Publication Date: April 2025 2024 Parcel Data. Updated annually, or as needed. The data can be downloaded here: https://gis.ny.gov/parcels#data-download. This feature service has two layers: 1) NYS Tax Parcels Public, and 2) NYS Tax Parcels Public Footprint which contains polygons representing counties for which tax parcel polygons are available in the NYS Tax Parcels Public layer. County footprint polygons display when zoomed out beyond 1:37,050-scale. Tax parcel polygons display when zoomed in below 1:37,051-scale. The NYS Tax Parcels Public layer contains 2024 parcel data only for NY State counties which gave NYS ITS Geospatial Services permission to share this data with the public. Work to obtain parcel data from additional counties, as well as permission to share the data, is ongoing. To date, 36 counties have provided Geospatial Services permission to share their parcel data with the public. Parcel data for counties which do not allow Geospatial Services to redistribute their data must be obtained directly from those counties. Geospatial Services' goal is to eventually include parcel data for all counties in New York State. Parcel geometry was incorporated as received from County Real Property Departments. No attempt was made to edge-match parcels along adjacent counties. County attribute values were populated using 2024 Assessment Roll tabular data the NYS ITS Geospatial Services obtained from the NYS Department of Tax and Finance’s Office of Real Property Tax Services (ORPTS). Tabular assessment data was joined to the county provided parcel geometry using the SWIS & SBL or SWIS & PRINT KEY unique identifier for each parcel. Detailed information about assessment attributes can be found in the ORPTS Assessor’s Manuals available here: https://www.tax.ny.gov/research/property/assess/manuals/assersmanual.htm. New York City data comes from NYC MapPluto which can be found here: https://www1.nyc.gov/site/planning/data-maps/open-data/dwn-pluto-mappluto.page. We are also including tabular version that’s slightly more comprehensive (would include anything that didn’t join to the parcel basefile due to lot alterations or resubdivisions since 2023 and/or due to parcels comprised of condos). There are approximately 200 records that don't join to the spatial parcel file and some additional that are null in the spatial parcel file, altogether around 560 total. Tax parcel boundaries represent approximate property line location and should NOT be interpreted as or used in lieu of a survey, property boundary description, or a definitive municipal tax map. Property descriptions must be obtained from surveys or deeds. As this data was compiled from many different sources, discrepancies will exist along some municipal boundaries. Authoritative and approved tax maps for this municipality ONLY reside with the local assessor. For more information please contact the local assessor's office.
The official tax maps for the City of New York are maintained by the DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE Tax Map Office. Tax maps show the lot lines, the block and lot numbers, the street names, lot dimensions, and easements. This layer contains parcels data for Oswego County, NY as taken from the current digitized version of the county tax maps. Originally drawn by Stewart Mapping Services, Inc of San Antonio Texas in 1975, but with digital topology corrected by Oswego County's Department of Real Property Tax Services from 1996-present. Contains taxable parcels attributed with assessment data taken from local assessment rolls.Geography is based upon the taxable status date of March 1st, 2025. Assessment attributes are from the latest final assessment roll (2024) except ownership which is updated bi-monthly on Fridays to reflect the most current owners of record. Click here to retrieve a data dictionary for decoding fields.Note: The original tax maps that these files were digitized from only had an accuracy between 10-20 feet on ground. While every effort is made to maintain this geographic data in an accurate format, the lines drawn from this data are fundamentally informational in nature and are not equivalent to survey grade. Geoprocessing has been applied to this specific web layer to allow faster drawing of lines which can further degrade the accuracy of their geometry. Finally, these parcels are used to create county tax maps which have the sole use case of giving assistance for local municipal assessors in the fulfillment of their duties, there is no warranty (expressed or implied) for any other use.

Extensive land use and geographic data at the tax lot level in GIS format (ESRI Shapefile). Contains more than seventy fields derived from data maintained by city agencies, merged with tax lot features from the Department of Finance’s Digital Tax Map, clipped to the shoreline.

This dataset represents a compilation of data from various government agencies throughout the City of New York. The underlying geography is derived from the Tax Lot Polygon feature class that is part of the Department of Finance's Digital Tax Map (DTM). The tax lots have been clipped to the shoreline, as defined by NYCMap planimetric features. The attribute information is from the Department of City Planning's PLUTO data. The attribute data pertains to tax lot and building characteristics and geographic, political and administrative information for each tax lot in New York City. The Tax Lot Polygon feature class and PLUTO are derived from different sources. As a result, some PLUTO records do not have a corresponding tax lot in the Tax Lot polygon feature class at the time of release. These records are included in a separate non-geographic PLUTO Only table. There are a number of reasons why there can be a tax lot in PLUTO that does not match the DTM; the most common reason is that the various source files are maintained by different departments and divisions with varying update cycles and criteria for adding and removing records. The attribute definitions for the PLUTO Only table are the same as those for MapPLUTO. DCP Mapping Lots includes some features that are not on the tax maps. They have been added by DCP for cartographic purposes. They include street center 'malls', traffic islands and some built streets through parks. These features have very few associated attributes. To report problems, please open a GitHub issue or email DCPOpendata@planning.nyc.gov.DATES OF INPUT DATASETS:Department of City Planning - E-Designations: 2/5/2021Department of City Planning - Zoning Map Index: 7/31/2019Department of City Planning - NYC City Owned and Leased Properties: 11/15/2020Department of City Planning - NYC GIS Zoning Features: 2/5/2021Department of City Planning - Polictical and Administrative Districts: 11/17/2020Department of City Planning - Geosupport version 20D: 11/17/2020Department of Finance - Digital Tax Map: 1/30/2021Department of Finance - Mass Appraisal System (CAMA): 2/10/2021Department of Finance - Property Tax System (PTS): 2/6/2021Landmarks Preservation Commission - Historic Districts: 2/4/2021Landmarks Preservation Commission - Individual Landmarks: 2/4/2021Department of Information Telecommunications & Technology - Building Footprints: 2/10/2021Department of Parks and Recreation - GreenThumb Garden Info: 1/4/2021

