    Description

Created as part of a 2012 BOEM study on OCS renewable energy space-use conflicts, this data contains the commercial and recreational fishing locations off the Pacific coast of Washington, Oregon and California. The purpose of the study was to begin to identify potential space-use conflicts between OCS renewable energy development and other uses of the ocean environment and recommend measures that BOEM can implement in order to promote avoidance or mitigation of such conflicts, thereby facilitating responsible and efficient development of OCS renewable energy resources. The ethnographic data was created by engaging individuals and small groups in one on one guided discussions, and making handwritten shapes on paper maps to depict fishing locations. These commercial and recreational fishing locations have since been condensed into a single layer.

The datasets included in this service cover the four mineral system components incorporated in the conceptual model for the formation of tholeiitic intrusion-hosted Ni-Cu-PGE sulfide deposits : (1) energy sources or drivers of the ore-forming system; (2) crustal and mantle lithospheric architecture; (3) sources of ore constituents (i.e., Ni, PGE, Cu, S in magmatic systems); and (4) gradients in ore depositional physico-chemical parameters. The results of the analysis are published in the report "Potential for intrusion-hosted Ni-Cu-PGE sulfide deposits in Australia: A continental-scale analysis of mineral system prospectivity. http://dx.doi.org/10.11636/Record.2016.001".

    Description

This is a single data set from a larger study. The full study is titled "Socio-Economic Impact of Outer Continental Shelf Wind Energy Development on Fishing in the U.S. Atlantic". Each quarter square km (500 m) cell has been summed for the mean correlated economic value over the six year period analyzed (2007-2012). This information was created for each state, gear type, Fishery Management Plan (FMP), top 30 exposed ports and top 30 exposed species. This was calculated using Vessel Trip Reports (VTR), Cumulative Distribution Function (CDF) which estimates radial distance within which fishing activity is likely to occur, and a 500 m raster cell output. The raster data shown here is a summation of all the state revenues by all gear types and all species. The mean annual revenue value for all years is represented for the entire area. The data is classified in the legend first by using a Natural Breaks algorithm for 8 classes, and then by reclassifying those results to the closest 50, 100, or 1000 interval. The value is in US dollars for 2012 representing the sum of the mean values for all six years, and then classified into one of the 8 classes. You may still hover over the raster value in ArcGIS if map tips are turned on, to get the value of each cell.

    Description

This hosted feature layer has been published in RI State Plane Feet NAD83.This is a statewide, seamless digital dataset of the land cover/land use for the State of Rhode Island derived using semi-automated methods and based on imagery captured in 2003-2004. The project area encompasses the State of Rhode Island and also extends 1/2 mile into the neighboring states of Connecticut and Massachusetts or to the limits of source orthophotography. Geographic feature accuracy meets the National Mapping Standards for 1:5000 scale mapping with respect to base level data (roads, hydrography, and orthos). The minimum mapping unit for this dataset is .5 acre. The land use classification scheme used for these data was based on the Anderson Level III modified coding schema used in previous land use datasets in Rhode Island (1988 & 1995) with some modifications for the 2003 classification. The dataset is also intended to be incorporated into the Rhode Island Geographic Information System database for use by federal, state and local government and made available to the general public under established RIGIS licensing procedures. This hosted feature service layer replaces the map service https://maps.edc.uri.edu/arcgis/rest/services/Atlas_PLAN/Land_Use_and_Land_Cover_0304/MapServer/0

    Access API

    Historical Imagery 1974

Current and historic imagery form an important part of the NSW Foundation Spatial Data Framework and provide a valuable resource which is widely accessed by government and the broader community on a daily basis. As the completeness of this data base continues, its market demand also increases across a broad range of applications.

Spatial Services aerial imagery was originally captured using a variety of cameras including the Wild RC-5, RC-10 and Leica RC-30 cameras with a variety of lenses with focal lengths of 88mm, 153mm and 304mm. Images were captured in monochrome or colour during this period at a range of scales. Capture scales ranged from 1:5 000 to 1:80 000.

The Historical Air Photo Enhancement program (HAPE) not only allows the capability to search, discover and use source imagery, but also provides the delivery and viewing of enhanced historic rectified imagery mosaics. This new development means the community at large can now access and utilise spatially accurate historic imagery:

    1. Through the 'https://portal.spatial.nsw.gov.au/portal/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=f7c215b873864d44bccddda8075238cb' rel='nofollow ugc'>Historical Imagery Viewer

    Description

230,000 sq km of seismic data interpretation mapping over 32,000 seafloor seismic amplitude anomalies in the Gulf of Mexico using 3-D time-migrated seismic surveys. This mapping program means to understand the distribution of natural hydrocarbon seeps and the related benthic fauna, and to characterize other seafloor features related to the geological framework of the seafloor. These areas show anomalously high or low amplitude response over the background response. Four classes of water bottom anomalies interpreted to be caused by hydrocarbon seepage include High-Positive, Low-Positive/Negative, Pockmarks and Water-Column Gas Plumes. Six classes of water bottom anomalies that are non-seep related include Cretaceous, Cretaceous Talus, Fan, Salt, Slump, and Channels.

Please visit http://www.boem.gov/Seismic-Water-Bottom-Anomalies-Map-Gallery/ for more information on these anomaly types.

    Description

These data delineate Rockfish Conservation Areas (RCA) off the West Coast of the United States for 2015. There are three types of areas closures depicted in this layer: Commercial Trawl Non-Groundfish, Commercial Trawl Groundfish, and Commercial Non-Trawl Groundfish. These areas represent closures to commercial fishing for non-groundfish with trawl gear, closed to commercial fishing for groundfish with trawl gear, or areas are closed to commercial fishing for groundfish with non-trawl gear, respectively. Closures may vary seasonally. Boundaries are lines that connect a series of coordinates that approximate particular depth contours. North/south boundaries are designated by specific lines of latitude. Keep in mind that Rockfish Management Areas are fairly dynamic and may change as often as 5 times per year.

    Description

These data delineate state and federally managed ocean areas off the West Coast of the United States that are closed to or have restrictions on commercial fishing for fish and invertebrates as of June 2015. These areas include marine protected areas, marine reserves, essential fish habitat conservation areas, and other types of conservation areas. Closures and restrictions may be year-round or seasonal. The data do not include all spatially explicit fishing regulations. The focus of these data is on fishing closures and restrictions that generally persist through time, and do not include many fishing management measures that are used to open and close areas dynamically to manage species, harvests, and seasons. Some areas where access is prohibited or restricted are included because these act as “de-facto" closures or restrictions to fishing.
