TwitterA geospatial interface will be developed using ArcIMS software. The interface will provide a means of accessing information stored in the SOFIA database and the SOFIA data exchange web site through a geospatial query. The spatial data will be served using the ArcSDE software, which provides a mechanism for storing spatial data in a relational database. A spatial database will be developed from existing data sets, including national USGS data sets, the Florida Geographic Digital Library, and other available data sets. Additional data sets will be developed from the published data sets available from PBS and other projects.
The South Florida restoration effort requires multidisciplinary information relating to present and historical conditions for use in responsible decision-making. The South Florida Information Access (SOFIA) database is the cornerstone of information management for the South Florida place-based science program. Currently, the SOFIA web site and database have a minimal geospatial interface which relies on the Geo-Data Explorer (GeoDE) system developed by the USGS Energy Resources Program in Reston. A geospatial interface using currently available commercial software (ArcIMS) is needed to develop a more easily maintained and user-friendly interface. Developing an interface that is directly connected to the SOFIA website and database will provide a more stable long term solution to providing a geospatial interface.

This GIS data was exported from these file submissions in August 2025. The GIS parcel polygon features have been joined with thereal property roll (Name – Address – Legal, or NAL)file. No line work was adjusted between county boundaries.The polygon data set represents the information property appraisers gathered from the legal description on deeds, lot layout of recorded plats, declaration of condominium documents, recorded and unrecorded surveys.Individual parcel data is updated continually by each county property appraiser as needed. The GIS linework and related attributions for the statewide parcel map are updated annually by the Department every August. A polygone feature class of Short Form Class IV Permit Appliations within Miami-Dade County. The following types of projects may be processed as Short Form Class IV Permit applications:Clearing, farming, filling, dredging, plowing or any other work within wetlands requiring a Class IV Permit and not lying within the Bird Drive Everglades Wetland Basin or the North Trail Wetland Basin where the usage is consistent with existing zoning regulations and where the cumulative area upon which work will be performed does not exceed:(a) One acre of wetlands in areas designated as "Environmental Protection" on the current Miami-Dade County Comprehensive Development Master Plan Map, or(b) Forty acres of wetlands in areas designated as "Open Land" or "Agriculture" on the current Miami-Dade County Comprehensive Development Master Plan Map.Rock mining in the Transitional Northeast Everglades, the East Turnpike Wetland Basin and the C-9 Wetland Basin, when said rock mining has been previously approved as an unusual use by Miami-Dade County. However, a short form application for said rock mining shall be permitted only when the design and development criteria for the proposed rock mining project do not conflict with the prior unusual use approval by Miami-Dade County.The clearing, farming, placement of clean fill, dredging, plowing or any other agricultural site alteration within the North Trail Wetland Basin or the Bird Road Drive Everglades Wetland Basin.Clearing, placement of clean fill or dredging in wetlands associated with a modification of the Central and South Florida Flood Control Project, intended to restore historical patterns of hydrologic flow to Everglades National Park, Florida Bay or Biscayne Bay and performed by the State of Florida or the United States Government. These data can be printed in a variety of ways to display various geologic features or used for digital analysis and modeling. This database is not meant to be used or displayed at any scale larger than 1:100,000 (e.g. 1:62,500 or 1:24,000).
The digital geologic map of the Coeur d'Alene 1:100,000 quadrangle was compiled from preliminary digital datasets [Athol, Coeur d'Alene, Kellogg, Kingston, Lakeview, Lane, and Spirit Lake 15-minute quadrangles] prepared by the Idaho Geological Survey from A. B. Griggs (unpublished field maps), supplemented by Griggs (1973) and by digital data from Bookstrom and others (1999) and Derkey and others (1996). The digital geologic map database can be queried in many ways to produce a variety of derivative geologic maps.
This GIS consists of two major Arc/Info data sets: one line and polygon file (cda100k) containing geologic contacts and structures (lines) and geologic map rock units (polygons), and one point file (cda100kp) containing structural data.

TwitterA vegetation/land cover raster digital data set for the entire National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska (NPR-A) was generated from Landsat multispectral data sets. Included are eleven categories of vegetation and land cover which are derived from all or portions of 10 Landsat MSS scenes. The data set covers all or part of thirteen 1:250,000-scale topographic quadrangles. Data are stored in 50 meter pixels and registered to a UTM base. A full NPR-A mosaic as well as the 1:250,000 topographic series. Data are available in two forms: a digital mosaic of (1) the entire NPR-A coverage, split into two pieces each and registered to a separate UTM zone, or (2) for each 1:250,000-scale topo quadrangle area within the NPR-A. This file is too large to remain online. It is stored on magnetic tape at Moffett Field, CA.

Data are available on: 9-track, 800 bpi, 1600 bpi, 6250 bpi, unlabeled, unblocked, or BCD tape. Subsets on the main file and custom formats as well as limited documentation is available.
