    Description

This vector line file represents road, railroad, and municipal boundary centerlines within Monroe County, New York. These centerlines combine for a total of 4,625 centerline miles. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the County has a total area of 1,366 square miles, of which 659 square miles is land and 706 square miles (51.72%) is water. This layer has been continously updated by the Monroe County Department of Environmental Services since it received the file in 2001 from the Genesee/Finger Lakes Regional Planning Council. It is currently maintained with information provided by the 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Department (ECD), tax parcel data obtained from Monroe County Real Property Services, as well as current aerial photography, street abandonment and dedication reports, and input from municipalities. This layer is the single authoritative source of centerline information in Monroe County.

© Development of the centerline file began in 1999 when the Genesee Transportation Council contracted with the Genesee/Finger Lakes Regional Planning Council (G/FLRPC) to create a road file with accurately positioned street centerlines and corresponding address ranges. With involvement from Monroe County, G/FLRPC rectified Enhanced TIGER/Line Files to Monroe County's digital real property tax parcels. Monroe County Department of Environmental Services (DES) obtained the rectified centerline file in 2001 and has enhanced and maintained it ever since (2001, Monroe County Department of Environmental Services, Rochester, NY). This layer is sourced from mappingmonroe.monroecounty.gov.

    Description

Download .zipThis coverage represents an interpretation of land use and land cover types done from aerial photography by James H. Given, Jr. and Larry Summers, Remote Sensing Unit, Division of Soil and Water Conservation. For an explanation of categories see Ohio Land Use/ Cover Classifications System, Misc. Report 17 available upon request, or at http://apps.ohiodnr.gov/geodata/documents/Ohio_LULC_Misc_Report17.pdf . This publication is keyed to the four digit code found in the OCAPCODE item name code description.

This coverage was digitized from Land Use/ Land Cover drafted onto USGS quadrangle maps utilizing a run length encoding technique sampling along horizontal lines which represent the midline of cells with a height of 250 feet . The measurement increment along these horizontal lines was one decafoot (10 feet) the quadrangle files were then merged into a county file which was subsequently converted to ARC / INFO format.

The user should bear in mind that this coverage is only an approximation of the Land Use / Land Cover as drafted. Blue line copies of the original Land Use / Land Cover interpretation can be provided for a nominal charge.

Additional details on the digitizing process are available on request.

Original coverage data was converted from the .e00 file to a more standard ESRI shapefile(s) in November 2014.Contact Information:GIS Support, ODNR GIS ServicesOhio Department of Natural ResourcesReal Estate & Land ManagementReal Estate and Lands Management2045 Morse Rd, Bldg I-2Columbus, OH, 43229Telephone: 614-265-6462Email: gis.support@dnr.ohio.gov

    Description

Overview of the Data:This is a subset of tax parcel records for only parcels sold within the last three calendar years. Sales are recorded through deed transfers by the Monroe County Clerk and this data is shared with the City. The operational purpose of the tax parcel data set is to facilitate the calculation and collection of property taxes. Each publicly or privately owned property in the city of Rochester has an official tax parcel record. The assessed value of every tax parcel in the city is recalculated based on recent sales and professional appraisals every four years. Reassessment years provide the best snapshot period for historical comparison, and included on the open data portal are 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020. This feature layer shows the polygon boundaries for each of the over 65,000 tax parcels in the city, along with several fields from their parcel records that detail information about the property, including ownership, property type, and assessed values. How does the tax map system work in New York State? What does Section, Block, Lot refer to?Each county in the state has a tax map that includes all of the parcels in each of its cities, towns, and villages. The county tax map is subdivided into sections of even, modular units that are 8,000 feet by 12,000 feet. Each of these sections are then subdivided into blocks of up to 100 parcels. Blocks are typically formed by following natural boundaries (i.e., roads, rivers, railroad tracks). Lot numbers are assigned to each parcel in a block following a set pattern according to their location on the map. Each parcel is thus assigned a Section, Block, Lot (SBL) number for identification and tax administration purposes. For more information on this identification system, please see the General Guide for Tax Mapping in New York State, put out by the Property Tax Assessment Administration.Related Resources:For a searchable interactive mapping application, please visit the City of Rochester's Property Information explorer tool. For further information about the city's property tax assessments, please contact the City of Rochester Assessment Bureau. To access the City's zoning code, please click here.

The Florida Department of Revenue’s Property Tax Oversight(PTO) program collects parcel level Geographic Information System (GIS) data files every April from all of Florida’s 67 county property appraisers’ offices. This GIS data was exported from these file submissions in August 2024. The GIS parcel polygon features have been joined with thereal property roll (Name – Address – Legal, or NAL)file. No line work was adjusted between county boundaries. The polygon data set represents the information property appraisers gathered from the legal description on deeds, lot layout of recorded plats, declaration of condominium documents, recorded and unrecorded surveys.Individual parcel data is updated continually by each county property appraiser as needed. The GIS linework and related attributions for the statewide parcel map are updated annually by the Department every August.
