    Description

    These datasets present annual land and crop areas, livestock populations and agricultural workforce estimates broken down by farm type, size and region. More detailed geographical breakdowns and maps are updated every 3 to 4 years when a larger sample supports the increased level of detail. Longer term comparisons are available via links in the Historical timeseries section at the bottom of this page.

    The results are sourced from the annual June Survey of Agriculture and Horticulture. The survey captures data at the farm holding level (historically based on individual farm locations) so most data is presented on this basis. Multiple farm holdings can be owned by a single farm business, so the number of farm holdings has also been aggregated to farm businesses level as a way of estimating the number of overall farming enterprises for England only.

    Key land use & crop areas, livestock populations and agricultural workforce on individual farm holdings in England broken down by farm type or farm size bands and for the UK broken down by farm size bands.

    Farm businesses

    Number of farm businesses by farm business type and region in England. Individual farm holdings are aggregated to a business level. In most cases, a farm business is made up of a single farm holding, but some businesses are responsible for multiple farm holdings, often in different locations.

    English geographical breakdowns

    Key land use & crop areas, livestock populations and agricultural workforce on individual farm holdings in England broken down by various geographical boundaries.

    The Local Authority dataset was re-published on 15th April 2025 to correct an error with the 2024 data.

    Description

    From the perspective of agricultural industrialization, based on China’s provincial data from 2006 to 2022, it studies the impact of financial inclusion on farmers’ income. We have found that financial inclusion can effectively promote the growth of farmers’ income, and this effect shows the heterogeneity of different income structures, income levels, and regional types. More importantly, agricultural industrialization is an important mechanism for financial inclusion to promote farmers’ income growth. However, the interactive effect of financial inclusion and agricultural industrialization has not promoted the growth of farmers’ income, indicating that there are certain structural problems in the current development of financial inclusion. We suggest that the development of financial inclusion should aim at the agricultural industrialization based on division of labor and cooperation. It can focus on supporting the development of local leading industries with regional comparative advantages, guide farmers to enter the agricultural industry chain, and improve farmers’ opportunities to share economic results.

    Oregon’s Agricultural Water Quality Management Act (Act) was passed in 1993, with the input and support of the agricultural industry and the Oregon Board of Agriculture, to help farmers and ranchers address water pollution.This legislation is the foundation of the Oregon Department of Agriculture’s (ODA) Agricultural Water Quality Management Program(Program). The Act directed ODA to assist the industry in preventing and controlling pollution from agricultural sources. Working in partnership with Oregon’s 45 local Soil and Water Conservation Districts (SWCDs), ODA identified 38 watershed-based Agricultural Water Quality Management Areas(Management Areas) throughout the state. ODA Water Quality Specialists work with farmers, ranchers, community leaders, and other stakeholders who serve as Local Advisory Committee (LAC) members for each Management Area. Each LAC identifies local agricultural water quality problems and opportunities for improvement. The 38 resulting Agricultural Water Quality Management Area Plans (Area Plans) address agricultural water quality issues in Oregon. As the LACs helped create the plans, they also helped write Area Rules (regulations) for that Management Area. The regulations ensure that all landowners do their part to prevent and control water pollution. The Program is designed to help anyone engaged in agricultural activities prevent water pollution.

Data-Planet™ Statistical Datasets by Conquest Systems, Inc. Dataset-ID: 003-017-012 Dataset: Presents annual estimates of farm income and expenses for states and counties in the United States. Farm Income comprises the net income of sole proprietors, partners,and hired laborers arising directly from the current production of agricultural commodities, either livestock or crops. It includes net farm proprietors' income and the wages and salaries, pay-in-kind, and supplements to wages and salaries of hired farm laborers, but specifically excludes the income of farm corporations. Farm production expenses are expenditures incurred by farm operators in the production of agricultural commodities, including livestock and crops. The major categories of production expenses are intermediate product expenses, which provide inputs to the production process (feed, livestock and poultry, seed, fertilizer, etc.), labor expenses, and other expenses (interest, net rent paid to non-operator landlords, capital consumption, property taxes, etc.). Presents annual estimates of personal income and employment for states and counties in the Untied States. These estimates are developed as part of the Bureau of Economic Analysis Regional Economic Accounts program. Estimates of compensation and earning by industry and place of work indicate the economic activity of establishments within the local area. Estimates of personal income by place of residence provide a measure of fiscal capacity and an indicator of the economic well-being of the residents of an area. The county estimates of personal income are designed to be conceptually and statistically consistent with the national estimates of personal income in the National Income and Product Accounts (NIPA). Differences between the NIPA estimates and the regional accounts estimates are due to differences in coverage and timing of the availability of source data; eg, the NIPA measure of personal income is broader than county personal income. The state and county personal income and employment estimates are based primarily on administrative records data, and also use some survey and census data. Note that, effective with the November 21, 2013 release of BEA's LAPI statistics, the following statistical detail will not be updated or made available: 1) local area employment by industry; 2) statistics for "BEA Economic Areas"; 3) detailed statistics on personal current transfer receipts; and 4) detailed statistics on farm income and expenses. In addition, industry detail on compensation and earnings has been reduced from 108 industries to 25 industries. Description

These datasets present annual land and crop areas, livestock populations and agricultural workforce estimates broken down by farm type, size and region. More detailed geographical breakdowns and maps are updated every 3 to 4 years when a larger sample supports the increased level of detail. Longer term comparisons are available via links in the Historical timeseries section at the bottom of this page.

The results are sourced from the annual June Survey of Agriculture and Horticulture. The survey captures data at the farm holding level (historically based on individual farm locations) so most data is presented on this basis. Multiple farm holdings can be owned by a single farm business, so the number of farm holdings has also been aggregated to farm businesses level as a way of estimating the number of overall farming enterprises for England only.

Farm businesses

Number of farm businesses by farm business type and region in England. Individual farm holdings are aggregated to a business level. In most cases, a farm business is made up of a single farm holding, but some businesses are responsible for multiple farm holdings, often in different locations.

English geographical breakdowns

Key land use & crop areas, livestock populations and agricultural workforce on individual farm holdings in England broken down by various geographical boundaries.

The Local Authority dataset was re-published on 15th April 2025 to correct an error with the 2024 data.
