This geospatial dataset represents the Neighbourhoods of the Regional Municipality of Niagara. For the purposes of statistical monitoring however, these neighbourhoods were defined based on Statistics Canada Dissemination Areas. The boundaries for these neighbourhoods were developed using the following criteria:

1. A neighbourhood had a total population of approximately 3000.
2. The neighbourhood boundaries align with natural (i.e. waterways, the Niagara Escarpment) and artificial (i.e. highways, tunnels) boundaries.
3. The neighbourhood boundaries align with 2011 Dissemination Areas (DA) as determined by Statistic Canada. (The dissemination Area is a small, relatively stable geographic unit that consists of approximately 400 to 700 people. DAs are the smallest standard geographic areas from which census data are disseminated by Statistics Canada.)
4. The neighbourhood boundaries make sense to community members.

A novel index for estimating the expense of housing and transportation in Canada has been developed, based on the Center for Neighborhood Technology’s Housing + Transportation (H+T®) Affordability Index. By combining Census data and data from other statistical programs we obtain a composite index (the H+T Index) for all Aggregate Dissemination Areas of Canada, except for Territories and First Nations. This table uses the methodology of table 46100090, calculated on Aggregate Dissemination Areas.

Population Numbers By New York City Neighborhood Tabulation Areas

The data was collected from Census Bureaus' Decennial data dissemination (SF1). Neighborhood Tabulation Areas (NTAs), are aggregations of census tracts that are subsets of New York City's 55 Public Use Microdata Areas (PUMAs). Primarily due to these constraints, NTA boundaries and their associated names may not definitively represent neighborhoods. This report shows change in population from 2000 to 2010 for each NTA.
