This is about 20 percent of the entire population.

    Istanbul is located at the entrance to the Black Sea, between Europe and Asia. It is attractive to both the people of Turkey as a place to live and work and foreign tourists who take advantage of its cultural and historic center. Due to its attractiveness and its location at the crossroads of the east and the west, the city has been investing in transportation infrastructure to support its strategic location and increasing growth.

    Ankara, the capital of Turkey, is the second largest city and home to about 4.5 million people. Izmir is the third largest, with almost 3 million inhabitants. A vast amount of the country’s population is located in these three metropolises.

    Description

    Context

    This is a dataset consisting of landmark locations of Turkey, from 3 largest cities; Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir.

    This dataset is created for the purpose of a project for machine learning class. We wanted to build a large dataset which will be used for long time, that is why pictures are not just small pictures. The program we used for classifying images can be found on my github.

    Content

    This data is split in test and train data. %80 of images is split for training, and the rest is for testing. The file is structured like;

    -Location1 |img1.jpg |asdfghg.jpg |xxdgs.jpg -Location2 |more.jpg |pictures.jpg |with_random_names.jpg . . .

    The data was collected from flickr, google images, and google places. Google places was a little bit stingy about sharing its data, so we had to find a way around. Most of the scripts which have been used for scrapping the data can be found at my github profile.

    Another think to remember is the noise leftover even after so many cleaning process. Sorry for that.

    Acknowledgements

    I would like to thanks Serhat Saglik, who was my teammate during this project for his efforts.

    This dataset contains -27K categorized Turkish supermarket items. -81 stores (Every city of Turkey has a store) -100K real Turkish names customer, address -10M rows sales data generated randomly. -All data has a near real price with influation factor by the time.

    All the data generated randomly. So the usernames have been generated with real Turkish names and surnames but they are not real people. The sale data generated randomly. But it has some rules. For example, every order can contains 1-9 kind of item. Every orderline amount can be 1-9 pieces. The randomise function works according to population of the city. So the number of orders for Istanbul (the biggest city of Turkey) is about 20% of all data and another city for example orders for the Gaziantep (the population is 2.5% of Turkey population) is about 2.5% off all data. https://www.googleapis.com/download/storage/v1/b/kaggle-user-content/o/inbox%2F1611072%2F9442f2a1dbae7f05ead4fde9e1033ac6%2Finbox_1611072_135236e39b79d6fae8830dec3fca4961_1.png?generation=1693509562300174&alt=media" alt=""> https://www.googleapis.com/download/storage/v1/b/kaggle-user-content/o/inbox%2F1611072%2F1c39195270db87250e59d9f2917ccea1%2Finbox_1611072_b73d9ca432dae956564cfa5bfe42268c_3.png?generation=1693509575061587&alt=media" alt=""> https://www.googleapis.com/download/storage/v1/b/kaggle-user-content/o/inbox%2F1611072%2Fa908389f33ae5c983e383d17f0d9a763%2Finbox_1611072_c5d349aa1f33c0fc4fc74b79b7167d3a_F3za81TXkAA1Il4.png?generation=1693509586158658&alt=media" alt="">

    Description

    The Turkish commercial real estate market, valued at approximately $XX million in 2025, exhibits robust growth potential, projected to expand at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 9.74% from 2025 to 2033. This expansion is fueled by several key drivers. Strong tourism in cities like Antalya, coupled with increasing domestic and foreign investment, particularly in Istanbul and Bursa, significantly boosts demand for office, retail, and hospitality spaces. The burgeoning logistics sector, driven by Turkey's strategic location and growing e-commerce market, further fuels the demand for industrial and logistics facilities. Furthermore, a growing population and urbanization trends contribute to the increasing demand for multi-family residential properties. While challenges exist, such as fluctuating economic conditions and potential regulatory changes, the overall market outlook remains positive, supported by long-term infrastructure development plans and ongoing efforts to improve the business environment. The market is segmented by property type (offices, retail, industrial, logistics, multi-family, hospitality) and key cities (Istanbul, Bursa, Antalya), allowing investors to target specific niches within the broader market. Description

    Turkey is located on the Alpine-Himalayan orogenic belt, which have high geothermal potential. The first geothermal researches and investigations in Turkey started by MTA in 1960s. Upon this, 170 geothermal fields have been discovered by MTA, where 95% of them are low-medium enthalpy fields, which are suitable mostly for direct-use applications. Around 1500 hot and mineralised natural springs and wells exist in Turkey. With the existing geothermal wells discharge water (2693 MWt) and springs (600 MWt), the proven geothermal capacity calculated by MTA is totally 3293 MWt (exhaust temperature is assumed to be 35 C). The geothermal potential is estimated as 31,500 MWt (5,000,000 residences equivalence). Most of the development is achieved in geothermal direct-use applications by 65,000 residences equivalence geothermal heating (750 MWt) including district heating, thermal facilities and 635,000 m2 geothermal greenhouse heating. Main cities heated by geothermal energy as Izmir-Balcova, Narlidere, Afyon and Kirsehir City centers, Afyon-Sandikli, Kutahya- Simav,Ankara-Kizilcahamam, Kali-kesir-Gonen, Nevsehir Kozakli, ManisaSalihli, Agri-Diyadin, Denizli- Saraykoy and Balikesir-Edremit. 195 spas in Turkey are used for balneological purposes (327 MWt). Engineering design of about 300,000 residences equivalence geothermal district heating has been completed. By summing up all this geothermal utilisations in Turkey, the installed capacity is 1077 MWt for direct use and 20.4 MWe for power production in Turkey, where a liquid carbon dioxide and dry ice production factory is integrated to this power plant.
