    Abstract

    Nepal Commercial Coffee Survey 2019 conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), it is the first survey of Nepal. The main objective of the NCCS 2019 is to estimate the Production, sell and use of Coffee as well as contribution on GDP. The other specific objectives are to provide the statistical information of Nature, position, distribution and consumption of Coffee. Respondents of the survey are commercial coffee holders. The survey employs a purposive sample selection procedure from Random Sampling Methods. Holders are selected from 32 districts of all 4 provinces . The survey used only traditional paper questionnaires for data collection. The findings from the survey will be helptul to Nepal Govt. & Stakeholders for further policy making & improvement of quality of its future products and services.

    Description

    Monthly Aggregated NEX-GDDP Ensemble Climate Projections: Historical (1985–2005) and RCP 4.5 and RCP 8.5 (2006–2080) This dataset is a monthly-scale aggregation of the NEX-GDDP: NASA Earth Exchange Global Daily Downscaled Climate Projections processed using Google Earth Engine (Gorelick 2017). The native delivery on Google Earth Engine is at the daily timescale for each individual CMIP5 GCM model. This dataset was created to facilitate use of NEX-GDDP and reduce processing times for projects that seek an ensemble model with a coarser temporal resolution. The aggregated data have been made available in Google Earth Engine via 'users/cartoscience/GCM_NASA-NEX-GDDP/NEX-GDDP-PRODUCT-ID_Ensemble-Monthly_YEAR' (see code below on how to access), and all 171 GeoTIFFS have been uploaded to this dataverse entry.     Description

    Waardenburg syndrome (WS) is an autosomal dominant inherited disorder that is characterized by sensorineural hearing loss and abnormal pigmentation. SOX10 is one of its main pathogenicity genes. The generation of patient-specific induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) is an efficient means to investigate the mechanisms of inherited human disease. In our work, we set up an iPSC line derived from a WS patient with SOX10 mutation and differentiated into neural crest cells (NCCs), a key cell type involved in inner ear development. Compared with control-derived iPSCs, the SOX10 mutant iPSCs showed significantly decreased efficiency of development and differentiation potential at the stage of NCCs. After that, we carried out high-throughput RNA-seq and evaluated the transcriptional misregulation at every stage. Transcriptome analysis of differentiated NCCs showed widespread gene expression alterations, and the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were enriched in gene ontology terms of neuron migration, skeletal system development, and multicellular organism development, indicating that SOX10 has a pivotal part in the differentiation of NCCs. It’s worth noting that, a significant enrichment among the nominal DEGs for genes implicated in inner ear development was found, as well as several genes connected to the inner ear morphogenesis. Based on the protein-protein interaction network, we chose four candidate genes that could be regulated by SOX10 in inner ear development, namely, BMP2, LGR5, GBX2, and GATA3. In conclusion, SOX10 deficiency in this WS subject had a significant impact on the gene expression patterns throughout NCC development in the iPSC model. The DEGs most significantly enriched in inner ear development and morphogenesis may assist in identifying the underlying basis for the inner ear malformation in subjects with WS.

    Die Karte zeigt die in den hydrologischen Szenarien Hydro-CH2018 berechneten prozentualen Veränderungen der Sommerabflüsse gegen Ende des Jahrhunderts (2070-2099) im Vergleich zur Referenzperiode (1981 – 2010) für ein Szenario ohne Klimaschutz (RCP8.5). Dargestellt ist jeweils der Median der gesamten Bandbreite aller Simulationen. Im Sommer zeigen die hydrologischen Szenarien eine mittlere Abflussabnahme von 30 - 50 % ohne Klimaschutz bis Ende des Jahrhunderts. Verantwortlich für diesen Rückgang sind verminderte Sommerniederschläge, höhere Verdunstung und die Abnahme des Gletscher- und Schneeschmelzwassers. Im Projekt Hydro-CH2018, das einen Themenschwerpunkt des National Centre for Climate Services (NCCS, www.nccs.admin.ch) bildet und vom BAFU geleitet wird, wurden je nach Fragestellung verschiedene, spezialisierte hydrologische Modelle eingesetzt.     Description

    The heterotrimeric G protein subunit Gsα couples receptors to activate adenylyl cyclase and is required for the intracellular cAMP response and protein kinase A (PKA) activation. Gsα is ubiquitously expressed in many cell types; however, the role of Gsα in neural crest cells (NCCs) remains unclear. Here we report that NCCs-specific Gsα knockout mice die within hours after birth and exhibit dramatic craniofacial malformations, including hypoplastic maxilla and mandible, cleft palate and craniofacial skeleton defects. Histological and anatomical analysis reveal that the cleft palate in Gsα knockout mice is a secondary defect resulting from craniofacial skeleton deficiencies. In Gsα knockout mice, the morphologies of NCCs-derived cranial nerves are normal, but the development of dorsal root and sympathetic ganglia are impaired. Furthermore, loss of Gsα in NCCs does not affect cranial NCCs migration or cell proliferation, but significantly accelerate osteochondrogenic differentiation. Taken together, our study suggests that Gsα is required for neural crest cells-derived craniofacial development.

    BackgroundCulture influences personal health habits and behavior, and healthcare personnel possess different views of cultural perspectives. Currently, an appropriate instrument to assess cultural competence in clinical practice is limited. The present study aimed to develop and examine the psychometric properties of the Nursing Cultural Competence Scale (NCCS) for clinical nurses.MethodsDeveloping and assessing the scale was carried out in two phases: Phase I involved a qualitative research to explore the themes of nurses’ cultural competence and instrument development; Phase II established construct validity of the scale using a sample of 246 nurses in Taiwan. Data from the questionnaire were analyzed using exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, internal consistency and test-retest reliability. Analysis results were used to determine the reliability and validity of the developed scale.ResultsThe results showed four factors including cultural awareness ability, cultural action ability, cultural resources application ability, and self-learning cultural ability were generated by exploratory factor analysis, and these factors explained 62.0% of total variance. Cronbach’s α of the Nursing Cultural Competence Scale was .88, and test-retest reliability correlation was .70.ConclusionsThe establishment of the tool will facilitate accurate monitoring of the cultural competence among nurses and nursing managers, which can inform the construction of nursing policies aimed at pledge cultural competence expansion.
