The first stage of the deal was completed in late 2021, with SK Hynix taking over Intel's solid-state drive business and NAND manufacturing facility in Dalian, China. The second stage of the deal is expected to be closed in 2025. SK Hynix saw an expanded NAND flash manufacturers market share in 2022, briefly surpassing Kioxia to become the second largest firm in the second quarter of that year before slipping back into third position the following quarter.
