    The Mayor’s Office utilizes the most recent data to inform decisions about COVID-19 response and policies. The Los Angeles COVID-19 Neighborhood Map visualizes the cases and deaths across 139 neighborhoods in the city. It includes the same data used by the office to spot changes in infection trends in the city, and identify areas where testing resources should be deployed.Data Source:Data are provided on a weekly basis by the LA County Department of Public Health and prepared by the LA Mayor's Office Innovation Team. The data included in this map are on a one-week lag. That means the data shown here are reporting statistics gathered from one week ago. This map will be updated weekly on Mondays. Click on the maps to zoom in, get more details, and see the legends.

    The Digital Geologic-GIS Map of the Acadian Cultural Center Unit, Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve, Louisiana is composed of GIS data layers and GIS tables, and is available in the following GRI-supported GIS data formats: 1.) a 10.1 file geodatabase (accu_geology.gdb), a 2.) Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) geopackage, and 3.) 2.2 KMZ/KML file for use in Google Earth, however, this format version of the map is limited in data layers presented and in access to GRI ancillary table information. The file geodatabase format is supported with a 1.) ArcGIS Pro map file (.mapx) file (accu_geology.mapx) and individual Pro layer (.lyrx) files (for each GIS data layer), as well as with a 2.) 10.1 ArcMap (.mxd) map document (accu_geology.mxd) and individual 10.1 layer (.lyr) files (for each GIS data layer). The OGC geopackage is supported with a QGIS project (.qgz) file. Upon request, the GIS data is also available in ESRI 10.1 shapefile format. Contact Stephanie O'Meara (see contact information below) to acquire the GIS data in these GIS data formats. In addition to the GIS data and supporting GIS files, three additional files comprise a GRI digital geologic-GIS dataset or map: 1.) a readme file (jela_geology_gis_readme.pdf), 2.) the GRI ancillary map information document (.pdf) file (jela_geology.pdf) which contains geologic unit descriptions, as well as other ancillary map information and graphics from the source map(s) used by the GRI in the production of the GRI digital geologic-GIS data for the park, and 3.) a user-friendly FAQ PDF version of the metadata (accu_geology_metadata_faq.pdf). Please read the jela_geology_gis_readme.pdf for information pertaining to the proper extraction of the GIS data and other map files. Google Earth software is available for free at: https://www.google.com/earth/versions/. QGIS software is available for free at: https://www.qgis.org/en/site/. Users are encouraged to only use the Google Earth data for basic visualization, and to use the GIS data for any type of data analysis or investigation. The data were completed as a component of the Geologic Resources Inventory (GRI) program, a National Park Service (NPS) Inventory and Monitoring (I&M) Division funded program that is administered by the NPS Geologic Resources Division (GRD).     Los Angeles County Department of Public Works’ Vertical Control Network is composed of more than 1,700 miles (2,720 kilometers) of level runs and comprise nearly 9,000 benchmarks. The basic accuracy of the net is reflected by an indicated field probable error of ± 0.017 feet per mile (4 mm per kilometer) of leveling as determined from conditions of closure. However, because of varying degrees of subsidence and heaving, the true datum is recovered only by obtaining substantial agreement of a number of benchmarks.For each active benchmark, a point representation was created in GIS by locating them based on their description. Parcel data, mile markers, the County Address Management System (CAMS), LARIAC aerials, oblique photos, 2-foot contour lines and/or Google Street View were used in assisting with the location.The creation of the benchmarks in GIS greatly enhances the Vertical Control Network by adding visual context with respect to their representative geospatial locations. With a glance, geospatial patterns can be observed and out-of-place benchmarks can be quickly identified and remapped to the correct location after verification.To facilitate the adjustment, indexing and distribution of adjusted values in the network, the county territory was divided into 33 quads or areas. For identification purposes, each quad was given a name (for example, “Rosemead”, “La Mirada”, “Santa Fe”, and etc.). Index maps, county maps, and other information can be accessed and downloaded on the basis of each of the quads by going to Survey Division’s Benchmark Retrieval System (https://pw.lacounty.gov/sur/benchmark). General adjustments are carried out every 5 to 10 years and the provided elevation data is expected to remain sound during this period. When a quad is adjusted, new elevations will be published and the date of the readjustment will be noted. No historical data is provided, but it can be acquired from Survey Division’s Public Records Counter or via the fee based Optional Technical Research (OTR) program.     