For more information, see the Terrestrial Biodiversity Factsheet at https://nrm.dfg.ca.gov/FileHandler.ashx?DocumentID=150831.The California Department of Fish and Wildlife’s (CDFW) Areas of Conservation Emphasis (ACE) is a compilation and analysis of the best-available statewide spatial information in California on biodiversity, rarity and endemism, harvested species, significant habitats, connectivity and wildlife movement, climate vulnerability, climate refugia, and other relevant data (e.g., other conservation priorities such as those identified in the State Wildlife Action Plan (SWAP), stressors, land ownership). ACE addresses both terrestrial and aquatic data. The ACE model combines and analyzes terrestrial information in a 2.5 square mile hexagon grid and aquatic information at the HUC12 watershed level across the state to produce a series of maps for use in non-regulatory evaluation of conservation priorities in California. The model addresses as many of CDFWs statewide conservation and recreational mandates as feasible using high quality data sources. High value areas statewide and in each USDA Ecoregion were identified. The ACE maps and data can be viewed in the ACE online map viewer, or downloaded for use in ArcGIS. For more detailed information see https://www.wildlife.ca.gov/Data/Analysis/ACEand https://nrm.dfg.ca.gov/FileHandler.ashx?DocumentID=24326.

Procedure for classification L 214-17 of the Environmental Code The orders for classifying watercourses in List 1 and List 2 under Article L.214-17 of the Environmental Code were signed on 10 July 2012 by the Prefect Coordinator of the Loire-Bretagne Basin and published in the Official Journal on July 22. The procedure conducted by the prefect coordinator of the Loire-Bretagne basin was launched in April 2010. This new ranking of watercourses contributes to the implementation of the 2010-2015 Sdage, integrating the challenges related to ecological continuity and framing of the various European regulations. The definition of this new classification was first marked by departmental consultations with water stakeholders and a study of the impact of rankings on uses, which made it possible to understand the economic and environmental costs and benefits, both merchant and non-market, brought by the classification. In a second step, and after harmonisation at the basin level, the classification project was submitted for consultation with the General Councils, the Regions, the Territorial Public Establishments of Basin and the Local Water Commissions.

    Description

During summer 2019, botanists with the Maine Natural Areas Program collected data from 94 vegetation plots for plant community characterization. The sampling data were entered into the National Park Service PLOTS version 4.0 (National Park Service 2015) for analyses to characterize vegetation associations in the U.S. National Vegetation Classification. An accuracy assessment was performed on the draft version of the vegetation map layer. During the summer of 2020, field crews collected data from 107 stratified and randomly selected sites for evaluating the accuracy of the vegetation map layer for those map classes representing U.S. National Vegetation Classification associations. The accuracy assessment field data were then compared to the vegetation map data. Results from the accuracy assessment study show an overall accuracy of 87.6% (kappa index of 87.0%) based on an analysis of data from 105 of the 107 accuracy assessment sites.

Note that this list was published prior to the completion of the series and thus was intended as a progress report. The R502 series of maps has been replaced by the National Topographic Map Series (NTMS). The R502 series consists of 542 map sheets and covers Australia at a scale of 1:250,000. It was compiled from aerial photography, but only about one quarter of the series was contoured. The standard sheet size is 1 degree of latitude by 1.5 degrees of longitude. Transverse Mercator map projection and Clark 1858 datum were used. Coverage of the country was completed in 1968.

The Risk Prevention Plans (PPR) were established by the Act of 2 February 1995 on strengthening the protection of the environment. They are the key instrument of the State in the field of risk prevention. Their objective is to monitor development in areas exposed to a major risk. The PPRs are approved by the prefects and generally carried out by the departmental directorates of the territories (DDT). These plans regulate land use or land use through construction prohibitions or requirements on existing or future buildings (constructive provisions, vulnerability reduction work, restrictions on use or agricultural practices, etc.).These plans may be under development (prescribed), implemented in advance or approved. The PPR file contains a presentation note, a regulatory zoning plan and a regulation. Other graphic documents that are useful for understanding the approach (e.g. hazards, issues, etc.) can be attached. Each PPR is identified by a polygon that corresponds to the set of affected municipalities within the scope of the prescription when it is in the prescribed state; and the envelope of restricted areas when it is in the approved state. This geographical table allows mapping existing PPRNs on the department. Each PPRN document existing in the N_DOCUMENT_PPRN geographical table is linked with its GASPAR code in the format “ddd[PREF|DDT|DDTM|DREAL]aaaannnn” (AAAA and NNNN correspond to the reference year and order number of the associated PPR procedure in GASPAR): 1. its administrative procedure for the preparation (or revision) managed in the GASPAR application, on the one hand, 2. its set of numerical spatial constituent data described by the metadata sheet N_PPRN_AAAANNNN (#0001495) on the other hand.

    Description

The Energetic Gamma-Ray Experiment Telescope (EGRET), which operated from 1991-April until 2000-May, was sensitive to photons in the energy range from about 30 MeV to over 20 GeV, the highest energies accessible by the CGRO instruments, and, like COMPTEL, was an imaging instrument. This catalog includes photon lists in qvp files, with one file for each EGRET viewing period. Photons which pass an energy-dependent cut on zenith angle (to exclude earth-albedo gamma rays) are processed into maps of photon counts for a standard set of energy ranges. Exposure and intensity (counts divided by exposure) maps are generated for each counts map. The counts maps typically include photons detected up to 40 degrees from the instrument axis. Most analysis has been done using data within 30 degrees of the instrument axis, where the point-spread function is narrower and the effective area greater than further off axis. All EGRET data files in the archive are the final versions, produced after the end of the mission. More detailed information about EGRET, EGRET data, and EGRET data analysis software can be found at:
