This statistic shows the ten biggest cities in Canada in 2020, by number of inhabitants. In 2020, approximately 2.73 million people lived in Toronto, making it the biggest city in Canada.

Canada's largest metropolitan area is Toronto, in Ontario. In 2022. Over 6.6 million people were living in the Toronto metropolitan area. Montréal, in Quebec, followed with about 4.4 million inhabitants, while Vancouver, in Britsh Columbia, counted 2.8 million people as of 2022.

A dataset comprising the price, address, number of bathrooms, number of bedrooms, city, and province of real estate listings for Canada's top 45 most populous cities, according to the 2021 census.

Variables:

1. City: City or major metropolitan area within which listings were found. For example, Toronto may include listings from surrounding suburbs such as Markham, Oakville, etc.
2. Price: Listed price for the property in Canadian dollars.
3. Address: Street address and, where applicable, unit number for the listing.
4. Number_Beds: Number of bedrooms mentioned in the listing.
5. Number_Baths: Number of bathrooms mentioned in the listing.
6. Province: Province in which each city resides. Note, border towns such as Ottawa do not include listings from the surrounding out-of-province cities like Gatineau.
7. Population: City population. According to simplemaps (https://simplemaps.com/data/canada-cities)
8. Longitude / Latitude: Longitude and Latitude data for individual cities, taken from simpelmaps (https://simplemaps.com/data/canada-cities)
9. Median_Family_Income: Median household income for the city taken from the 2021 Canadian census.

This dataset can be used for basic linear regression problems or for basic exploratory data analysis.

Data is currently representative of prices as of October 29th 2023. Future updates will occur monthly.

Context The housing market in Canada has increased tremendously over the past year. This is the dataset contains information on the Canadian housing market from 2021-2022. I think this is a good introductory dataset for learning data visualization and analyzing tabular data.

Content The data is specific to the cost of detached houses in Canada based on data provided by several provincial realtors. There are two datasets. The first is the average home price in Canadian provinces. The columns are as follows,

The collection of geolocated placenames in Canada represents a consistent and comprehensive distribution of named places across Canada. Named places include large and small cities, villages, First Nations Communities, Small Hamlets etc. This data draws from public information maintained by Natural Resources Canada as part of the Canadian Geographical Names Database and public information maintained by Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada. The set of geolocated placenames is currently used for the administration of rural broadband Internet contribution programs, but is equally applicable for other mapping or modelling purposes where a comprehensive set of geolocated placenames across Canada is required.

Canadian Bitcoin ATMs in November 2025 are mostly found in the big cities: Toronto, for instance, had almost *** more ATMs than Montreal. Toronto and Montreal are two of only five cities in the country that had more *** cryptocurrency installations. These ATMs are different from traditional cash machines in that they do not connect to a bank account but connect users to a Bitcoin wallet or exchange. This way, they can convert physical money into digital currency. Canada ranked as the second country worldwide in terms of Bitcoin ATMs, but overall had a significant smaller amount at its disposal than the United States.

From an economic standpoint, Canada has been slowly recovering from the 2008 financial crisis. Unemployment has gradually decreased, after reaching a decade high in 2009. Additionally, GDP has dramatically increased since 2009 and is expected to continue to increase for the next several years.

This product contains restored 1971 census enumeration area boundaries for Canada's largest cities. It provides the public with a historical spatial data set to be used for reference, mapping, spatial and time series analysis. The restored boundaries include population and dwelling statistics.

In 2025, Moscow was the largest city in Europe with an estimated urban agglomeration of 12.74 million people. The French capital, Paris, was the second largest city in 2025 at 11.35 million, followed by the capitals of the United Kingdom and Spain, with London at 9.84 million and Madrid at 6.81 million people. Istanbul, which would otherwise be the largest city in Europe in 2025, is excluded as it is only partially in Europe, with a sizeable part of its population living in Asia.
