Please disregard the "Date Updated" field as it does not keep in sync with DWR's internal enterprise geodatabase updates. This feature class contains the location and site attributes of drilled wells in Nevada. Licensed well drillers submit well logs (reports) to NDWR. This information is entered into the Well Log database in SQL Server. Latitude and Longitude coordinates are displayed in GIS format for convenience in identifying wells. Two additional fields are calculated for specific capacity and transmissivity. Specific capacity is yield divided by drawdrawn. Transmissivity is specific capacity times 267. TwitterThis data set was derived from the Nevada Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Division of Water Resources (NDWR) well log data base (http://water.nv.gov/Engineering/wlog/wlog.cfm). This data set was developed from a version of the data base downloaded October 26, 2005 and reflects the wells entered into the data base up to that date. The data base generally contains logs for wells drilled since 1984, however, some basins have information about older wells. No attempts were made to edit or alter the coordinate or attribute information in the data base as presented by NDWR on the date of download.

TwitterThese data present a ground-water inventory of existing geospatial data and other information needed to determine the extent and characteristics of the aquifers in the Tahoe Basin. Geospatial and other data include well information from various local, state, and federal agencies; geophysical surveys; and results of available ground-water and geological studies. The compilation and development of a ground-water inventory geospatial database will assist the United States Forest Service in better assessing the present and future impacts on ground-water resources within the Lake Tahoe Basin.

This Well Completion Report geospatial dataset represents an index to a subset of records available from the California Department of Water Resources' (DWR) Online System for Well Completion Reports (OSWCR). This release contains water supply well records from Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, San Bernardino, Sutter, and Yuba counties. The USGS California Water Science Center GAMA project has provided additional attributes: top of open interval; number of open intervals; and various other identifiers such as public supply well number and USGS site number where they can be identified. In some cases, locations are georeferenced to finer resolution based on county APN or 911 geospatial datasets. The attributed information is linked to the redacted publicly available image when the link can be resolved. This dataset is for information purposes only. All attribute values should be verified by reviewing the original Well Completion Report. California Water Cod ...

TwitterThese reports review Fervo Energy's construction of a commercial enhanced geothermal system (EGS). Fervo has qualified full functionality of the system through production testing at commercially relevant operating conditions. The project site is located in a nearfield setting adjacent to an operating geothermal power station in north-central Nevada and is designed to deliver an uplift in high-temperature geothermal flow rates to increase the power capacity at the facility. The project involved drilling a first-of-a-kind EGS horizontal doublet well system consisting of an injection and production well pair within a high-temperature hard-rock geothermal formation. The lithology of the target reservoir is characterized as a mixed metasedimentary and igneous formation, comprised of phyllite, quartzite, diorite, and granodiorite, representative of the geology across the most prospective geothermal areas throughout the western US. This work included a 16-stage plug-and-perforate stimulation treatment which was the first of its kind in a high-temperature mixed metasedimentary and granitic formation in a fully horizontal doublet geothermal well.

TwitterThis resource is a metadata compilation for geothermal related resource records in data exchange content models submitted by Nevada as their deliverables under the AASG NGDS project (2010-2014) for inclusion in the NGDS Catalog. The content model defines the information that will be associated with a feature or observation type; the content model may be implemented in a variety of ways, but USGIN is currently implementing these interchange formats as GML Simple Features to be served by an OGC WFS. Data is available in an Excel workbook, ESRI Map Server, Web Map Service, and Web Feature Service with appropriate ResourceURLs listed for each record.

TwitterThe objective of this project is to use a multi-disciplinary, three-tiered approach to assess the geothermal resource and determine the feasibility of implementing a large-scale, direct-use facility for the Hawthorne Army Depot (HAD) and the various town and county facilities in Hawthorne, Nevada. This assessment directly targets a geothermal resource recently characterized by the Navy Geothermal Program Office (GPO) as part of a focused exploration and development campaign. This data batch contains: Zip file containing well and water data from 2002, including reports, isotope analysis, shallow well data, and data by well; Zip folder containing 2009 GPO well data including well logs, geochemistry, and mud logs; Compiled data from 2010 in excel and word format; 2010 Final data from TG, well HAD-1; Zip file containing PDFs and Excel files for wells Haw1, HAD1, HWADD2-3, HWAD4-5; Zip folder containing Word docs and images pertaining to final well reports and discussion.

In order to gather data to assess sedimentary geothermal feasibility in Nevada and Utah, state oil and gas and geothermal databases were serached for well files and well logs. Well data from the Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology oil and gas and geothermal databases was mined for the following areas in Nevada: Blackburn oil field, Marys River, North Willow Creek, Tomera Ranch, and Diamond Valley, all in the Elko Basin; Bacon Flat in Railroad Valley; and Steptoe Basin. For Pavant Butte in Utah, the State of Utah Division of Oil and Gas Well File and Well Log Searches were mined for well records in Millard County. Only wells close to Pavant Butte were mined for detailed information, but all Millard County wells are included in the database.
Well files were searched for temperature, permeability, pressure information, and formation depth and thickness. Temperature values are uncorrected. Locations for some wells were converted from township and range locations to approximate latitude and longitude using Google Earth and Earth Point grids to locate well pads. If no well pad could be located for a well, the center of the smallest section available (usually partsect) was used as the approximate location.

This digital data set defines the boundary of the hydrogeologic framework model (HFM) developed by IT Corporation (1996) for the U.S. Department of Energy Underground Test Area Phase I project. The boundary encompasses an approximate 53,000 square-kilometer region which is centered on the Nevada Test Site (NTS) and extends from Death Valley to east of the East Pahranagat Range, and from the Black Mountains to north of Penoyer and the southern part of the Railroad Valleys. The HFM was developed using geologic reports, maps, measured stratigraphic sections, 54 regional interpretive cross sections, approximately 700 lithologic well logs, and geophysical interpretations to define the spatial distribution and composition of 20 hydrogeologic units. The HFM formed the basis of the regional steady-state ground-water flow model of the NTS and surrounding areas developed by IT Corporation (1996b). Belcher and others (2002) integrated the IT Corporation (1996) and the D'Agnese and ...
