    Description

    This is an up to date map of solar farms in West Texas and Southeast New Mexico as of January 1st, 2022. This map is an update from the previous solar farm locations shapefile utilized in the West Texas and Southeast New Mexico Fire Weather Dashboard map. This new shapefile accounts for any new solar farm locations from the previous 2 years, along with input from emergency managers on current locations for solar farms.

    This is the compilation of the most significant events of 2020 that occurred across the county warning area (CWA) for NWS Midland. The CWA encompasses 26 counties across West Texas and Southeast New Mexico. These major events include snow and ice storms, severe weather, high wind events, and record-breaking temperatures. While this story map does not include every weather event from 2020, it does comprise of the biggest events as determined by the employees at NWS Midland.
