TwitterThe Appalachian Regional Commission uses an index-based county economic classification system to identify and monitor the economic status of Appalachian counties. See the methodology for a description of each economic level. In fiscal year 2020, 4 Ohio ARC counties are classified as distressed, 14 are classified as at-risk, 12 are classified as transitional, 2 are classified as competitive, and 0 are classified as attainment. For a list of county classifications, see the downloadable Excel file.https://www.arc.gov/map/county-economic-status-in-appalachia-fy-2020/This layer was created by joining the raw data from the County Economic Status FY 2020 Data table to the Census 2019 county boundary (tl_2019_39_county)The layer contains economic and demographic data for all 88 counties, a definition query is used to display the 32 Appalachian counties.

TwitterGlobal Map of Irrigation Areas - Version 5 Grid with percentage of area equipped for irrigation with a spatial resolution of 5 arc minutes or 0.083333 decimal degrees. This dataset is developed in the framework of the AQUASTAT Programme of the Land and Water Division of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhems University, Germany. The map shows the amount of area equipped for irrigation around the year 2005 in percentage of the total area on a raster with a resolution of 5 minutes. Additional map layers show the percentage of the area equipped for irrigation that was actually used for irrigation and the percentages of the area equipped for irrigation that was irrigated with groundwater, surface water or non-conventional sources of water. In details, the following products have been released and made available for download: (A) Area equipped for irrigation expressed as percentage of total area: total=aei, surface water=aeisw, groundwater=aeigw, non-conventional sources of water=aeinc (ASCII-grid); (B) Area actually irrigated expressed as percentage of area equipped for irrigation (ASCII-grid); (C) Area equipped for irrigation expressed in hectares per cell (ASCII-grid); (D) Irrigated areas v.5 (ESRI shapefile); (E) High and low resolution images (PDF); (F) Quality Assessment (Excel) Due to the map generation method, the quality of the map can never be uniform. The overall quality of the map depends heavily on the individual quality of the data for the different countries.

TwitterContains Excel data files used to quantifiably rank the geothermal potential of each of the young volcanic centers of the Cascade and Aleutian Arcs using world power production volcanic centers as benchmarks. Also contains shapefiles used in play fairway analysis with power plant, volcano, geochemistry and structural data. Various data compiled for volcanic centers throughout the world. Data include structural and tectonic setting, strain rates, crustal thickness and major rock types. Two tabs contain data: one for geologic characteristics, and one for power plant data that includes the locations of world power generation facilities in volcanic arcs and MW capacities.

The historic bathymetry maps were created using simple methods to determine lake depths and were meant for resource management purposes only.Bathymetry is the measurement of water depth in lakes. From the 1940s to the 1990s, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry produced bathymetry maps for over 11,000 lakes across Ontario. The data can be used by the general public and GIS specialists for:climate change modellingfish monitoring and other ecological applicationshydrologic cycle modellingrecreational fishing mapswatershed-based water budgetingThe maps were created using simple methods to determine lake depths. They were meant for resource management purposes only. Little effort was made to identify shoals and other hazards when creating these bathymetric maps.Since this data was collected, many constructed and naturally occurring events could mean that the depth information is now inaccurate, so these maps should not be used for navigational purposes. In many cases, these maps still represent the only authoritative source of bathymetry data for lakes in Ontario.Technical informationThese maps are being converted to digital GIS line data which can be found in the Bathymetry Line data class. The Bathymetry Index data class identifies if GIS vector lines have been created and the location of mapped lakes. The historic paper maps have been scanned into digital files. We will add new digital files to this dataset if they become available. The digital files have been grouped and packaged by regions into 13 compressed (zipped) files for bulk download.Note: package 99 contains scanned maps where the location shown on the map could not be determined.Product PackagesHistoric Bathymetry Maps - Package 1 (ZIP)Historic Bathymetry Maps - Package 2 (ZIP)Historic Bathymetry Maps - Package 3 (ZIP)Historic Bathymetry Maps - Package 4 (ZIP)Historic Bathymetry Maps - Package 5 (ZIP)Historic Bathymetry Maps - Package 6 (ZIP)Historic Bathymetry Maps - Package 7 (ZIP)Historic Bathymetry Maps - Package 8 (ZIP)Historic Bathymetry Maps - Package 9 (ZIP)Historic Bathymetry Maps - Package 10 (ZIP)Historic Bathymetry Maps - Package 11 (ZIP)Historic Bathymetry Maps - Package 12 (ZIP)Historic Bathymetry Maps - Package 13 (ZIP)Historic Bathymetry Maps - Package 99 (ZIP)Additional DocumentationBathymetry User Guide (Word)Bathymetry Package Map (Word)Bathymetry Lookup Values (Excel)StatusCompleted: Production of the data has been completedMaintenance and Update FrequencyNot planned: There are no plans to update the dataContactOntario Ministry of Natural Resources - Geospatial Ontario,geospatial@ontario.ca
