While USPS does not make an up-to-date geographic layer of zip codes available, TEBS-GIS uses various available sources to provide as accurate boundaries as possible for zip codes used for mailing address. Updated continually as needed. Because zip code areas overlap county boundaries, this layer - which cuts off at the county boundary - should not be used to join with statistics by zip code; zip codes that overlap with neighboring counties would not reflect the data accurately mapped to this layer. This dataset represents the Zip code boundaries within Jackson County. This data is based on ECSO911 'Community' layer.

BY USING THIS WEBSITE OR THE CONTENT THEREIN, YOU AGREE TO THE TERMS OF USE. The boundaries were digitized based on legal descriptions from the US Postal Service. The date of the legal descriptions is unknown. Zip code areas for which a legal description could not be obtained were digitized using the zip code contained in the site address from the August, 2009 Oakland County tax parcel feature class. The key attribute is Zip.

The TIGER/Line shapefiles and related database files (.dbf) are an extract of selected geographic and cartographic information from the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File / Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) Database (MTDB). The MTDB represents a seamless national file with no overlaps or gaps between parts, however, each TIGER/Line shapefile is designed to stand alone as an independent data set, or they can be combined to cover the entire nation. ZIP Code Tabulation Areas (ZCTAs) are approximate area representations of U.S. Postal Service (USPS) ZIP Code service areas that the Census Bureau creates to present statistical data for each decennial census. The Census Bureau delineates ZCTA boundaries for the United States, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands once each decade following the decennial census. Data users should not use ZCTAs to identify the official USPS ZIP Code for mail delivery. The USPS makes periodic changes to ZIP Codes to support more efficient mail delivery. The Census Bureau uses tabulation blocks as the basis for defining each ZCTA. Tabulation blocks are assigned to a ZCTA based on the most frequently occurring ZIP Code for the addresses contained within that block. The most frequently occurring ZIP Code also becomes the five-digit numeric code of the ZCTA. These codes may contain leading zeros. Blocks that do not contain addresses but are surrounded by a single ZCTA (enclaves) are assigned to the surrounding ZCTA. Because the Census Bureau only uses the most frequently occurring ZIP Code to assign blocks, a ZCTA may not exist for every USPS ZIP Code. Some ZIP Codes may not have a matching ZCTA because too few addresses were associated with the specific ZIP Code or the ZIP Code was not the most frequently occurring ZIP Code within any of the blocks where it exists. The ZCTA boundaries in this release are those delineated following the 2020 Census.

This feature class contains polygons defining the USPS ZIP Codes in Hillsborough County, Florida. The dataset includes a five-digit code and name of each ZIP code. The purpose of this dataset is to represent location and describe the boundaries of all ZIP codes within Hillsborough County.USPS ZIP code layer were originally built using the street centerline, Situs or property lines.Hillsborough County obtains the information about approximate ZIP codes boundaries in the form of legal descriptions or general maps outlining the areas from USPS and feature polygons are drawn using ArcMap to update the existing boundaries. Any ZIP code that did not have geographic areas but have only post office box was represented by a small square. The boundaries are updated as needed basis when errors are found or when unpopulated areas have growth. The polygon boundaries are approximate since the ZIP codes are assigned to linear features (Roads), not to geographic areas.

This dataset consists of data from the United States Postal Service (USPS). It entails all of the five digit zip codes in the 20-county metro Atlanta region which are assigned by USPS. The data is part of the administrative area layer, a group layer containing the various geographic divisions in Atlanta. It follows ESRI's Local Government Information Model. The features in this layer represent the five-digit ZIP Code areas that are used by the U.S. Postal Service to deliver mail more effectively. This layer provides ZIP Code, postal district name, population, and area for the ZIP Code areas in California.

The H-GAC ZIP code coverage includes polygons and their attributes for Harris, Fort Bend, Brazoria, Galveston, Chambers, Liberty, Montgomery, Waller, Austin, Colorado, Matagorda Wharton and Walker County. It was primarily created from the census 2002 ZIP code boundary data with secondary source data coming from Centerpoint ZIP code, Esri 2009 ZIP code, address point data from centerpoint and counties, CRIS ( Carrier Route Information System) data, US Postal Services Online site ( Look up a ZIP code) and parcels. Must Not Overlap and Must Not have Gaps topology rules have been used in order to create an accurate ZIP code layer. The layer represents physical ZIP codes and a few PO BOX ZIP codes are included rural areas . PO BOX ZIP codes can be identifying by "zip_type" field in the attribute table.
