    Description
    About this dataset

    Context

The dataset tabulates the La Mesa population over the last 20 plus years. It lists the population for each year, along with the year on year change in population, as well as the change in percentage terms for each year. The dataset can be utilized to understand the population change of La Mesa across the last two decades. For example, using this dataset, we can identify if the population is declining or increasing. If there is a change, when the population peaked, or if it is still growing and has not reached its peak. We can also compare the trend with the overall trend of United States population over the same period of time.

    Key observations

In 2023, the population of La Mesa was 60,537, a 0.11% decrease year-by-year from 2022. Previously, in 2022, La Mesa population was 60,605, a decline of 0.38% compared to a population of 60,836 in 2021. Over the last 20 plus years, between 2000 and 2023, population of La Mesa increased by 5,677. In this period, the peak population was 61,097 in the year 2020. The numbers suggest that the population has already reached its peak and is showing a trend of decline. Source: U.S. Census Bureau Population Estimates Program (PEP).

    Description
    About this dataset

    Context

The dataset tabulates the data for the Mesa, WA population pyramid, which represents the Mesa population distribution across age and gender, using estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 2019-2023 5-Year Estimates. It lists the male and female population for each age group, along with the total population for those age groups. Higher numbers at the bottom of the table suggest population growth, whereas higher numbers at the top indicate declining birth rates. Furthermore, the dataset can be utilized to understand the youth dependency ratio, old-age dependency ratio, total dependency ratio, and potential support ratio.

    Key observations

    • Youth dependency ratio, which is the number of children aged 0-14 per 100 persons aged 15-64, for Mesa, WA, is 86.3.
    • Old-age dependency ratio, which is the number of persons aged 65 or over per 100 persons aged 15-64, for Mesa, WA, is 9.6.
    • Total dependency ratio for Mesa, WA is 96.0.
    • Potential support ratio, which is the number of youth (working age population) per elderly, for Mesa, WA is 10.4.

    Description

The Mesa mule deer population is part of the larger Sublette herd that winters in the north-central portion of the Green River Basin, east of the Green River and west of U.S. Highway 191 (fig. 32). The Mesa wintering area supports 3,000 to 5,000 deer that migrate northwest to summer ranges in the Wyoming Range, Gros Ventre Range, and Salt River Range. The Mesa winter range, which has been fragmented by a large natural gas field, has experienced 30–40 percent declines in deer abundance since this development began. Mitigating winter range impacts continues to be a challenge for managers. These migratory deer have benefited from six underpasses and two overpasses constructed along U.S. Highway 191 in 2012; the project has reduced wildlife-vehicle collisions by 85 percent. These data provide the _location of migration routes for mule deer (Odocoileus hemionus) in the Mesa population in Wyoming. They were developed from Brownian bridge movement models using 133 migration sequences collected from a sample size of 33 animals comprising GPS locations collected every 2-8 hours.

Male Population, Female Population, Male Population as Percent of Total Population, Female Population as Percent of Total Population
    Measurement technique
The data presented in this dataset is derived from the latest U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 2019-2023 5-Year Estimates. To measure the two variables, namely (a) population and (b) population as a percentage of the total population, we initially analyzed and categorized the data for each of the gender classifications (biological sex) reported by the US Census Bureau. For further information regarding these estimates, please feel free to reach out to us via email at research@neilsberg.com.

    Description
    About this dataset

    Context

The dataset tabulates the population of Mesa by gender, including both male and female populations. This dataset can be utilized to understand the population distribution of Mesa across both sexes and to determine which sex constitutes the majority.

    Key observations

There is a slight majority of female population, with 50.14% of total population being female. Source: U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 2019-2023 5-Year Estimates.

    Content

When available, the data consists of estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 2019-2023 5-Year Estimates.

    Scope of gender :

Please note that American Community Survey asks a question about the respondents current sex, but not about gender, sexual orientation, or sex at birth. The question is intended to capture data for biological sex, not gender. Respondents are supposed to respond with the answer as either of Male or Female. Our research and this dataset mirrors the data reported as Male and Female for gender distribution analysis. No further analysis is done on the data reported from the Census Bureau.

    Variables / Data Columns

    • Gender: This column displays the Gender (Male / Female)
    • Population: The population of the gender in the Mesa is shown in this column.
    • % of Total Population: This column displays the percentage distribution of each gender as a proportion of Mesa total population. Please note that the sum of all percentages may not equal one due to rounding of values.

    Good to know

    Margin of Error

Data in the dataset are based on the estimates and are subject to sampling variability and thus a margin of error. Neilsberg Research recommends using caution when presening these estimates in your research.

    Custom data
