S. Geological Survey COGEOMAP program. The Geodatabase specifies feature datasets and feature classes, together with feature attributes, subtypes and domains, suitable for a variety of geologic maps. In addition to basic geology (lithology, contacts and faults, etc.), the maps may include metamorphic overprints, cross sections, and explanatory legend-graphics such as correlation charts, used to supplement columnar legends. TwitterCounty Geologic Atlases (CGA) are prepared jointly by the Minnesota Geological Survey (MGS) and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Part A of each county atlas is completed by the MGS and provides a detailed account of geologic materials in the county. Part B of each county atlas is completed by the Minnesota DNR and shows groundwater and hydrology information. This story map focuses on Lincoln County ( full publication ). The CGA provides information essential to sustainable management of groundwater resources for applications such as monitoring, water allocation, permitting, remediation, and well construction. The maps and Geographic Information Science (GIS) data define aquifer properties and boundaries, as well as the connection of aquifers to the land surface and to the surface-water resources. It also provide a broad range of information on county geology, mineral resources (including construction materials), and natural history.

The data release for geologic maps of Ravalli Group and other Mesoproterozoic Belt Supergroup strata in northern Idaho and northwestern Montana is a digital, Geologic Map Schema (GeMS)-compliant version of maps published in U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Open-File Report 2001-438 (Boleneus and others, 2001). The new digital data include attribute tables and geospatial features (points, lines, and polygons) in the format that meets GeMS requirements. This data release presents the geologic maps as shown on the plates and captured in geospatial data for the published maps. The database represents the geology for the 2.7 million acre, geologically complex study area in eleven plates at a publication scale of 1:48,000, and two plates at a publication scale of 1:12,000. The maps cover primarily Sanders, Shoshone, Kootenai, and Lincoln Counties, but also include minor parts of Benewah and Bonner Counties. Geologic mapping was undertaken between 1979 and 1984 by ASARCO Inc. as part of the ...

TwitterThe TIGER/Line Files are shapefiles and related database files (.dbf) that are an extract of selected geographic and cartographic information from the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File / Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) Database (MTDB). The MTDB represents a seamless national file with no overlaps or gaps between parts, however, each TIGER/Line File is designed to stand alone as an independent data set, or they can be combined to cover the entire nation. Edge refers to the linear topological primitives that make up MTDB. The All Lines Shapefile contains linear features such as roads, railroads, and hydrography. Additional attribute data associated with the linear features found in the All Lines Shapefile are available in relationship (.dbf) files that users must download separately. The All Lines Shapefile contains the geometry and attributes of each topological primitive edge. Each edge has a unique TIGER/Line identifier (TLID) value.
