ALAND fields are still available as attributes within the data table (units are square meters). The States layer contains 52 records - all US states, Washington D.C., and Puerto RicoCensus tracts with no population that occur in areas of water, such as oceans, are removed from this data service (Census Tracts beginning with 99).Percentages and derived counts, and associated margins of error, are calculated values (that can be identified by the "_calc_" stub in the field name), and abide by the specifications defined by the American Community Survey.Field alias names were created based on the Table Shells file available from the American Community Survey Summary File Documentation page.Negative values (e.g., -4444...) have been set to null, with the exception of -5555... which has been set to zero. These negative values exist in the raw API data to indicate the following situations:The margin of error column indicates that either no sample observations or too few sample observations were available to compute a standard error and thus the margin of error. A statistical test is not appropriate.Either no sample observations or too few sample observations were available to compute an estimate, or a ratio of medians cannot be calculated because one or both of the median estimates falls in the lowest interval or upper interval of an open-ended distribution. The median falls in the lowest interval of an open-ended distribution, or in the upper interval of an open-ended distribution. A statistical test is not appropriate. The estimate is controlled. A statistical test for sampling variability is not appropriate. The data for this geographic area cannot be displayed because the number of sample cases is too small.
