Demographic Movement, to December 31 of each year, from 1931 complete with birth rates, mortality and data relating to the General Censuses. Speaking of censuses, it is good to trace a brief history of them. The first General Population Census in Italy dates back to 1861, the year of the unification of the country in the Kingdom of Italy and the Italians censused were 26 million and three hundred thousand. Since 1861, census sessions have been held every 10 years with the exceptions of 1891, due to the financial difficulties of the country and 1941 due to the 2nd world conflict. Another exception is represented by the 1936 Census, carried out just 5 years after the previous one following a legislative reform of 1930 that had modified its periodicity, immediately after reported every ten years until 2011. Since 2018, the Censuses have become permanent and sample-based, meaning that each year a sample of families is interviewed that is different from that of the previous year. The census population in our country exceeds 60 million.

The dataset is the photograph updated to 31.12.2021 of the residents of our City divided by age classes (aged years), old age index (it is a demographic ratio of composition, defined as the percentage ratio between the population aged 65 years and over and the population aged 0-14 years), dependency index (it is obtained by comparing the resident population in non-active age from 0 to 14 years and from 65 years and over on the population of working age from 15 to 64 years, this ratio, which is generally multiplied by percent, measures the demographic burden on the population of working age. Values above 50% indicate a situation of generational imbalance). And finally, the index of Structure of the active population (is the percentage ratio between the population aged 40-64 years and the population aged 15-39 years). All data are divided by sub-municipal areas (neighborhoods). For more details see the following: MAP

The dataset summarizes the data recorded with the movement and monthly calculation in the year 2024 of the resident population related to our municipality, in a dynamic way. It clearly shows a decline in births that has now been a constant since 2014, in fact the birth rate fell from 8.16 per thousand residents in 2013 to 6.06 recorded at 31.12.2023. On the other hand, the mortality rate increased from 7.96/1000 to 10.63/1000 on 31 December 2023 during the same period. The data are a very up-to-date picture of the situation of our municipality, which is not very different from the national one.
