The Energy Bills Rebate Scheme aims to support households with a £150 non-repayable Council Tax Energy Rebate in Council Tax bands A to D, and a Discretionary Energy Bill Rebate to support vulnerable households in need.The rebate is applicable to the financial year 2022/23.This dataset shows the amounts and number of awards provided for by the grant made to the council by the government and the current status of the council's progress in passing this to households.This dataset is supported by the Energy Rebate Scheme - Ward Data dataset which presents a breakdown of this data at a ward level. A map view of this data is shown under the "Ward Map" tab.The scheme is now closed.

Waste rates for Leicester CityTotal % diversion is the amount that is diverted from landfill by recycling, reuse, composting and refuse derived fuel for energy recovery.Note: In the financial year 2017/18 the plant used to treat black bag waste was unavailable for an extended period in quarter 4 due to breakdowns. As a result less compost was produced.

Support to providers that the council has contracts with. In addition to financial support the Council has developed a voluntary workforce scheme to support the care homes using volunteers sourced from both local authority staff and individuals from the voluntary and community sector. Several volunteers are currently working in the homes, with a number subsequently taking up full time employment as care workers. The City Council also operates a 24/7 Integrated Crisis Response Service to facilitate hospital discharges and community step up. If needed, this team can be redirected to support failing care homes as part of the Council’s emergency response service, in addition to the Council’s Reablement Service*(from Fee uplifts in dataset) The Council has paid fee uplifts to cover the additional operating costs of self-funder residents in care homes as well as those clients who are fully or part funded by Adult Social Care

The Local Support Grant (LSG) was a fund provided by the Department for Work and Pensions and administered by local authorities in England.The purpose of the grant was to support those households which had been economically affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and sought to provide immediate short term relief in the form of awards to these people.The criteria for allocation of funds was dictated by the DWP and awards could be given to support the provision of food, payments of energy and water bills and other essential items required by households.The scheme ran from the 1st April 2021 through to the 30th September 2021.This dataset is supported by the "Local Support Grant Ward Data" dataset which provides a lower level of detail than this summary set. This set shows how the fund was distributed between the categories provided by the DWP by the type of award made be that to a household / school, or via a third party organisation.
