    Description

Tree Preservation Orders are written orders made by a local planning authority which, in general, make it an offence to cut down, top, lop, uproot, wilfully damage or wilfully destroy a tree protected by that order without the authority’s permission. An order protects trees which bring significant amenity benefit to the local area. This protection is particularly important where trees are under threat.Data is supplied in point form (identifying individual trees) and polygon (identifying areas in which all trees are covered).

    Description

This spatial dataset is an output of the Natural England County & City Natural Capital Atlas project (July 2020). It shows variation in ecosystem service flow for habitats across England, based on indicators identified by NE in the 2018 Natural Capital Indicators project. The dataset comprises a hexagonal grid which summarises indicator values across the country (each unit = 5km²).

Natural Capital is an important aspect of current environmental policy and management. This dataset, in combination with the other project outputs, will support understanding of Natural Capital in England and serve as a valuable engagement tool to communicate concepts of the Natural Capital approach to a wide variety of stakeholders.

    Greater Manchester
    Description

This report presents results of HFAS’s (Transport for Greater Manchester Highways Forecasting and Analytical Services formerly known as GMTU) key centre monitoring during the financial year. It includes trends in modal split of trips entering town centres. It is the Key Centres section of Transport Statistics Greater Manchester. Counts of road traffic and rail users were conducted on a cordon around each of the 10 key centres in Greater Manchester in 1997. Subsequently, until April 2008, three or four centres were surveyed annually with each centre being surveyed on a three yearly cycle to monitor progress towards key objectives in the Greater Manchester Local Transport Plan (GMLTP) and this continued for GMLTP2. Bus patronage was measured using CPS data. This data was not designed to give an accurate picture of bus passenger at a local level but was then the only data available. Stockport MBC allocated funds from a performance monitoring programme that, together with SEMMMS and LTP funding, allowed annual monitoring of Stockport key centre each Autumn since 2004. Similarly, Manchester was surveyed in March 2006 as part of Manchester City Council’s second local performance service agreement (LPSA2). It was decided that from April 2008 each key centre would be surveyed annually and that manual bus surveys would be conducted, rather than using CPS data. Therefore bus trends to 2008 are based on CPS data but trends since then are based on on bus occupancy surveys at cordon points. Tables providing a summary of road traffic and modal share trends are presented here. Further details of the surveys conducted for each centre are shown in the Transport Statistics reports for the relevant districts. The exact locations of the cordons and the extent of the areas they encompass have an influence on both the total volume of traffic and the relative proportions of each mode of travel. Therefore comparisons between centres should be treated with caution. For each key centre, more detailed information and a map showing the location of the cordon are given in the latest individual HFAS Transport Statistics report for the relevant district.

    Description

The Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA) forms part of the evidence base for Manchester's Local Plan and other frameworks and strategies, by showing which areas within the city have the capacity to accommodate new housing. In addition the SHLAA can be used by developers wanting to identify suitable sites for development in Manchester.Contains data in 3 categories: Capacity Sites: Sites which have the potential to be developed for housing, but do not have planning permission as of the most recent March 31st. Planning Permission: Sites which have been granted planning permission but construction had not begin as of the most recent March 31st. Under Construction: As of the most recent March 31st. The 'Total' field refers to the total sum of dwellings in the scheme, and may include housing that has already finished construction.

    Description

This dataset identifies areas where the addition of new ponds would benefit Great Crested Newt populations defined as strategic opportunity areas (SOAs). These England-wide dataset incorporates the SOAs for all regional areas. The attribute “Strategy_Area_Name” defines these areas..The details below describe how the SOAs are scored for each region The core areas contain a pond density of 2+ ponds and are located within a 25m square where great crested newt presence has been predicted. Fringe areas contain a pond density of 1 and are located within a 25m square where great crested newt presence has been predicted or are within a 250m of a Core Area. Typically urban areas greater than 2ha (+400m buffer), roads (7.5m buffer), and rivers (+7.5m) have been excluded unless otherwise stated.. All scores are summed, scores ≤ 0 are not displayed. Higher scores are associated with darker colouration and represent a greater presence of suitable habitat features (density refers to the coverage of a habitat type with 250m of any 25m grid square): Cambridgeshire (Urban buffer reduced to 250m) Density of arable land 0-50% +1 Density of coniferous woodland 10-25% +1 Density of deciduous woodland 10-100% +1 Distance from deciduous woodland 0-100m +1 Density of grassland 25-75% +1 Nearest pond 0-125m +1 pH 6.5-7.5 +1 Distance from rivers 150-1000m +1 Cheshire Soil pH 6.5 – 7.25 +1 Nearest Pond <100m +1 River distance 100 – 1000m +1 Density of grassland 10 – 70% +1 Distance to deciduous woodland <100m +1 Density of deciduous woodland 10 -