This parcels polygons feature class represents current city parcels within the City of Los Angeles. It shares topology with the Landbase parcel lines feature class. The Mapping and Land Records Division of the Bureau of Engineering, Department of Public Works provides the most current geographic information of the public right of way, ownership and land record information. The legal boundaries are determined on the ground by license surveyors in the State of California, and by recorded documents from the Los Angeles County Recorder's office and the City Clerk's office of the City of Los Angeles. Parcel and ownership information are available on NavigateLA, a website hosted by the Bureau of Engineering, Department of Public Works.Associated information about the landbase parcels is entered into attributes. Principal attributes include:PIN and PIND: represents the unique auto-generated parcel identifier and key to related features and tables. This field is related to the LA_LEGAL, LA_APN and LA_HSE_NBR tables. PIN contains spaces and PIND replaces those spaces with a dash (-).LA_LEGAL - Table attributes containing legal description. Principal attributes include the following:TRACT: The subdivision tract number as recorded by the County of Los AngelesMAP_REF: Identifies the subdivision map book reference as recorded by the County of Los Angeles.LOT: The subdivision lot number as recorded by the County of Los Angeles.ENG_DIST: The four engineering Districts (W=Westla, C=Central, V= Valley and H=Harbor).CNCL_DIST: Council Districts 1-15 of the City of Los Angeles. The parcels polygons layer delineates the right of way from Landbase parcels lots. The parcels polygons layer is a feature class in the LACityLandbaseData.gdb Geodatabase dataset. The layer consists of spatial data as a polygon feature class and attribute data for the features. The area inside a polygon feature is a parcel lot. The area outside of the parcel polygon feature is the right of way. Several polygon features are adjacent, sharing one line between two polygons. For each parcel, there is a unique identifier in the PIND and PIN fields. The only difference is PIND has a dash and PIN does not. The types of edits include new subdivisions and lot cuts. Associated legal information about the landbase parcels lots is entered into attributes. The landbase parcels layer is vital to other City of LA Departments, by supporting property and land record operations and identifying legal information for City of Los Angeles. The landbase parcels polygons are inherited from a database originally created by the City's Survey and Mapping Division. Parcel information should only be added to the Landbase Parcels layer if documentation exists, such as a Deed or a Plan approved by the City Council. When seeking the definitive description of real property, consult the recorded Deed or Plan.List of Fields:ID: A unique numeric identifier of the polygon. The ID value is the last part of the PIN field value.ASSETID: User-defined feature autonumber.MAPSHEET: The alpha-numeric mapsheet number, which refers to a valid B-map or A-map number on the Cadastral grid index map. Values: • B, A, -5A - Any of these alpha-numeric combinations are used, whereas the underlined spaces are the numbers. An A-map is the smallest grid in the index map and is used when there is a large amount of spatial information in the map display. There are more parcel lines and annotation than can fit in the B-map, and thus, an A-map is used. There are 4 A-maps in a B-map. In areas where parcel lines and annotation can fit comfortably in an index map, a B-map is used. The B-maps are at a scale of 100 feet, and A-maps are at a scale of 50 feet.OBJECTID: Internal feature number.BPPMAP_REFTRACTBLOCKMODLOTARBCNCL_DIST: LA City Council District. This field is related to the APN and HSE_NBR tables.ENG_DIST: LA City Engineering District. The boundaries are displayed in the Engineering Districts index map. This layer was created by Los Angeles County eGIS to align with parcel boundaries.ZIP is an acronym for Zone Improvement Plan.Legal vs. Postal Cities: Many users confuse the name the Post Office delivers mail to (e.g. Van Nuys, Hollywood) as a legal city (in this case Los Angeles), when they are a postal city. The County contains 88 legal cities, and over 400 postal names that are tied to the ZIP Codes. To support usability and geocoding, we have attached the first 3 postal cities to each address, based upon its ZIP Code.The US Postal Service is the authoritative source for ZIP Code data.     description: This data represents the GIS Version of the Public Land Survey System including both rectangular and non-rectangular survey data. The rectangular survey data are a reference system for land tenure based upon meridian, township/range, section, section subdivision and government lots. The non-rectangular survey data represent surveys that were largely performed to protect and/or convey title on specific parcels of land such as mineral surveys and tracts. The data are largely complete