    Description

This dataset represents a compilation of data from various government agencies throughout the City of New York. The underlying geography is derived from the Tax Lot Polygon feature class that is part of the Department of Finance's Digital Tax Map (DTM). The tax lots have been clipped to the shoreline, as defined by NYCMap planimetric features. The attribute information is from the Department of City Planning's PLUTO data. The attribute data pertains to tax lot and building characteristics and geographic, political and administrative information for each tax lot in New York City. The Tax Lot Polygon feature class and PLUTO are derived from different sources. As a result, some PLUTO records do not have a corresponding tax lot in the Tax Lot polygon feature class at the time of release. These records are included in a separate non-geographic PLUTO Only table. There are a number of reasons why there can be a tax lot in PLUTO that does not match the DTM; the most common reason is that the various source files are maintained by different departments and divisions with varying update cycles and criteria for adding and removing records. The attribute definitions for the PLUTO Only table are the same as those for MapPLUTO. DCP Mapping Lots includes some features that are not on the tax maps. They have been added by DCP for cartographic purposes. They include street center 'malls', traffic islands and some built streets through parks. These features have very few associated attributes. To report problems, please open a GitHub issue or email DCPOpendata@planning.nyc.gov.DATES OF INPUT DATASETS:Department of City Planning - E-Designations: 2/5/2021Department of City Planning - Zoning Map Index: 7/31/2019Department of City Planning - NYC City Owned and Leased Properties: 11/15/2020Department of City Planning - NYC GIS Zoning Features: 2/5/2021Department of City Planning - Polictical and Administrative Districts: 11/17/2020Department of City Planning - Geosupport version 20D: 11/17/2020Department of Finance - Digital Tax Map: 1/30/2021Department of Finance - Mass Appraisal System (CAMA): 2/10/2021Department of Finance - Property Tax System (PTS): 2/6/2021Landmarks Preservation Commission - Historic Districts: 2/4/2021Landmarks Preservation Commission - Individual Landmarks: 2/4/2021Department of Information Telecommunications & Technology - Building Footprints: 2/10/2021Department of Parks and Recreation - GreenThumb Garden Info: 1/4/2021

    Description

The Capital Planning Platform is a new resource for collaborative planning, powered by open data and open source technology. The New York City Department of City Planning pioneered open data with Bytes of the Big Apple a decade ago. With the creation of the DCP"s Capital Planning Division in 2014, we envisioned a new civic technology resource: the Capital Planning Platform - a place for planners to access the maps, data, and analytics that they need to plan for public investments in neighborhoods and collaborate with one another. The NYC Facilities Explorer (beta) is a first step in building this vision. Over the months and years to come, we plan to add more map layers, new and improved datasets, and new analysis tools to this mapping platform to help automate a broad array of planning analyses and make the capital planning process more efficient, coordinated, and strategic across the public and private sectors in New York City. The Capital Planning Platform complements other data and maps that DCP produces. We also encourage users to explore the following resources, among others, on DCP"s website.NYC Census FactFinder - An interactive tool for creating demographic, social, economic, and housing profiles for neighborhoods and user-defined groupings of Census tracts.PLUTO and MapPLUTO - Extensive land use and geographic data at the tax lot level in multiple formats.Zoning and Land use Application (ZoLA) – ZoLA provides a simple way to research zoning regulations in New York City.Waterfront Access Map - This interactive map identifies and provides information about New York City’s inventory of publicly-accessible waterfront spaces.Community Portal - The DCP Community Portal offers resources on a variety of topics related to land use, community planning, and demographic trends for each of New York City’s 59 Community Boards

    Description

Publication Date: April 2025. This polygon layer is updated annually.

This layer contains 2024 parcel data only for NY State counties which gave NYS ITs Geospatatial Services permission to share this data with the public. Work to obtain parcel data from additional counties, as well as permission to share the data, is ongoing. To date, 36 counties have provided the Geospatial Services permission to share their parcel data with the public. Parcel data for counties which do not allow the Geospatial Services to redistribute their data must be obtained directly from those counties. Geospatial Services' goal is to eventually include parcel data for all counties in New York State.

Parcel geometry was incorporated as received from County Real Property Departments. No attempt was made to edge-match parcels along adjacent counties. County attribute values were populated using 2024 Assessment Roll tabular data Geospatial Services obtained from the NYS Department of Tax and Finance’s Office of Real Property Tax Services (ORPTS). Tabular assessment data was joined to the county provided parcel geometry using the SWIS & SBL or SWIS & PRINT KEY unique identifier for each parcel.

Detailed information about assessment attributes can be found in the ORPTS Assessor’s Manuals available here: https://www.tax.ny.gov/research/property/assess/manuals/assersmanual.htm. New York City data comes from NYC MapPluto which can be found here: https://www1.nyc.gov/site/planning/data-maps/open-data/dwn-pluto-mappluto.page.

This layer displays when zoomed in below 1:37,051-scale.

This map service is available to the public.

