    This service provides a quarterly snapshot of the North Carolina state-maintained road network centerlines. Here, the route network is divided into three layers with symbolized Route Classifications listed below.State Maintained RoadsInterstateUS RouteNC RouteSecondary RouteRampsRest AreasOther State Agency RouteState Maintained Roads - Primary RoadsInterstateUS RouteNC RouteState Maintained Roads - InterstatesInterstateNorth Carolina’s route network is comprised of Interstate, US, NC, Secondary Roads, Ramps, and non-state maintained and projected roads required for federal reporting purposes. Route attributes include Route Class, Route Qualifier, Route Inventory, Route Number, Route Name, and County name. The Route ID attribute is an 11-digit composite route number, the identifier for the Dominant Route. It uniquely identifies routes statewide and should be used as the route identifier when performing LRS analysis using route/milepost referencing.NCDOT adopted the road centerline based Linear Reference System (LRS) Network as it’s official Enterprise LRS, to which multiple road inventory attributes are referenced along measured routes throughout North Carolina. These routes are classified as either System or Non-System routes. System routes are routes within the state-maintained road network, and are comprised of Interstates, US Routes, NC Routes, Secondary Routes, Ramps, and Non-System Routes. Non-System routes are routes that are typically not maintained by NCDOT, but instead by a local agency (county, city or MPO/RPO). The local agency is the source for updating these Non-System routes in NCDOT’s LRS.     This service provides vector polygon dataset defining the official boundaries of the 100 counties within North Carolina as well as the boundaries between North Carolina and the states which border North Carolina.The North Carolina county polygon boundary service provides location information for North Carolina State and County Boundary lines derived from the best available survey and/or Geographic Information System (GIS) data. Sources for information are the North Carolina Geodetic Survey (NCGS), NC Department of Transportation (NCDOT), United States Geological Survey (USGS), and field surveys conducted by licensed surveyors in North Carolina and neighboring states that have been approved and recorded in their respective counties. Some boundaries cannot be surveyed in cases where boundaries are coincident with river centers. North Carolina Geodetic Survey assists counties on a cooperative basis (NC General Statute 153A-18) in defining and monumenting the location of uncertain or disputed boundaries as established by law. Some counties have completed boundary surveys for at least a portion of their county boundary.     This service provides lines representing statewide road centerlines on publicly accessible roads segmented by a subset of road characteristics for the state road system. The state road system is comprised of Interstate, US, NC, Secondary Routes, and Ramps. Each arc/record is split where road characteristics change along a route. This data supports the Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA) data requirements for the Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS). HPMS is a national level highway information system that includes data on the extent, condition, performance, use, and operating characteristics of the nation's highways. States are required to submit an HPMS report to FHWA annually. This data also contains projected routes, generalized locations of routes that will become part of the National Highway System (NHS) when they are built.     This service provides visual representation of North Carolina Municipal Boundaries defined through the 2021-2022 Powell Bill.This service was created to assist governmental agencies and others in making resource management decisions through use of a Geographic Information System (GIS). Municipal boundaries are recognized as a base cartographic layer for location analysis. This data is current for the fiscal year 2021 - 2022. Municipal boundaries updated this year were based on towns that reported annexation changes to the NC Office of Secretary of State. This may not be representative of all towns with boundary changes this year.The Municipal Boundaries service is based on the Powell Bill Program maps for the 2021-2022 fiscal year. Municipalities in North Carolina participating in the Powell Bill Program are required to submit to NCDOT on a regular basis. These datasets include incorporated municipalities in North Carolina that participate in the Powell Bill Program. Boundaries of municipalities which do not participate in the Powell Bill Program are also included in this data.     With more than 44,000 Portable Traffic Count (PTC) Stations located throughout North Carolina, Traffic Survey has adopted a collection schedule. Please see our website: https://www.ncdot.gov/projects/trafficsurvey/for further details. The data in this file was digitized referencing the available NCDOT Linear Referencing System (LRS) and is not the result of using GPS equipment in the field, nor latitude and longitude coordinates. The referencing provided is based on the 2015 Quarter 1 publication of the NCDOT Linear Referencing System (LRS). Some differences will be found when using different quarterly publications with this data set. The data provided is seasonally factored to an estimate of an annual average of daily traffic. Instead:click the Download buttonclick Download parcels by county or all counties at oncescroll to the Direct Data Downloads section and download your dataThis digital geospatial dataset represents parcel boundaries with standard core attributes for a collection of parcel data from North Carolina county data producers and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. The Integrated Cadastral Data Exchange project transformed source datasets from county data producers to create a standardized dataset with consistent attributes (fields). The individual standardized county datasets were aggregated into a single dataset. The aggregated parcel dataset includes all 100 counties in North Carolina plus lands of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. The source geometry is retained as published by individual county data producers. This dataset includes attributes such as ownership, area in acres, assessed value, and other core cadastral attributes. Web services have both polygons (parcel boundaries) and points representing each property, placed at or near the geometric center, with the same set of attributes.See the NC OneMap parcels page for more information.