in reference to the rectangular survey data at the level of first division. However, the data varies in terms of granularity of its spatial representation as well as its content below the first division. Therefore, depending upon the data source and steward, accurate subdivision of the rectangular data may not be available below the first division and the non-rectangular minerals surveys may not be present. At times, the complexity of surveys rendered the collection of data cost prohibitive such as in areas characterized by numerous, overlapping mineral surveys. In these situations, the data were often not abstracted or were only partially abstracted and incorporated into the data set. These PLSS data were compiled from a broad spectrum or sources including federal, county, and private survey records such as field notes and plats as well as map sources such as USGS 7 minute quadrangles. The metadata in each data set describes the production methods for the data content. This data is optimized for data publication and sharing rather than for specific "production" or operation and maintenance. A complete PLSS data set includes the following: PLSS Townships, First Divisions and Second Divisions (the hierarchical break down of the PLSS Rectangular surveys) PLSS Special surveys (non-rectangular components of the PLSS) Meandered Water, Corners, Metadata at a Glance (which identified last revised date and data steward) and Conflicted Areas (known areas of gaps or overlaps or inconsistencies). The Entity-Attribute section of this metadata describes these components in greater detail. The second division of the PLSS is quarter, quarter-quarter, sixteenth or government lot division of the PLSS. The second and third divisions are combined into this feature class as an intentional de-normalization of the PLSS hierarchical data. The polygons in this feature class represent the smallest division to the sixteenth that has been defined for the first division. For example In some cases sections have only been divided to the quarter. Divisions below the sixteenth are in the Special Survey or Parcel Feature Class.     The Digital Geologic-GIS Map of the Chalmette Battlefield Unit and Vicinity, Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve, Louisiana is composed of GIS data layers and GIS tables, and is available in the following GRI-supported GIS data formats: 1.) a 10.1 file geodatabase (clmt_geology.gdb), a 2.) Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) geopackage, and 3.) 2.2 KMZ/KML file for use in Google Earth, however, this format version of the map is limited in data layers presented and in access to GRI ancillary table information. The file geodatabase format is supported with a 1.) ArcGIS Pro map file (.mapx) file (clmt_geology.mapx) and individual Pro layer (.lyrx) files (for each GIS data layer), as well as with a 2.) 10.1 ArcMap (.mxd) map document (clmt_geology.mxd) and individual 10.1 layer (.lyr) files (for each GIS data layer). The OGC geopackage is supported with a QGIS project (.qgz) file. Upon request, the GIS data is also available in ESRI 10.1 shapefile format. Contact Stephanie O'Meara (see contact information below) to acquire the GIS data in these GIS data formats. In addition to the GIS data and supporting GIS files, three additional files comprise a GRI digital geologic-GIS dataset or map: 1.) a readme file (jela_geology_gis_readme.pdf), 2.) the GRI ancillary map information document (.pdf) file (jela_geology.pdf) which contains geologic unit descriptions, as well as other ancillary map information and graphics from the source map(s) used by the GRI in the production of the GRI digital geologic-GIS data for the park, and 3.) a user-friendly FAQ PDF version of the metadata (clmt_geology_metadata_faq.pdf). Please read the jela_geology_gis_readme.pdf for information pertaining to the proper extraction of the GIS data and other map files. Google Earth software is available for free at: https://www.google.com/earth/versions/. QGIS software is available for free at: https://www.qgis.org/en/site/. Users are encouraged to only use the Google Earth data for basic visualization, and to use the GIS data for any type of data analysis or investigation.     PRC 4201 - 4204 and Govt. Code 51175-89 direct the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) to map areas of significant fire hazards based on fuels, terrain, weather, and other relevant factors. These zones, referred to as Fire Hazard Severity Zones (FHSZ), define the application of various mitigation strategies to reduce risk associated with wildland fires. CAL FIRE is remapping Fire Hazard Severity Zones (FHSZ) for State Responsibility Areas (SRA) and Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zones (VHFHSZ) recommendations in Local Responsibility Areas (LRA) to provide updated map zones, based on new data, science, and technology. This specific dataset provides FHSZs within SRA lands only, and represents the proposed zones, subject to changes based on local hearings. A subsequent dataset release will provide the actual adopted zones.

