    Description

    Orthophotography within the Waikato Region captured in the summer flying seasons between 2020 and 2024. The area of capture is located within the upper North Island and encompasses all or part of 11 territorial authorities. It also includes parts of Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay and Manawatū-Whanganui.

    Imagery was captured for Waikato Regional Aerial Photography Service (WRAPS) 2021 by Aerial Surveys Ltd.

    Data comprises: • 3733 ortho-rectified RGB GeoTIFF images in NZTM projection, tiled into the LINZ Standard 1:5000 tile layout • Tile layout in NZTM projection containing relevant information.

    The supplied imagery is in terms of New Zealand Transverse Mercator (NZTM) map projection. Please refer to the tile index layer for specific details, naming conventions, etc.

    Imagery supplied as 30cm pixel resolution (0.3m GSD), 3-band (RGB) uncompressed GeoTIFF. The final spatial accuracy is ±0.5 at 95% confidence level in clear flat areas.

    This dataset provides a seamless cloud-free 10m resolution satellite imagery layer of the New Zealand mainland and offshore islands.

    The imagery was captured by the European Space Agency Sentinel-2 satellites between September 2022 - April 2023.

    Data comprises: • 450 ortho-rectified RGB GeoTIFF images in NZTM projection, tiled into the LINZ Standard 1:50000 tile layout. • Satellite sensors: ESA Sentinel-2A and Sentinel-2B • Acquisition dates: September 2022 - April 2023 • Spectral resolution: R, G, B • Spatial resolution: 10 meters • Radiometric resolution: 8-bits (downsampled from 12-bits)

    Description

    The National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research Limited (NIWA) contracted Landpro Ltd to capture imagery over storm damaged sites in the Waikato region as part of the North Island Weather Event (NIWE) project.

    Capture was completed between 9th Nov 2023 and 19th March 2024.

    Data comprises: • 2090 ortho-rectified RGB GeoTIFF images in NZTM projection, tiled into the LINZ Standard 1:5000 tile layout. • Tile layout in NZTM projection containing relevant information.

    Imagery supplied as 30cm pixel resolution (0.3m GSD). The final spatial accuracy is +/- 1m at 95% confidence.
