This work product represents an administrative geographical inventory of incorporated city boundaries as registered and filed at the office of the Secretary of State for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and is not intended to be used as a definitive or accurate source for the legal location of any real estate boundary, whether through coincidental or relative reference, as interpreted or implied from the recorded definitions of the boundary lines conveyed herein. Not all boundaries have not been verified against official annexation actions or deed descriptions.

The Louisville Neighborhoods layer consists of polygons representing approximate boundaries and extents of historical and cultural neighborhoods within the pre-merger limits of the City of Louisville, or post-merger Urban Service District. Each polygon carries attributes for neighborhood name and code. The names and boundaries are based on a federal urban neighborhood mapping grant from the late 1970's. The Urban Service District is the old City of Louisville boundary before the City of Louisville and Jefferson County merged in 2003. This area is still used as a taxing district which provides special services like fire protection and solid waste pickup services. View detailed metadata.