Albany County, New York, tax parcel boundaries with limited property information.A tax map is a special purpose map, accurately drawn to scale showing all the real property parcels within a city, town or village. These maps are used to locate parcels and obtain other information required in assessment work. The size, shape and dimensions (or acreage) of a parcel may be found on a tax map. Tax maps are primarily used by local governments to maintain a current inventory of all parcels in a city, town or village.Tax parcel boundaries are maintained by the Albany County Real Property Tax Service Agency. Albany County provides the municipalities with digital GIS files on an annual basis. Therefore, all parcel boundary changes may not be reflected in this GIS file, depending on the revision date.Real Property Information, as recorded and managed by the local municipal assessor is updated annually using the final roll taxable status date March 1 by the County and also may not be reflecting the most current information, depending on the information revision date.
A 6-in resolution 8-class land cover dataset derived from the 2017 Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) data capture. This dataset was developed as part of an updated urban tree canopy assessment and therefore represents a ''top-down" mapping perspective in which tree canopy overhanging features is assigned to the tree canopy class. The eight land cover classes mapped were: (1) Tree Canopy, (2) Grass\Shrubs, (3) Bare Soil, (4) Water, (5) Buildings, (6) Roads, (7) Other Impervious, and (8) Railroads. The primary sources used to derive this land cover layer were 2017 LiDAR (1-ft post spacing) and 2016 4-band orthoimagery (0.5-ft resolution). Object based image analysis was used to automate land-cover features using LiDAR point clouds and derivatives, orthoimagery, and vector GIS datasets -- City Boundary (2017, NYC DoITT) Buildings (2017, NYC DoITT) Hydrography (2014, NYC DoITT) LiDAR Hydro Breaklines (2017, NYC DoITT) Transportation Structures (2014, NYC DoITT) Roadbed (2014, NYC DoITT) Road Centerlines (2014, NYC DoITT) Railroads (2014, NYC DoITT) Green Roofs (date unknown, NYC Parks) Parking Lots (2014, NYC DoITT) Parks (2016, NYC Parks) Sidewalks (2014, NYC DoITT) Synthetic Turf (2018, NYC Parks) Wetlands (2014, NYC Parks) Shoreline (2014, NYC DoITT) Plazas (2014, NYC DoITT) Utility Poles (2014, ConEdison via NYCEM) Athletic Facilities (2017, NYC Parks) For the purposes of classification, only vegetation > 8 ft were classed as Tree Canopy. Vegetation below 8 ft was classed as Grass/Shrub. Overview of the Data:This is a subset of tax parcel records for only parcels sold within the last three calendar years. Sales are recorded through deed transfers by the Monroe County Clerk and this data is shared with the City. The operational purpose of the tax parcel data set is to facilitate the calculation and collection of property taxes. Each publicly or privately owned property in the city of Rochester has an official tax parcel record. The assessed value of every tax parcel in the city is recalculated based on recent sales and professional appraisals every four years. Reassessment years provide the best snapshot period for historical comparison, and included on the open data portal are 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020. This feature layer shows the polygon boundaries for each of the over 65,000 tax parcels in the city, along with several fields from their parcel records that detail information about the property, including ownership, property type, and assessed values. How does the tax map system work in New York State? What does Section, Block, Lot refer to?Each county in the state has a tax map that includes all of the parcels in each of its cities, towns, and villages. The county tax map is subdivided into sections of even, modular units that are 8,000 feet by 12,000 feet. Each of these sections are then subdivided into blocks of up to 100 parcels. Blocks are typically formed by following natural boundaries (i.e., roads, rivers, railroad tracks). Lot numbers are assigned to each parcel in a block following a set pattern according to their location on the map. Each parcel is thus assigned a Section, Block, Lot (SBL) number for identification and tax administration purposes. For more information on this identification system, please see the General Guide for Tax Mapping in New York State, put out by the Property Tax Assessment Administration.Related Resources:For a searchable interactive mapping application, please visit the City of Rochester's Property Information explorer tool. Thanks to the following counties that specifically authorized Geospatial Services to share their GIS tax parcel data with the public: Albany, Cayuga, Chautauqua, Cortland, Erie, Genesee, Greene, Hamilton, Lewis, Livingston, Montgomery, NYC- Bronx, NYC- Kings (Brooklyn), NYC- New York (Manhattan), NYC- Queens, NYC- Richmond (Staten Island), Oneida, Onondaga, Ontario, Orange, Oswego, Otsego, Putnam, Rensselaer, Rockland, Schuyler, St Lawrence, Steuben, Suffolk, Sullivan, Tioga, Tompkins, Ulster, Warren, Wayne, and Westchester. Geometry accuracy varies by contributing county. This map service is available to the public.
