    Description

    This map service provides maps depicting the latest surface weather and marine weather observations at observing sites using the international station model. The station model is a method for representing information collected at an observing station using symbols and numbers. The station model depicts current weather conditions, cloud cover, wind speed, wind direction, visibility, air temperature, dew point temperature, sea surface water temperature, significant wave height, air pressure adjusted to mean sea level, and the change in air pressure over the last 3 hours. The circle in the model is centered over the latitude and longitude coordinates of the station. The total cloud cover is expressed as a fraction of cloud covering the sky and is indicated by the amount of circle filled in; Wind speed and direction are represented by a wind barb whose line extends from the cover cloud circle towards the direction from which the wind is blowing. The observations included in this map service are organized into three separate group layers: 1) Wind velocity (wind barb) observations, 2) Cloud Cover observations, and 3) All other observations, which are displayed as numerical values (e.g. Air Temperature, Wind Gust, Visibility, Sea Surface Temperature, etc.). Additionally, due to the density of weather/ocean observations in this map service, each of these group data layers has been split into ten individual "Scale Band" layers, with each one visible for a certain range of map scales. Thus, to ensure observations are displayed at any scale, users should make sure to always specify all six corresponding scale band layers in every map request. This will result in the scale band most appropriate for your present zoom level being shown, resulting in a clean, uncluttered display. As you zoom in, additional observations will appear. The observations in this service are updated approximately every 10 minutes. However, since the reporting frequency varies by network or station, the observations for a particular station may update only once per hour.

    Description

    Statistical analyses and maps representing mean, high, and low water-level conditions in the surface water and groundwater of Miami-Dade County were made by the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the Miami-Dade County Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources, to help inform decisions necessary for urban planning and development. Sixteen maps were created that show contours of (1) the mean of daily water levels at each site during October and May for the 2000-2009 water years; (2) the 25th, 50th, and 75th percentiles of the daily water levels at each site during October and May and for all months during 2000-2009; and (3) the differences between mean October and May water levels, as well as the differences in the percentiles of water levels for all months, between 1990-1999 and 2000-2009. The 80th, 90th, and 96th percentiles of the annual maximums of daily groundwater levels during 1974-2009 (a 35-year period) were computed to provide an indication of unusually high groundwater-level conditions. These maps and statistics provide a generalized understanding of the variations of water levels in the aquifer, rather than a survey of concurrent water levels. Water-level measurements from 473 sites in Miami-Dade County and surrounding counties were analyzed to generate statistical analyses. The monitored water levels included surface-water levels in canals and wetland areas and groundwater levels in the Biscayne aquifer. Maps were created by importing site coordinates, summary water-level statistics, and completeness of record statistics into a geographic information system, and by interpolating between water levels at monitoring sites in the canals and water levels along the coastline. Raster surfaces were created from these data by using the triangular irregular network interpolation method. The raster surfaces were contoured by using geographic information system software. These contours were imprecise in some areas because the software could not fully evaluate the hydrology given available information; therefore, contours were manually modified where necessary. The ability to evaluate differences in water levels between 1990-1999 and 2000-2009 is limited in some areas because most of the monitoring sites did not have 80 percent complete records for one or both of these periods. The quality of the analyses was limited by (1) deficiencies in spatial coverage; (2) the combination of pre- and post-construction water levels in areas where canals, levees, retention basins, detention basins, or water-control structures were installed or removed; (3) an inability to address the potential effects of the vertical hydraulic head gradient on water levels in wells of different depths; and (4) an inability to correct for the differences between daily water-level statistics. Contours are dashed in areas where the locations of contours have been approximated because of the uncertainty caused by these limitations. Although the ability of the maps to depict differences in water levels between 1990-1999 and 2000-2009 was limited by missing data, results indicate that near the coast water levels were generally higher in May during 2000-2009 than during 1990-1999; and that inland water levels were generally lower during 2000-2009 than during 1990-1999. Generally, the 25th, 50th, and 75th percentiles of water levels from all months were also higher near the coast and lower inland during 2000–2009 than during 1990-1999. Mean October water levels during 2000-2009 were generally higher than during 1990-1999 in much of western Miami-Dade County, but were lower in a large part of eastern Miami-Dade County.

    This map features a set of live feature layers of OpenStreetMap (OSM) data for North America. The layers are updated every few minutes with the latest OSM data. The map contains bookmarks for several large cities in North America that you can browse, but you can explore any part of Canada, Greenland, Mexico, or the United States to see the OSM data in each layer.The feature layers in this map provide access to OSM data that is updated continuously by OSM contributors. The layers in this map are hosted feature layer views. The feature layer views each reference a hosted feature layer of OSM data (point, line, or polygon) in ArcGIS Online, which are updated with minutely diffs from the OSM planet file. The feature layers represent different types of features (e.g. buildings, highways, amenities) that are defined as a query against one of the hosted feature layers.These layers are intended for visualization, analysis, and (eventually) export of the OSM data. Users can click on the features to get 'popup' info about a feature based on tags that have been applied by OSM contributors. Users can also change the symbology of features, or filter features by attributes, to highlight specific types of features (e.g. schools or hospitals).The layers have an automatic refresh interval of varying lengths so they will display new features, or update existing features, in the map as edits are made by other OSM contributors and refreshed in the layer cache. The layers have cache control settings ranging between 1 and 15 minutes, depending on update frequency, in order to optimize display performance and scalability.You can edit the OSM data through the OpenStreetMap Web site or other OSM editors such as RapiD. The layer popups include links to view or edit individual features in the OpenStreetMap Web site.     Abstract

    This dataset and its metadata statement were supplied to the Bioregional Assessment Programme by a third party and are presented here as originally supplied.

