This weighted severity index was calculated based on the number of vehicles involved, the number of serious injuries, and the number of fatalities a given area has had over the five-year period. Staff then calculated the most dangerous intersection within each city as well as the top 10 most dangerous intersections for bicyclists and pedestrians using the Weighted Severity Index.
