This layer was developed by the Research & Analytics Division of the Atlanta Regional Commission as a 10-county dataset, which was recently expanded to its current extent. In many cases, the boundaries have been significantly changed by ARC's GIS Division using a variety of sources to improve their accuracy, including ESRI, GDT, the U.S. Postal Service (USPS), Aero Surveys, Inc., the U.S. Census Bureau, local government datasets and digital orthophotography. Please note, there are some inherent problems with ZIP codes which affect the use of this Layer. Since there are overlapping areas with some of the USPS ZIP code data, this Layer can only show the estimated general area for many ZIP codes. Also note that some ZIP codes refer to post office boxes which only represent point locations, thus are not part of this polygon Layer. Attributes:ZIP = ZIP code in string formatZIP_dbl = ZIP code in double formatShape.STArea() = Area in square feetSource: Atlanta Regional Commission (and various other sources)Date: 2006For additional information, please visit the Atlanta Regional Commission at www.atlantaregional.com
This feature class contains polygons of the zip code boundaries within Manatee County.
Dataset Card for Zip Code to Timezone Offset Mapping
This dataset maps Zip Codes and Postal Codes for the USA and Canada to the relevant timezone offset.
Dataset Details
Dataset Description

This data set contains all zip codes within Delaware County, Ohio. In 2003, Delaware County zip codes were carefully evaluated and cleaned-up based on cross referencing between the Census Bureau's zip code file from the 2000 census, the United States Postal Service website, and tax mailing addresses from the treasurer's office. The zip code layer was then created in 2005 by dissolving all Delaware County parcels by their property addresses. Tax exempt parcels and dedicated roads with no zip codes were manually populated based on their location within the zip code layer. This layer was also used to populate the zip_right and zip_left attributes for Delaware County's road centerline.
The New River Geothermal Exploration (DOE Award No. EE0002843) is located approximately 25km south of the Salton Sea, near town of Brawley in Imperial County and approximately 150km east of San Diego, California.
A total of 182 MT Logger sites were completed covering the two separate Mesquite and New River grids. The data was collected over a frequency range of 320Hz to 0.001Hz with variable site spacing. A number of different inversion algorithms in 1D, 2D and 3D were used to produce resistivity-depth profiles and maps of subsurface resistivity variations over the survey area. For 2D inversions, a total of eighteen lines were constructed in east-west and north-south orientations crossing the entire survey area. For MT 3D inversion, the New River property was divided in two sub-grids, Mesquite and New River areas.
The report comprises of two parts. For the first part, inversions and geophysical interpretation results are presented with some recommendations of the potential targets for future follow up on the property. The second part of the report describes logistics of the survey, survey parameters, methodology and the survey results (data) in digital documents.
The report reviews a Spartan MT survey carried out by Quantec Geoscience Limited over the New River Project in California, USA on behalf of Ram Power Inc. Data was acquired over a period of 29 days from 2010/06/26 to 2010/07/24. Site Locations Files in pdf, png, tab and wor formats

Comparison of old and new vegetation maps is an effective way to detect vegetation dynamics. Recent developments in computer technology have made it possible to accurately compare old paper vegetation maps with current digitized vegetation maps to reveal long-term vegetation dynamics. Recently, a 1:50,000 scale vegetation map of the Hakkoda Mountains in northern Japan, located in the ecotone of cool temperate and subalpine forests in northern Japan under an East Asian monsoon climate, from 1930 was discovered. We compared the 1930s vegetation map with the most recent 2010 vegetation map to test the following hypotheses: 1) the occurrence of upward expansion of the upper limit of cool-temperate deciduous forests, and 2) whether designation as a national park in 1936 would have reduced forestry and land use, expanded beech forests, and cool-temperate deciduous forests. To compare vegetation changes, 67 types of vegetation legends for the 1930 and 2010 maps were unified to 21 based on plant species composition. Consequently, vegetation has changed substantially over the past 80 years. 1) In the subalpine zone above 1,000 m, the coniferous forest area decreased by half. In the cool temperate zone below 1,000 m, the area of beech forests increased 1.48 times, and some of them could be shifted upwards, replacing subalpine fir forests in the lower part of the subalpine zone. 2) In areas below 700 m, deciduous oak forests once used as thickets were almost halved. Instead, climax and beech forests expanded. However, we also found that even after the area was declared a national park, oak forests were cleared and converted to commercial forests such as cedar plantations, cattle ranches, and horse pastures in some areas. These results will be useful for future ecosystem and biodiversity research/conservation and will provide baseline information for climate change adaptation policies.
U.S. ZIP Code Areas (Five-Digit) represents five-digit ZIP Code areas used by the U.S. Postal Service to deliver mail more effectively. The first digit of a five-digit ZIP Code divides the United States into 10 large groups of states numbered from 0 in the Northeast to 9 in the far West. Within these areas, each state is divided into an average of 10 smaller geographical areas, identified by the second and third digits. These digits, in conjunction with the first digit, represent a sectional center facility or a mail processing facility area. The fourth and fifth digits identify a post office, station, branch or local delivery area. Please contact GIS.Librarian@floridadep.gov for more information.