    CAL FIRE recognizes the important contribution of various local government entities that contributed data, maps, and comments that were critical components of the FHSZ mapping process.

The rectangular survey data are a reference system for land tenure based upon meridian, township/range, section, section subdivision and government lots. The non-rectangular survey data represent surveys that were largely performed to protect and/or convey title on specific parcels of land such as mineral surveys and tracts. The data are largely complete in reference to the rectangular survey data at the level of first division. However, the data varies in terms of granularity of its spatial representation as well as its content below the first division. Therefore, depending upon the data source and steward, accurate subdivision of the rectangular data may not be available below the first division and the non-rectangular minerals surveys may not be present. At times, the complexity of surveys rendered the collection of data cost prohibitive such as in areas characterized by numerous, overlapping mineral surveys. In these situations, the data were often not abstracted or were only partially abstracted and incorporated into the data set. These PLSS data were compiled from a broad spectrum or sources including federal, county, and private survey records such as field notes and plats as well as map sources such as USGS 7 minute quadrangles. The metadata in each data set describes the production methods for the data content. This data is optimized for data publication and sharing rather than for specific "production" or operation and maintenance. A complete PLSS data set includes the following: PLSS Townships, First Divisions and Second Divisions (the hierarchical break down of the PLSS Rectangular surveys) PLSS Special surveys (non-rectangular components of the PLSS) Meandered Water, Corners, Metadata at a Glance (which identified last revised date and data steward) and Conflicted Areas (known areas of gaps or overlaps or inconsistencies). The Entity-Attribute section of this metadata describes these components in greater detail.     The 2022 cartographic boundary KMLs are simplified representations of selected geographic areas from the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File / Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) Database (MTDB). These boundary files are specifically designed for small-scale thematic mapping. When possible, generalization is performed with the intent to maintain the hierarchical relationships among geographies and to maintain the alignment of geographies within a file set for a given year. Geographic areas may not align with the same areas from another year. Some geographies are available as nation-based files while others are available only as state-based files. County subdivisions are the primary divisions of counties and their equivalent entities for the reporting of Census Bureau data. They include legally-recognized minor civil divisions (MCDs) and statistical census county divisions (CCDs), and unorganized territories. In MCD states where no MCD exists or no MCD is defined, the Census Bureau creates statistical unorganized territories to complete coverage. The entire area of the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Island Areas are covered by county subdivisions. The generalized boundaries of legal MCDs are based on those as of January 1, 2022, as reported through the Census Bureau's Boundary and Annexation Survey (BAS). The generalized boundaries of all CCDs, delineated in 21 states, are based on those as reported as part of the Census Bureau's Participant Statistical Areas Program (PSAP) for the 2020 Census.

    Satellite and topographic image map (edition 2) of Windmill Islands, Antarctica. A satellite image map (second edition) was produced in 1995, and a topographic map (second edition) was produced in 1997. A double sided map containing both the satellite and topographic maps was produced for the Australian Antarctic Division by AUSLIG (now Geoscience Australia) Commercial, in Australia, in 1997. Both maps are at a scale of 1:50000.

    The satellite map was produced from merged SPOT multispectral and panchromatic data (341-487, 341-488). It is projected on a Transverse Mercator projection, and shows glaciers/ice shelves, station/bases, refuge/depot, sites of special scientific interest (SSSI), specially protected areas (SPA), and gives some historical text information. The map has both geographical and UTM co-ordinates.

    Data sources for the topographic map are: Coastline, rock/ice interface, contours on rock and spot heights are produced from ANARE aerial photography (January 1994); Approximate contours north of Campbell Nunatak are derived from the November 1989 edition of the map; Approximate contours south of Campbell Nunatak are derived from Soviet mapping (1:100000)dating 1963. It is projected on a universal transverse mercator projection, and shows ship anchorages, traverses/routes/foot track charts, geology, glaciers/ice shelves, penguin colonies, birds, other fauna, stations/bases, refuge/depots, runways/helipads, sites of special scientific interest (SSSI), specially protected areas (SPA), and gives some historical text information. The map has both geographical and UTM co-ordinates.

The Los Angeles COVID-19 Neighborhood Map visualizes the cases and deaths across 139 neighborhoods in the city.
