    The coffee shop industry in the United States is a lucrative one, however, some cities are more well-known than others for their coffee shops. With almost 75 thousand Google searches, Denver, Colorado was the most searched for city for coffee shops in the United States in the 12 months prior to September 2021. Second in the ranking came Nashville, Tennessee, with almost ** thousand Google searches for coffee shops connected with the city. What is the biggest coffee shop chain in the U.S.? Starbucks is not only the biggest coffee shop chain in the U.S. but also the largest coffee shop chain worldwide. In 2021, the global brand value of Starbucks came second in size only to the quick service restaurant giant, McDonald’s. Starbucks’ global revenue saw a decline in 2020 as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, this figure did grow in 2021 but still not above pre-pandemic levels. Meanwhile, the company saw an increase in the number of Starbucks stores in the U.S. in both 2020 and 2021. Who drinks coffee in the U.S.? Coffee drinking in the U.S. proved to be popular among all age groups in 2020. Almost half of 18-to-24-year old’s said they drank the beverage when surveyed and almost ** percent of seniors said the same. Meanwhile, older generations in the U.S. drank more cups of coffee a day on average than their younger counterparts, with those over ** drinking approximately **** cups a day.
