    Description

In the academic year of 2022, it is expected that 551,460 female and 331,530 male students will earn a Master’s degree in the United States. These figures are a significant increase from the academic year of 1950, when 16,980 female students and 41,220 male students earned a Master’s degree.

    What is a Master’s degree?

A Master’s degree is an academic degree granted by universities after finishing a Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degrees focus in on a specific field and are more specialized than a Bachelor’s. A typical Master’s program is about two years long, with the final semester focusing on the thesis. Master’s degree programs are usually harder to get into than Bachelor’s degree programs, due to the rigor of the program. Because these programs are so competitive, those with a Master’s degree are typically paid more than those with a Bachelor’s degree.

Master’s degrees in the United States

The number of master’s degrees granted in the United States has steadily increased since the 1970s and is expected to continue to increase. In 2021, the Master’s degree program with the worst job prospects in the United States by mid-career median pay was counseling, while the program with the best job prospects was a physician's assistant.

    About this dataset

    Context

The dataset tabulates the population of Tchula by gender, including both male and female populations. This dataset can be utilized to understand the population distribution of Tchula across both sexes and to determine which sex constitutes the majority.

    Key observations

There is a majority of female population, with 61.42% of total population being female. Source: U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 2019-2023 5-Year Estimates.

    Content

When available, the data consists of estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 2019-2023 5-Year Estimates.

    Scope of gender :

Please note that American Community Survey asks a question about the respondents current sex, but not about gender, sexual orientation, or sex at birth. The question is intended to capture data for biological sex, not gender. Respondents are supposed to respond with the answer as either of Male or Female. Our research and this dataset mirrors the data reported as Male and Female for gender distribution analysis. No further analysis is done on the data reported from the Census Bureau.

    Variables / Data Columns

    • Gender: This column displays the Gender (Male / Female)
    • Population: The population of the gender in the Tchula is shown in this column.
    • % of Total Population: This column displays the percentage distribution of each gender as a proportion of Tchula total population. Please note that the sum of all percentages may not equal one due to rounding of values.

    Description

In this study, the loading characteristics of a crown wall on a rubble mound breakwater are investigated using a 2D physical model. The study examines both overall stability (through sliding) and the temporal and spatial distributions of pressure along the face and base of the crown wall. A range of wave conditions is tested, with particular emphasis on the influence of foundation level on the loading characteristics. Additionally, a second breakwater core is used to assess the impact of permeability on the wave loading characteristics. The findings highlight the significance of both parameters and analyze the discrepancies between predicted and measured maximum horizontal and vertical forces after wave impact. Furthermore, a novel two-step method is proposed to improve existing design methods, enabling more accurate estimation of wave loads.

    Measurement technique
The data presented in this dataset is derived from the latest U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 2019-2023 5-Year Estimates. To measure the two variables, namely (a) population and (b) population as a percentage of the total population, we initially analyzed and categorized the data for each of the gender classifications (biological sex) reported by the US Census Bureau. For further information regarding these estimates, please feel free to reach out to us via email at research@neilsberg.com.

    Description
    About this dataset

    Context

The dataset tabulates the population of Macon by gender, including both male and female populations. This dataset can be utilized to understand the population distribution of Macon across both sexes and to determine which sex constitutes the majority.

    Key observations

There is a slight majority of female population, with 51.27% of total population being female.

    • Population: The population of the gender in the Macon is shown in this column.
    • % of Total Population: This column displays the percentage distribution of each gender as a proportion of Macon total population. Please note that the sum of all percentages may not equal one due to rounding of values.

    Good to know

    Margin of Error

Data in the dataset are based on the estimates and are subject to sampling variability and thus a margin of error. Neilsberg Research recommends using caution when presening these estimates in your research.

    Description

The master dataset contains comprehensive information for all government schools in NSW. Data items include school locations, latitude and longitude coordinates, school type, student enrolment numbers, electorate information, contact details and more.

This dataset is publicly available through the Data NSW website, and is used to support the School Finder tool.

    Data Notes:

    • Data relating to healthy canteen is no longer up to date as it is no longer updated by the Department, this data can be sourced through NSW health.

    • Student enrolment numbers are based on the census of government school students undertaken on the first Friday of August; and LBOTE numbers are based on data collected in March.

    • School information, such as addresses and contact details, are updated regularly as required, and are the most current source of information.

    • Data is suppressed for indigenous and LBOTE percentages where student numbers are equal to, or less than five indicated by "np".

    • NSSC out of scope schools will not have an enrolment figure.

    • NSSC and LBOTE figures are updated annually in December.

    • ICSEA values are updated every February with the previous year's ICSEA values. Small schools, SSPs and Senior Secondary schools do not have their ICSEA values published by ACARA.

    • Family Occupation and Educational Index (FOEI) is a school-level index of educational disadvantage. Data is extracted in May and values are updated annually in December.

    • Following the introduction of part-time study in secondary schools in 1993, student enrolments are generally reported in full-time equivalent units (FTE). The FTE for students studying less than 10 units, the minimum workload, is determined by the formula: 0.1 x the number of units studied and represented as a proportion of the full-time enrolment of 1.0 FTE.