Geometry accuracy varies by contributing county.

Thanks to the following counties that specifically authorized Geospatial Services to share their GIS tax parcel data with the public: Albany, Cayuga, Chautauqua, Cortland, Erie, Genesee, Greene, Hamilton, Lewis, Livingston, Montgomery, New York City (Bronx, Kings, New York, Queens, Richmond), Oneida, Onondaga, Ontario, Orange, Oswego, Otsego, Putnam, Rensselaer, Rockland, Schuyler, Steuben, St Lawrence, Suffolk, Sullivan, Tioga, Tompkins, Ulster, Warren, Wayne, and Westchester.

    Description

This data set contains the New Horizons Pluto Encounter geology and geophysics science theme team derived mosaics, topographic and bond albedo maps for Pluto and Charon. Detailed, high-quality global mosaics of Pluto and Pluto's largest moon Charon, were assembled from nearly all of the highest-resolution images obtained by the Long-Range Reconnaissance Imager (LORRI) and the Multispectral Visible Imaging Camera (MVIC) on New Horizons. The mosaics are the most detailed and comprehensive global view yet of the surfaces of Pluto and Charon using New Horizons data. Standing out on Charon is an enormous trough at least 350 kilometers long, and reaching 14 kilometers deep - more than seven times as deep as the Grand Canyon. The mosaics are available in Equirectangular projection at an equatorial pixel scale of 300 meters per pixel.

    Description

This data set contains Raw data taken by the New Horizons Long Range Reconnaissance Imager instrument during the Pluto encounter mission phase. This is VERSION 3.0 of this data set. This data set contains LORRI observations taken during the the Approach (Jan-Jul, 2015), Encounter, Departure, and Transition mission sub-phases, including flyby observations taken on 14 July, 2015, and departure and calibration data through late October, 2016. Departure observations include a ring search of the Pluto system and 1994 JR1 observations. This data set completes the Pluto mission phase deliveries for LORRI. This is version 3.0 of this dataset. Changes since version 2.0 include the addition of data downlinked between the end of January, 2016 and the end of October, 2016, completing the delivery of all data covering the Pluto Encounter and subsequent Calibration Campaign. It includes multi- map observations from the Approach phase, observations of the moons, hi- res, full-frame observations from Pluto Encounter and Departure, sliver maps, and ring search observations. There may be some overlap between prior datasets and this dataset, due to only partial, windowed, or lossy data in prior datasets. Observations at closest approach to Pluto are marked with _CA in the Request ID. This dataset also includes functional tests from the Calibration Campaign, including a regular observation of NGC3532. Finally it includes the first set of distant KBO observations. Also, updates were made to the calibration files, documentation, and catalog files. There were minor changes to the level 2 LORRI calibration process, as well as to the LORRI calibration constants for the final Pluto P3 PDS delivery. The process change involves gap removal during calibration. Files with gaps come in many flavors, depending on where the gap lies within the image. This update recognizes some additional possiblities, mainly that the gap might be close to the bottom or top of the image (and therefore the previous algorithm would fail because it filled the gap with median pixel info from both above and below the gap). The new algorithm will take the info from one side of the gap exclusively, when appropriate.

New York City data comes from NYC MapPluto which can be found here: https://www1.nyc.gov/site/planning/data-maps/open-data/dwn-pluto-mappluto.page. The State-owned tax parcel polygons in this file are the result of a best effort selection based on the Primary Owner and Additional Owner fields in the NYS Statewide Tax Parcels file, Geospatial Services data, State agency data, and online research. These same data and information are also the basis for a best effort assignment of a NYS agency name (listed in the NYS Name field) to most tax parcel polygons where the Owner Type field value is State. The NYS Name Source field consists of a code that describes how the State-owned designation and agency name were determined, if this was verified, and the means of verification, if applicable. This map service is available to the public. The State of New York, acting through the New York State Office of Information Technology Services, makes no representations or warranties, express or implied, with respect to the use of or reliance on the Data provided. Description

This data set contains Raw data taken by the New Horizons Long Range Reconnaissance Imager instrument during the Pluto encounter mission phase. This is VERSION 2.0 of this data set. This data set contains LORRI observations taken during the the Approach (Jan-Jul, 2015) and Encounter mission sub-phases, including flyby observations taken on 14 July, 2015; the data are limited to those downlinked from the spacecraft as of the end of January, 2016. The rest of the downlinked data for this mission phase will be delivered in a future data set. Refer to the data set description above and the sequence table provided in the documentation for more detail about which observations are present in this data set. This is version 2.0 of this data set. Changes since version 1.0 include data downlinked between the end of July, 2015 and the end of January, 2016. These include Pluto Charon, Nix and Hydra observations from Approach, the day of the flyby, and Departure, lossless downlinks of images downlinked with lossy compression in version 1.0, Nix orbit determination observations, Multi-maps and VIS-UV maps taken in coordination with ALICE, High-phase and departure imaging, satellite photometry, non-critical navigation imaging, Kerberos and Styx imaging, KBO 1994 JR1 observations and departure ring-search observations taken in November, 2015, Charon dark side lit by Pluto-shine, and several other observations. The lossy images from Version 1.0 were recalibrated, including expanding the 'bad' pixel designation of 8x8 boxes affected by the first 34 pixels of header information in the calibrated quality map. Also, updates were made to the documentation and catalog files, primarily to resolve liens from the V1.0 peer review.