    Three sizes of hexbins were used to aggregate location-level broadband availability and funding data to provide details on the status of broadband deployment across North Carolina. Broadband service availability data from the FCC Broadband Data Collection, version 6, representing reported service as of 12/31/2024 analyzed to classify locations as:Served - fixed wireline service of greater than 100mb/s download and 20mb/s upload.Underserved - fixed wireline or terrestrial licensed fixed wireless service of greater than 25mb/s download and 3mb/s upload, but no fixed wireline service of greater than 100mb/s download and 20mb/s upload.Unserved - No fixed wireline of greater than or equal to 25mb/s download and 3mb/s upload.The total number of locations within each hexagon area, as well as the number of Served, Underserved, and Unserved locations is summarized in the attributes of the hexbin layers. In addition, the number of locations receiving funding through State, Local, and Federal funding programs in each hexbin is summarized in the hexbin layer. Eligible locations for the Completing Access to Broadband (CAB) program are defined as Unserved and Underserved locations that have not already received funding through another program. The total eligible locations within each hexbin is also provided in the attributes. The approximate size or area of each hexbin:Level 6 hexagons represent approximately 14 square miles per hexagon.Level 7 hexagons represent approximately 2 square miles per hexagon.Level 8 hexagons represent approximately 0.28 square miles per hexagon.

    The North Carolina Department of Administration, State Property Office in cooperation with the North Carolina Center for Geographic Information and Analysis have developed the boundary dataset for land owned by the State of NC. Examples of property included are Department of Transportation maintenance yards, state parks, state universities, historical sites, game lands managed by the Wildlife Resources Commission as well as property from additional departments assigned management responsibilities of real property. Data was prepared by digitization based on plats and legal descriptions of property.This dataset was prepared from State Property Office data for distribution through NC OneMap by the North Carolina Center for Geographic Information and Analysis. The Department of Administration (DOA), State Property Office (SPO) databases are continually updated as part of an ongoing effort to maintain an inventory of state-owned property.Digitization is completed with the NAD 1983 State Plane North Carolina FIPS 3200 coordinate system and transformed to WGS 1984 Web Mercator for web mapping. This may result in offsets from the original data due to the transformation process.

    These data were automated to provide an accurate high-resolution historical shoreline of Bogue Sound, NC suitable as a geographic information system (GIS) data layer. These data are derived from shoreline maps that were produced by the NOAA National Ocean Service including its predecessor agencies which were based on an office interpretation of imagery and/or field survey. The NGS attribution scheme 'Coastal Cartographic Object Attribute Source Table (C-COAST)' was developed to conform the attribution of various sources of shoreline data into one attribution catalog. C-COAST is not a recognized standard, but was influenced by the International Hydrographic Organization's S-57 Object-Attribute standard so the data would be more accurately translated into S-57. This service provides a quarterly snapshot of the North Carolina state-maintained road network centerlines. Here, the route network is divided into three layers with symbolized Route Classifications listed below.State Maintained RoadsInterstateUS RouteNC RouteSecondary RouteRampsRest AreasOther State Agency RouteState Maintained Roads - Primary RoadsInterstateUS RouteNC RouteState Maintained Roads - InterstatesInterstateNorth Carolina’s route network is comprised of Interstate, US, NC, Secondary Roads, Ramps, and non-state maintained and projected roads required for federal reporting purposes. Route attributes include Route Class, Route Qualifier, Route Inventory, Route Number, Route Name, and County name. The Route ID attribute is an 11-digit composite route number, the identifier for the Dominant Route. It uniquely identifies routes statewide and should be used as the route identifier when performing LRS analysis using route/milepost referencing.NCDOT adopted the road centerline based Linear Reference System (LRS) Network as it’s official Enterprise LRS, to which multiple road inventory attributes are referenced along measured routes throughout North Carolina. These routes are classified as either System or Non-System routes. System routes are routes within the state-maintained road network, and are comprised of Interstates, US Routes, NC Routes, Secondary Routes, Ramps, and Non-System Routes. Non-System routes are routes that are typically not maintained by NCDOT, but instead by a local agency (county, city or MPO/RPO). The local agency is the source for updating these Non-System routes in NCDOT’s LRS.
