    THIS PLAN IS NOT A ZONING MAP. Within each map category on this plan map, numerous land uses, zoning districts and housing types may occur. This plan map may be interpreted only as provided in the adopted plan text entitled: Interpretation of The Land Use Plan Map: Adopted Policy Of The Land Use Element. That adopted text provides necessary definitions and standards for allowable land uses, densities, or intensities of use for each map category, and for interpretation and application of the plan as a whole. The adopted text must be consulted in its entirety in interpreting any one plan map category, and no provision shall be used in isolation from the remainder. Restrictions accepted by the Board of County Commissioners in association with Land Use Plan map amendments shall be considered as an adopted part of the Comprehensive Development Master Plan (CDMP) and are delineated in the adopted text.This Land Use Plan (LUP) map, in conjunction with all other adopted components of the CDMP, will govern all development-related actions taken or authorized by Miami-Dade County. The LUP map generally reflects municipal land use policies adopted in comprehensive plans. However, with limited exceptions enumerated in the Statement of Legislative Intent, this plan does not supersede local land use authority of incorporated municipal governments authorized in accordance with the Miami-Dade County Charter.     The Miami-Dade County storm surge planning zones are drawn using Sea, Lake and Overland Surge from Hurricanes (SLOSH) model grids that incorporate local physical features such as geographic coastal area, bay and river shapes, water depths, bridges, etc. Areas in Miami-Dade along canals, rivers and further inland have been identified as being at risk for storm surge based on this data. The Miami-Dade County storm surge planning zones are drawn using Sea, Lake and Overland Surge from Hurricanes (SLOSH) model grids that incorporate local physical features such as geographic coastal area, bay and river shapes, water depths, bridges, etc.Areas in Miami-Dade along canals, rivers and further inland have been identified as being at risk for storm surge based on this data. Each zone or portions will be evacuated depending on the hurricane’s track and projected storm surge, independent of the hurricane’s category. Upon identification of a threat the EOC or County Mayor will use local media to relay pertinent information, such as evacuations and shelter openings. It is important that you monitor the news for this information

    A line feature class of Miami-Dade County's Urban Development Boundary(UDB) boundaries. The boundary was adopted by the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) as per recommendation. This boundary identifies the area where urban development may occur through the year 2030. Development orders permitting urban development will generally be approved within the UDB at some time through the year 2030 provided that level-of-service standards for necessary public facilities will be met. Adequate countywide capacity will be maintained within the UDB by increasing development densities or intensities inside the UDB or by expanding the UDB when the need for such change is determined to be necessary through the amendment process.Revisions: Date: November 2021 By: Juan C. 'Coastal A� Zone according to FEMA, is the area landward of a V Zone or landward of an open coast without mapped V Zones. In a coastal A Zone, the principal source of flooding will be astronomical tides, storm surges, seiches or tsunamis and not riverine flooding.
