    Description

The National Mine Map Repository (NMMR) maintains point locations for mines appearing on maps within its archive. This dataset is intended to help connect the Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement, other federal, state, and local government agencies, private industry, and the general public with archived mine maps in the NMMR's collection. The coordinates for mine point locations represent the best information the NMMR has for the location of the mine. As much as possible, the NMMR strives to find precise locations for all historic mines appearing on mine maps. When this is not possible, another feature as close to the mine as is known is used. This information is reflected in the mine point symbols. However, the NMMR cannot guarantee the accuracy of mine point locations or any other information on or derived from mine maps. The NMMR is part of the United States Department of the Interior, Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement (OSMRE). The mission of the NMMR is to preserve abandoned mine maps, to correlate those maps to the surface topography, and to provide the public with quality map products and services. It serves as a point of reference for maps and other information on surface and underground coal, metal, and non-metal mines from throughout the United States. It also serves as a location to retrieve mine maps in an emergency. Some of the information that can be found in the repository includes: Mine and company names, Mine plans including mains, rooms, and pillars, Man-ways, shafts, and mine surface openings. Geological information such as coal bed names, bed thicknesses, bed depths and elevations, bed outcrops, drill-hole data, cross-sections, stratigraphic columns, and mineral assays. Geographical information including historic railroad lines, roads, coal towns, surface facilities and structures, ponds, streams, and property survey lines, gas well and drill-hole locations. Please note: Map images are not available for download from this dataset. They can be requested by contacting NMMR staff and providing them with the desired Document Numbers. NMMR staff also have additional search capabilities and can fulfill more complex requests if necessary. See the NMMR website homepage for contact information: https://www.osmre.gov/programs/national-mine-map-repository. There is no charge for noncommercial use of the maps. Commercial uses will incur a $46/hour research fee for fulfilling requests.

    Description

The mapsearch-bku03232018 extension enhances CKAN by adding a web map interface to facilitate geographical queries. This allows users to search for datasets based on location, providing a visual and intuitive way to discover geographically relevant data within a CKAN instance. Aimed at CKAN v2.3, the extension integrates directly with the CKAN platform, offering geospatial search capabilities via a map-based interface. Key Features: Web Map Interface: Provides an interactive web map for specifying geographical search areas, making geospatial data discovery more user-friendly. Geographical Queries: Allows users to perform searches for datasets based on their geographical location, enabling targeted data retrieval. Configurable Test Environment: Includes configurable test files (test.ini and tests_config.cfg) to ensure proper functioning within specific CKAN environments. The settings include configurations for the CKAN host, Web Map Service URL, map search path, and CKAN API path. Technical Integration: The extension integrates into CKAN by providing a web map interface and processing geographical search queries. The tests_config.cfg file indicates that URL paths for the web map service and the CKAN API can be customized, suggesting the extension uses CKAN's API to perform search queries and relies on an external Web Map Service for rendering the map. Configuration files are required to set the CKAN host, WMS URL, MapSearch path and CKAN API path so the extension can use the CKAN API. Benefits & Impact: The mapsearch-bku03232018 extension improves the usability of CKAN for users interested in geographically referenced data by facilitating location-based searching. This enhancement should make the discovery of relevant datasets more efficient.

    Description

The Mapsearch extension enhances CKAN's spatial search capabilities by introducing scale-awareness. This extension, designed to work alongside ckanext-spatial, allows users to view the number of results at different zoom levels on a map, making it easier to find relevant geospatial datasets. The core functionality relies on pre-indexing data with an additional area field, enabling scale-dependent search result aggregation. Key Features: Scale-Aware Search: Displays the number of datasets at five different scales for a given area of interest, providing a more granular search experience. Map-Centered Interface: Integrates directly with the CKAN spatial extension to offer a map-based search interface. Solr Integration: Leverages Solr's spatial capabilities, requiring Solr 3.1 or higher, and uses an extra field in the Solr index for storing area information. Configurable Map Extent: Allows administrators to set the initial map extent for the search interface. Test Suite: Includes basic Selenium WebDriver tests to facilitate quality assurance and extension verification. Technical Integration: The Mapsearch extension integrates with CKAN by adding a plugin that depends on ckanext-spatial. Installation order in the CKAN .ini configuration file is critical, requiring mapsearch to be listed after spatial_query in the plugins setting. It also needs an extra field in the Solr schema.xml configured for proper indexing. Benefits & Impact: By offering scale-aware search, the Mapsearch extension improves geospatial data discovery within CKAN. Users can quickly assess data availability at different zoom levels, allowing them to refine their searches and identify relevant datasets more easily. This extension contributes to more efficient and effective utilization of spatial data resources within a CKAN-powered data portal.

    Description

Sentinel-1 performs systematic acquisition of bursts in both IW and EW modes. The bursts overlap almost perfectly between different passes and are always located at the same place. With the deployment of the SAR processor S1-IPF 3.4, a new element has been added to the products annotations: the Burst ID, which should help the end user to identify a burst area of interest and facilitate searches. The Burst ID map is a complementary auxiliary product. The maps have a validity that covers the entire time span of the mission and they are global, i.e., they include as well information where no SAR data is acquired. Each granule contains information about burst and sub-swath IDs, relative orbit and burst polygon, and should allow for an easier link between a certain burst ID in a product and its corresponding geographic location.

    Description

Nationwide spatial data set with search rooms for potential application areas for soil improvement with humic soil material. This dataset was created especially for the owners and managers of land, project promoters, municipalities and planning offices. The aim is to support the search for arable land whose soils can be improved by a professional application of humose soil material at a width of around 20 cm in their performance. By means of a corresponding soil application, a compensation for natural protection or construction law interventions in the protective material soil can also be achieved. The main technical and legal exclusion criteria have already been taken into account in the preparation of the data. Therefore, it can be assumed that a meaningful soil application is possible within the designated search rooms with a high probability. However, for the exact location selection, a closer examination is always necessary, especially of small-scale soil and nature conservation conditions.

The boundaries are intended for cartographic use and spatial analysis only, and not for use as legal descriptions or property surveys.
