This data asset provides the geographic boundaries the City of Austin's City Council Districts, including detailed district shapes and associated geographic coordinates. It is essential for understanding political representation and local governance within the city. Following each census, Detroit City Council is required by the 2012 Detroit City Charter to redraw the boundaries of the City's seven non at-large districts to be "as nearly of equal population as practicable, contiguous, compact and in accordance with any other criteria permitted by law" (Sec. 3-108). After considering six district boundary proposals meant to meet these criteria, City Council selected the boundaries described in this document by an 8-1 vote on February 6, 2024. These boundaries will be used to determine resident districts when voting in 2025 municipal elections, and will officially take effect January 1, 2026.

Champaign City Council districts with name of current Council Member

Merge of Department of Statistics Meshblock Level 1 boundaries and Topo Coastline, plus Chatham Islands to give a better map of the land area for each Territorial Local Authority (TLA). Unitary Authorities are also clipped for their TLA role. TLA boundaries are MHWS which is not mapped in the Cadastral database and is only approximate using the 1:50,000 coastline and island borders, but it is better than the generalised meshblocks. Reloaded to fix topology error that merged Kapiti and Porirua.

This map layer represents the City Council Districts for the City of Bloomington, Indiana. Bloomington contains six representative council districts, numbered one (1) through six (6). Boundaries are set by City ordinance. Districts are based on voting precincts and the municipal boundary. Any additional area annexed by the city are placed in council districts defined by the annexation ordinance. District boundaries may be altered by council action but done rarely other than the redistricting process that follows the Decennial US Census.

Notable changes in the May 2025 release

• Victorian Wards have seen almost half of the dataset change now reflecting the boundaries from the 2024 subdivision review. https://www.vec.vic.gov.au/electoral-boundaries/council-reviews/ subdivision-reviews.

  • There have been spatial changes (area) greater than 1 km2 to 66 wards in Victoria.

• One new locality ‘Kenwick Island’ has been added to the local Government area ‘Mackay Regional’ in Queensland.

  • There have been spatial changes(area) greater than 1 km2 to the local government areas 'Burke Shire' and 'Mount Isa City' in Queensland.

• There have been spatial changes(area) greater than 1 km2 to the localities ‘Nicholson’, ‘Lawn Hill’ and ‘Coral Sea’ in Queensland and ‘Calguna’, ‘Israelite Bay’ and ‘Balladonia’ in Western Australia.

• An update to the NT Commonwealth Electoral Boundaries has been applied to reflect the redistribution of the boundaries gazetted on 4 March 2025.

• Geoscape has become aware that the DATE_CREATED and DATE_RETIRED attributes in the commonwealth_electoral_polygon MapInfo TAB tables were incorrectly ordered and did not match the product data model. These attributes have been re-ordered to match the data model for the May 2025 release.

IMPORTANT NOTE: correction of issues with the 22 November 2022 release

• On 28 November 2022, the Administrative Boundaries dataset originally released on 22 November 2022 was amended and re-uploaded after Geoscape identified some issues with the original data for 'Electoral Boundaries'.
• As a result of the error, some shapefiles were published in 3D rather than 2D, which may affect some users when importing data into GIS applications.
• The error affected the Electoral Boundaries dataset, specifically the Commonwealth boundary data for Victoria and Western Australia, including 'All States'.
• Only the ESRI Shapefile formats were affected (both GDA94 and GDA2020). The MapInfo TAB format was not affected.
• Because the datasets are zipped into a single file, once the error was fixed by Geoscape all of Administrative Boundaries shapefiles had to be re-uploaded, rather than only the affected files.
• If you downloaded either of the two Administrative Boundary ESRI Shapefiles between 22 November and 28 November 2022 and plan to use the Electoral Boundary component, you are advised to download the revised version dated 28 November 2022. Apologies for any inconvenience.

Dunwoody City Council District Boundaries. Dunwoody City Council consists of six members. Three members of City Council represent local districts and three more members must reside in the district boundary but run at large (the whole city).

This dataset contains two versions of the map of Pittsburgh City Council Districts, the current one (dating from 2022) and an earlier one (dating from 2012), each in multiple formats.