    Description

Table S1 is a comma-delimited text file (.csv) that contains a list of all craters between 7-to-25 km, their feature identification number (FID), their longitude and latitude in decimal degrees, and the unit abbreviation for the geologic unit they were assigned to.These data are associated with a Singer et al. manuscript submitted to the Journal of Geophysical Research - Planets. The title is "Pluto Geologic Map: Use of Crater Data to Understand Age Relationships". Publication information, including a DOI, will be updated upon completion of the peer review process.Abstract: Pluto’s surface displays a wide variety of geologic units from smooth plains to extremely rugged mountainous expanses. These terrains range in age from young, actively resurfaced regions (no observable craters even in the highest-resolution New Horizons images) to old, heavily cratered, eroded regions. Here we expand upon the crater data analysis and the independent crater data set used in the production of a 1:7M scale geologic map of Pluto that is to be published by the United States Geologic Survey (USGS). We present both relative ages based on crater spatial density (number of craters in a given size bin per km2) and also quantitative ages (e.g., 2 Ga) using the estimated impactor flux onto Pluto. The techniques presented here were developed specifically for the information available from a USGS geologic map, where smaller craters are mapped as points only (no specific diameter information per crater). We developed a new type of visualization, called a distributed R-plot, to understand the relative ages of the geologic units. The uncertainties in the current knowledge of the Kuiper belt populations and impactor flux at Pluto propagate to large uncertainties in the estimated quantitative ages (~a factor of two). However, both relative and quantitative ages from crater analysis were still valuable tools in developing the sequence of geologic events. Pluto has large areas of crater-free young terrains (13 units making up ~27% of mapped higher-resolution surface area), with widely varying morphologies, indicating a variety of resurfacing mechanisms, both exogenic and endogenic, likely active into Pluto’s recent past or present.

    Description

This data set contains Calibrated data taken by the New Horizons Long Range Reconnaissance Imager instrument during the Pluto encounter mission phase.

    Description

This forest patch layer was created using a 2017 high-resolution urban tree canopy map of New York City derived from LiDAR and NAIP imagery (https://data.cityofnewyork.us/Environment/Tree-Canopy-Change-2010-2017-/by9k-vhck). To identify forest area, tree canopy over impervious surfaces was first subtracted from the canopy layer, including buildings and roads identified from planimetric data available from New York City (https://opendata.cityofnewyork.us/). Morphological spatial pattern analysis (MSPA; Vogt et al. 2007) was then used to distinguish forest patches from remaining tree canopy using an edge parameter of 15 m based on observed changes in vegetation composition and structure (Baker, unpublished data). MSPA applies the edge parameter to distinguish interiors (i.e. ‘cores’) from surrounding edges, as well as five other morphometric primitives (i.e. branches, bridges, loops, and islets) that reflect how canopy is or is not connected to cores. Patches always include core areas and their surrounding edges, as well as any perforations. Patches are separated into two size classes: Forested Natural Areas are patches with greater core area and thickness than Groves.Patches are classified by land ownership categories using local parcel data available from New York City (https://data.cityofnewyork.us/City-Government/Primary-Land-Use-Tax-Lot-Output-PLUTO-/64uk-42ks/data). Ownership categories include: Federal, State, Municipal, Commercial/Industrial, Institutional, and Private Residential owners. Parcels with unknown ownership were assigned Municipal ownership.Vogt P, Riitters K H, Estreguil C, Kozak J, Wade T G and Wickham J D 2007 Mapping spatial patterns with morphological image processing Landsc. This data set completes the Pluto mission phase deliveries for MVIC. This is version 3.0 of this dataset. Changes since version 2.0 include the addition of data downlinked between the end of January, 2016 and the end of October, 2016, completing the delivery of all data covering the Pluto Encounter and subsequent Calibration Campaign. It includes multi- map observations from the Approach phase, observations of the moons, hi- res, full-frame observations from Pluto Encounter and Departure, and ring search observations. There may be some overlap between prior datasets and this dataset, due to only partial, windowed, or lossy data in prior datasets. This dataset also includes functional tests from the Calibration Campaign, including calibration observations of the M6 and M7 clusters, and HD205905. Also, updates were made to the calibration files, documentation, and catalog files. For any data previously delivered as sub-frame windows, this delivery will fill in the image data outside those windows. Changes to the calibration involved only changes to the spectrum-specific calibration constants provided in FITS headers and in PDS labels; the calibrated Data Number values in the calibrated data set, excluding image data outside the sub-frame windows mentioned above, will not be substantively changed.
