The State-owned tax parcel polygons in this file are the result of a best effort selection based on the Primary Owner and Additional Owner fields in the NYS Statewide Tax Parcels file, Geospatial Services data, State agency data, and online research. These same data and information are also the basis for a best effort assignment of a NYS agency name (listed in the NYS Name field) to most tax parcel polygons where the Owner Type field value is State. The NYS Name Source field consists of a code that describes how the State-owned designation and agency name were determined, if this was verified, and the means of verification, if applicable. This map service is available to the public. The State of New York, acting through the New York State Office of Information Technology Services, makes no representations or warranties, express or implied, with respect to the use of or reliance on the Data provided. This layer contains 2024 parcel data only for NY State counties which gave NYS ITs Geospatatial Services permission to share this data with the public. Work to obtain parcel data from additional counties, as well as permission to share the data, is ongoing. To date, 36 counties have provided the Geospatial Services permission to share their parcel data with the public. Parcel data for counties which do not allow the Geospatial Services to redistribute their data must be obtained directly from those counties. Geospatial Services' goal is to eventually include parcel data for all counties in New York State.

These data represent Mohawk River Watershed tax parcel boundaries. Data are meant for watershed planning purposes only. Mohawk River Watershed Coalition of Conservation Districts does not take responsibility for the overall content and/or spatial accuracy of the tax parcel data available for download on this page. You should always verify actual map data and information. The limitations and accuracy level of the data should be accounted for before using them in any analyses and their validity cannot be guaranteed. Parcel boundary data was acquired by county offices. Individual County and Town files were compiled to create a seamless coverage of Tax Parcels. Areas of overlap were eliminated by clipping to adjacent county boundaries. Attribute information of interest, property class code, residential development from 1945 to present (year built), sewer service code, and water service codes were obtained from the New York Office of Real Property Services (ORPS, accessed in November 2011). Parcel boundaries and attribute information from ORPS were joined based on the municipality code and print key. This data was collected by Stone Environmental, Inc. for the New York State Department of State with funds provided under Title 11 of the Environmental Protection Fund.View Dataset on the Gateway
Please note: this data is updated as of 2019.Overview of the Data:The operational purpose of the tax parcel data set is to facilitate the calculation and collection of property taxes. Each publicly or privately owned property in the city of Rochester has an official tax parcel record. This feature layer shows the polygon boundaries for each of the over 65,000 tax parcels in the city, along with several fields from their parcel records that detail information about the property, including ownership, property type, and assessed values. How does the tax map system work in New York State? What does Section, Block, Lot refer to?Each county in the state has a tax map that includes all of the parcels in each of its cities, towns, and villages. The county tax map is subdivided into sections of even, modular units that are 8,000 feet by 12,000 feet. Each of these sections are then subdivided into blocks of up to 100 parcels. Blocks are typically formed by following natural boundaries (i.e., roads, rivers, railroad tracks). Lot numbers are assigned to each parcel in a block following a set pattern according to their location on the map. Each parcel is thus assigned a Section, Block, Lot (SBL) number for identification and tax administration purposes. For more information on this identification system, please see the General Guide for Tax Mapping in New York State, put out by the Property Tax Assessment Administration.Related Resources:For a searchable interactive mapping application, please visit the City of Rochester's Property Information explorer tool. This is a vector file that represents tax parcels boundaries in Monroe County, New York. According to § 102. Definitions (of the Real Property Tax Law of New York State):"Parcel" means a separately assessed lot, parcel, piece or portion of real property, except publicly owned bridges and land used for street, road, highway or parkway purposes. A parcel shall not be bisected by a municipal corporation boundary line except that in a special assessing unit a parcel may be bisected by a school district or village boundary line. For more information on parcels, see the "Parcel" feature class in the RPS_Parcels feature dataset that is maintained by the Monroe County Real Property Services (RPS) department from which this layer was created. The difference between this parcel feature class and the RPS parcel feature class is the latter is updated daily by RPS staff by digitizing new parcel features and does not contain assessment roll data. This layer is recreated biannually by DES staff by joining RPS parcels with the same assessment roll data used to create the Base_County_Parcel_Centroids feature class.

Mohawk River Watershed Coalition of Conservation Districts does not take responsibility for the overall content and/or spatial accuracy of the tax parcel data available for download on this page. You should always verify actual map data and information. The limitations and accuracy level of the data should be accounted for before using them in any analyses and their validity cannot be guaranteed.Parcel boundary data was acquired by county offices. Parcel boundaries and attribute information from ORPS were joined based on the municipality code and print key.Source Information:Albany: Albany County Real Property Tax Services. 2010 Albany County, NY parcel boundaries derived from AutoCAD MAP 3D tax maps; Delaware: Delaware County Planning Department. The Department of Taxation and Finance annually produces a report pertaining to the exemptions from real property taxation in New York State. The data analysis includes an examination and summary of exemptions by exemption code for each municipality in the State. The summary data include the number of exemptions in each code, the assessed value of the parcels containing the exemption code and the exemption amount itself, as well as the estimated full value of both the parcels containing the exemption code and the exemption amount.
This layer identifies corporate boundaries for all 43 municipal jurisdictions in Westchester County. Coverage originally obtained from New York State Office for Real Property Services (ORPS), and has been substantially modified to better align with current municipal tax parcel boundaries (WCparcels) based on a compilation of 2012 municipal tax parcel datasets. As all of Westchester's town's and cities compile their tax parcel databases independent of one another, there are situations were the tax parcels do not line up at the municipal borders, often resulting in gaps or overlaps of tax parcels at the border areas. This update sought to re-align boundaries to best follow the municipal boundaries as defined by the tax parcels, and often involved making the best possible spatial compromise where there were gaps or overlaps in tax map jurisdictions. It also reflects the 2011 municipal boundary change that resluted from the annexation of a tax parcel from the Town of Mount Pleasant to the Town of New Castle.

Overview of the Data:The operational purpose of the tax parcel data set is to facilitate the calculation and collection of property taxes. Each publicly or privately owned property in the city of Rochester has an official tax parcel record. The assessed value of every tax parcel in the city is recalculated based on recent sales and professional appraisals every four years. Reassessment years provide the best snapshot period for historical comparison, and included on the open data portal are 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020. This excel file includes a record for each of the over 65,000 tax parcels with fields that detail information about the property, including ownership, property type, and assessed values. Publication Date: April 2025. Updated annually, or as needed. The data can be downloaded here: https://gis.ny.gov/parcels#data-download. This feature service only contains parcel data for NYS State-owned tax parcels. 2024 Parcel geometry was incorporated as received from County Real Property Departments. No attempt was made to edge-match parcels along adjacent counties. County attribute values were populated using 2024 Assessment Roll tabular data NYS ITS Geospatial Services obtained from the NYS Department of Tax and Finance’s Office of Real Property Tax Services (ORPTS).Tabular assessment data was joined to the county provided parcel geometry using the SWIS & SBL or SWIS & PRINT KEY unique identifier for each parcel. Detailed information about assessment attributes can be found in the ORPTS Assessor’s Manuals available here: https://www.tax.ny.gov/research/property/assess/manuals/assersmanual.htm. New York City data comes from NYC MapPluto which can be found here: https://www1.nyc.gov/site/planning/data-maps/open-data/dwn-pluto-mappluto.page.
