Since 1987, the University of Delaware has prepared GIS-based Water Resource Protection Area (WRPA) mapping for New Castle County that serves to protect the quality and quantity of ground and surface water supplies as part of the Unified Development Code (UDC). The WRPA program is enabled under Section 10 (Environmental Standards) of the UDC for New Castle County. The intent of the ordinances is to protect the quality and quantity of surface water and groundwater supplies through the protection of environmentally sensitive areas important to the state’s water supply. Under the UDC, all development within recharge, wellhead, Cockeysville formation, and reservoir water resource protection areas are required to meet maximum impervious cover thresholds (20–50%) and may require groundwater recharge facilities, water monitoring, and water management facilities. Presently, over 20 percent of New Castle County’s land area is protected by the WRPA provisions of the UDC. UDWRC's 2022 GIS based mapping updates represent the sixth revision to the maps. These maps depict several data layers that represent the four main WRPA categories in New Castle County, Delaware–Cockeysville Formation, Wellhead WRPA, Surface Water WRPA, and Recharge WRPA. The maps serve as a guide for development and assist decision-making in New Castle County, Delaware. The WRPA data will soon be available for download at Delaware FirstMap and PDF versions of the maps are available on the UDWRC website.

These data were automated to provide an accurate high-resolution historical shoreline of Delaware R., Vicinity of New Castle, DE, to Chester, PA suitable as a geographic information system (GIS) data layer. These data are derived from shoreline maps that were produced by the NOAA National Ocean Service including its predecessor agencies which were based on an office interpretation of imagery...

This data layer represents a compilation of local zoning districts and is based on zoning information compiled and digitized from each of Westchester's 43 municipalities between 2011 and 2024. It is important to note that it is not an officially adopted map of local zoning, but rather a depiction - or "snapshot" - of local zoning at the time of compilation. As such, this data layer is intended to be used for general reference purposes only. Since local zoning is constantly subject to change, inquiries regarding current status of local zoning districts, zoning designations of specific parcels, and exact use and bulk requirements should be verified at the local level by contacting the local planning or municipal clerk’s office. Selected updates were completed for this data layer in 2015 and 2016 for the municipalities of Rye City, Town of North Castle, Village of Mamaroneck and Port Chester. Updates for the City of Mount Vernon were completed in April 2021. In 2022/2023 Westchester County conducted an outreach project to obtain updated data. The following municipalities were updated during this time: Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Greenburgh, Lewisboro, Mount Pleasant, North Salem, New Castle, Village of Ossining, and Peekskill. Updates for Briarcliff Manor and Buchanan were made in 2024. Buchanan has one overlay district which is an exception because no other polygons should be overlapping.

Description
The PARCELS layer depicts mapped land parcels or real estate properties within Chester County. This data contains geometric representations capturing the general size, shape and location for all of the real estate properties, which can be mapped, on the County's land surface.

Market St Suite 5302 West Chester, PA 19380ResourceUpdate frequency of dataset: Weekly Last Update Date: August 2023Accuracy of attribute: Attributes are correct as per County of Chester Assessment DepartmentPositional accuracy of dataset:The PARCELS layer (and derived copies PARCEL_PUBLISH and PRCL_POLY) was originally created through a conversion process of digitizing hand drawn tax maps into digital form and orientating the tax map sheets and parcels to the features depicted in the 1993 orthophotos. These parcel polygon features were adjusted based on aerial photography dated April 7, 1993, and road centerlines, right-of-way lines and other physical features generated from the same photography. While the imagery has a pixel resolution of 1.5 square feet, a positional accuracy of +/- 5 feet and is designed for use at a scale of 1 inch = 200 feet, the resulting PARCELS horizontal accuracy varies from reasonably accurate in the best cases to less accurate in the worst cases. Subsequent and current map update processes include metes and bounds entry from subdivision and deed information, as well as property corner locations based on GPS points and the utilization of our newest imagery datasets. While the update processes include more accurate methods, the resultant overall accuracy is still dependent on the surrounding parcel fabric's varied accuracy. Note: There is a difference between land use code and zoning. Land management occurs via a land use designation which determines the land use code. This designation specifies how land and resources within it is managed. Zoning designations define how a property can be developed and used and it is controlled by each township/borough. This layer identifies corporate boundaries for all 43 municipal jurisdictions in Westchester County. Coverage originally obtained from New York State Office for Real Property Services (ORPS), and has been substantially modified to better align with current municipal tax parcel boundaries (WCparcels) based on a compilation of 2012 municipal tax parcel datasets. As all of Westchester's town's and cities compile their tax parcel databases independent of one another, there are situations were the tax parcels do not line up at the municipal borders, often resulting in gaps or overlaps of tax parcels at the border areas. This update sought to re-align boundaries to best follow the municipal boundaries as defined by the tax parcels, and often involved making the best possible spatial compromise where there were gaps or overlaps in tax map jurisdictions. It also reflects the 2011 municipal boundary change that resluted from the annexation of a tax parcel from the Town of Mount Pleasant to the Town of New Castle.
This layer represents footprints of transit parking facilities in the DVRPC region. Additionally, parking facilities at stations on SEPTA's Wilmington/Newark Line in New Castle County, Delaware (and several park & ride lots in that county) are included. The features in this layer were generated by digitizing all discernable parking areas that are associated with transit facilities using the best available aerial imagery.Included in this layer’s attribute table is a field that contains a link to the facilities’ webpage (if available). These pages are maintained by the transit provider who operates the facility. Please note, although efforts were made to ensure its completeness and accuracy, this layer is not a definitive inventory of the region's transit parking facilities and should not be considered as such.