    Dataset contains framework layers compiled for representation on state reference map, scale 1:1.5 million. Line and polygon features only. Road, rail, waterbody and watercourse themes included. State coastline not included.

    Purpose

    Can be used as a framework layer for whole of state mapping or for a generalised framework for regional mapping. Not suitable for analysis.

    Dataset History

    Information was compiled and digitised in generalised form from 1:250 000 scale hard copy maps. The individual CAD files were combined into seamless form and converted to Lambert Conformal Conic projection, standard parallels 29 degrees and 35 degrees S, central meridian 135 degrees E. Subsequently the information was converted to GIS format and re-projected to the state standard LCC projection.

    Description

    With our view services, you can use Lantmäteriet’s maps in your own systems or applications. The viewing services can be combined with our other geodata services. The service provides access to a topographic web map adapted for screen viewing. The map information is divided into 15 types of information. Each of the types of information, except cross-country shadowing, is available in two layers. A layer where the information is presented prominently and coloured and one in which the information is presented in a grey scale. The information is updated at different intervals depending on the type of information and the scale. Scale ranges up to 1:20 000 are updated at least daily. Scale ranges above 1:20 000 are updated at least quarterly. Text is updated at least daily.

    A forecast map layer covering the UK showing precipitation. Precipitation is any product of the condensation of atmospheric water vapour that falls under gravity. The main forms of precipitation include drizzle, rain, sleet, snow and hail. Single tile map layer images are provided three hourly from T+0 to T+36. The map layer is provided without a map, the boundary box for this image is 48 to 61 degrees north and 12 degrees west to 5 degrees east. The image layers are currently made available in a Mercator projection, it is the same projection used by Bing maps, OpenStreetMap, Google maps, MapQuest, Yahoo maps, and others.

    This layer features special areas of interest (AOIs) that have been contributed to Esri Community Maps using the new Community Maps Editor app. The data that is accepted by Esri will be included in selected Esri basemaps, including our suite of Esri Vector Basemaps, and made available through this layer to export and use offline. Export DataThe contributed data is also available for contributors and other users to export (or extract) and re-use for their own purposes. Esri recommends updating your maps and apps to use the new version.ArcticDEM is a National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and National Science Foundation (NSF) public-private initiative to automatically produce a high-resolution, high-quality Digital Surface Model (DSM) of the Arctic using sub-meter, stereoscopic satellite imagery collected by DigitalGlobe’s satellite constellation.The Arctic DEM layer is rendered here as Aspect Map. Using the server-side aspect function, this layer provides a colorized representation of aspect. The orientation of the downward sloping surface is indicated by different colors, rotating from green (North) to blue (East), to magenta (South) to orange (West).Geographic ExtentAll land area north of 60° north latitude, including all territory of Greenland, the entire state of Alaska, and the Kamchatka Peninsula of the Russian Federation.Map ProjectionThis layer is projected to WGS 1984 EPSG Alaska Polar Stereographic.The source data is projected to WGS 84 / NSIDC Sea Ice Polar Stereographic North.NOTE: By default, opening this layer in the Map Viewer will project the layer to Web Mercator.     This map page grid was designed and implemented by the Los Angeles County Fire Department, Information Management Division, and Geographic Information Systems Section. Wholly based on the United States National Grid (USNG), it aims to be the Los Angeles County regional grid because of its ease of use and extensive coverage.

    Each block measures 2,000 meters by 2,000 meters and are comprised of four 1,000 meter/1 kilometer USNG blocks. i.e. 11SLT4771, 11SLT4871, 11SLT4770 and 11SLT4870; left to right and up to down. For ease of use each 2,000 meter block is designated by a page number from 1 to 9,750, and it is inferred that the 1,000 meter divisions of each page are designated A, B, C or D; left to right and up to down. Therefore, each 1,000 meter block within this regional grid has a unique descriptor of 4 numerals and 1 letter.

    The region covered by the grid includes Los Angeles County completely and 2 of the islands in the Channel Islands archipelago that fall into the Los Angeles County jurisdiction. It also covers close to 100% of Orange County, 50% of Ventura County, and the Los Angeles County adjacent portions of Kern County, San Bernardino County and Riverside County, and a portion of Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton in Northwest San Diego County.

Description

This map service provides maps depicting the latest surface weather and marine weather observations at observing sites using the international station model. The station model is a method for representing information collected at an observing station using symbols and numbers. The station model depicts current weather conditions, cloud cover, wind speed, wind direction, visibility, air temperature, dew point temperature, sea surface water temperature, significant wave height, air pressure adjusted to mean sea level, and the change in air pressure over the last 3 hours. The circle in the model is centered over the latitude and longitude coordinates of the station. The total cloud cover is expressed as a fraction of cloud covering the sky and is indicated by the amount of circle filled in; Wind speed and direction are represented by a wind barb whose line extends from the cover cloud circle towards the direction from which the wind is blowing. The observations included in this map service are organized into three separate group layers: 1) Wind velocity (wind barb) observations, 2) Cloud Cover observations, and 3) All other observations, which are displayed as numerical values (e.g. Air Temperature, Wind Gust, Visibility, Sea Surface Temperature, etc.). Additionally, due to the density of weather/ocean observations in this map service, each of these group data layers has been split into ten individual "Scale Band" layers, with each one visible for a certain range of map scales. Thus, to ensure observations are displayed at any scale, users should make sure to always specify all six corresponding scale band layers in every map request. This will result in the scale band most appropriate for your present zoom level being shown, resulting in a clean, uncluttered display. As you zoom in, additional observations will appear. The observations in this service are updated approximately every 10 minutes. However, since the reporting frequency varies by network or station, the observations for a particular station may update only once per hour.
