    Description

NOTE: THIS DATASET IS NO LONGER BEING UPDATED DAILY. Summary The cumulative number of positive COVID-19 cases among Maryland residents within a single Maryland ZIP code. Description The MD COVID-19 - Cases by ZIP data layer is a collection of positive COVID-19 test results that have been reported each day by the local health department via the NEDSS system. Upon reaching a limit to the Socrata Platform, we decided to break the data into two parts. We now have "MD COVID-19 - Cases by ZIP Code" (for 2023), "MD COVID-19 - Cases by ZIP Code Archive (2021)", and "MD COVID-19 - Cases by ZIP Code Archive (2020)". Terms of Use The Spatial Data, and the information therein, (collectively the "Data") is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, either expressed, implied, or statutory. The user assumes the entire risk as to quality and performance of the Data. No guarantee of accuracy is granted, nor is any responsibility for reliance thereon assumed. The Data can be freely distributed as long as the metadata entry is not modified or deleted. Any data derived from the Data must acknowledge the State of Maryland in the metadata. Case data aggregates to ZIP Codes do not reflect cases with missing, out of state, or incorrect ZIP Codes. Therefore, statewide totals of aggregate ZIP Code data may not match other statewide aggregate totals.

Summary This layer has been DEPRECATED (last updated 12/1/2021). Was formerly a weekly update. The Outbreak-Associated Cases in Congregate Living data dashboard on coronavirus.maryland.gov was redesigned on 11/17/21 to align with other outbreak reporting. Visit https://opendata.maryland.gov/dataset/MD-COVID-19-Congregate-Outbreak/ey5n-qn5s to view Outbreak-Associated Cases in Congregate Living data as reported after 11/17/21. Confirmed COVID-19 deaths among Maryland residents who live and work in congregate living facilities in Maryland for the reporting period. Description The MD COVID-19 - Total Deaths in Congregate Facility Settings data layer is a total of deaths confirmed by a positive COVID-19 test result that have been reported to MDH in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, group homes of 10 or more and state and local facilities for the reporting period. Data are reported to MDH by local health departments, the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services and the Department of Juvenile Services. To appear on the list, facilities report at least one confirmed case of COVID-19 over the prior 14 days. Facilities are removed from the list when health officials determine 14 days have passed with no new cases and no tests pending. The list provides a point-in-time picture of COVID-19 case activity among these facilities. Numbers reported for each facility listed reflect totals ever reported for deaths. Data are updated once weekly. Description

After over two years of public reporting, the State Profile Report will no longer be produced and distributed after February 2023. The final release was on February 23, 2023. We want to thank everyone who contributed to the design, production, and review of this report and we hope that it provided insight into the data trends throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Data about COVID-19 will continue to be updated at CDC’s COVID Data Tracker.

The State Profile Report (SPR) is generated by the Data Strategy and Execution Workgroup in the Joint Coordination Cell, in collaboration with the White House. It is managed by an interagency team with representatives from multiple agencies and offices (including the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the HHS Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response, and the Indian Health Service). The SPR provides easily interpretable information on key indicators for each state, down to the county level.

It is a weekly snapshot in time that:

    • Focuses on recent outcomes in the last seven days and changes relative to the month prior
    • Provides additional contextual information at the county level for each state, and includes national level information
    • Supports rapid visual interpretation of results with color thresholds

Note: Starting April 27, 2023 updates change from daily to weekly. Summary The cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 deaths among Maryland residents. Description The MD COVID-19 - Total Confirmed Deaths Statewide data layer is a collection of the statewide confirmed COVID-19 related deaths that have been reported each day by the Vital Statistics Administration. A death is classified as confirmed if the person had a laboratory-confirmed positive COVID-19 test result. Some data on deaths may be unavailable due to the time lag between the death, typically reported by a hospital or other facility, and the submission of the complete death certificate. Probable deaths are available from the MD COVID-19 - Total Probable Deaths Statewide data layer. Update 5/27/21: The Maryland Department of Health (MDH) Vital Statistics Administration (VSA) revised the state’s COVID-19 data to include deaths that were not properly classified by medical certifiers over the past year. VSA identified these deaths as COVID-19 deaths through an information reconciliation process utilizing other sources of data. Notice:Starting October 10th, 2025 this dataset is deprecated and is no longer being updated. Please refer to the Open Data resource at https://data.maryland.gov/Health-and-Human-Services/COVID-Master-Tracker/37gh-4yqf for continued weekly updates. SummaryThe cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 deaths among Maryland residents.DescriptionThe MD COVID-19 - Total Confirmed Deaths Statewide data layer is a collection of the statewide confirmed COVID-19 related deaths that have been reported each day by the Vital Statistics Administration.
