This dataset contains seasonally adjusted employment data for New York City. Data is reported at the industry level (in units of thousands) and aggregated to total nonfarm and total private levels. Updates are posted after the not-seasonally-adjusted data is published by the NYS Department of Labor – typically monthly but with irregularities due to annual benchmark revisions.

Population Numbers By New York City Neighborhood Tabulation Areas

The data was collected from Census Bureaus' Decennial data dissemination (SF1). Neighborhood Tabulation Areas (NTAs), are aggregations of census tracts that are subsets of New York City's 55 Public Use Microdata Areas (PUMAs). Primarily due to these constraints, NTA boundaries and their associated names may not definitively represent neighborhoods. This report shows change in population from 2000 to 2010 for each NTA. Compiled by the Population Division – New York City Department of City Planning.

The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC DOHMH) has shared vital statistics data (birth and mortality data) online. Birth data includes demographic information on the mother, including age, race, and education. Mortality data includes demographic information on the deceased, such as age, sex, race, and education. The publicly-available birth and death micro-SAS datasets provide aggregate data on the community district, zip code, and census tract levels. Researchers may also complete an application process to request line-listed and de-identified vital statistics data from NYC DOHMH.

The Low- to Moderate-Income (LMI) New York State (NYS) Census Population Analysis dataset is resultant from the LMI market database designed by APPRISE as part of the NYSERDA LMI Market Characterization Study (https://www.nyserda.ny.gov/lmi-tool). All data are derived from the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey (ACS) 1-year Public Use Microdata Sample (PUMS) files for 2013, 2014, and 2015. Each row in the LMI dataset is an individual record for a household that responded to the survey and each column is a variable of interest for analyzing the low- to moderate-income population. This dataset includes all valid felony, misdemeanor, and violation crimes reported to the New York City Police Department (NYPD) for all complete quarters so far this year (2017). For additional details, please see the attached data dictionary in the ‘About’ section.

New York City Population By Community Districts

The data was collected from Census Bureaus' Decennial data dissemination (SF1) for the years 1970, 1980, 1990, 2000 and 2010.

Resident population of New York State and counties produced by the U.S. Census Bureau. Estimates are based on decennial census counts (base population), intercensal estimates, postcensal estimates and administrative records. Updates are made annually using current data on births, deaths, and migration to estimate population change. Each year beginning with the most recent decennial census the series is revised, these new series of estimates are called vintages.

In 2021, nearly six percent of the total population of New York was uninsured. On the other hand, the larger part of New York's population had employer-sponsored coverage. This statistic depicts the health insurance status distribution of the total population in New York in 2021.

Note: As of 1/13/24, this dataset is no longer updated. This dataset reports daily on the number of people vaccinated by New York providers who have received a dose of the updated COVID-19 vaccine authorized on September 12, 2023. New York providers include hospitals, pharmacies, and other providers registered with the State to serve as points of distribution.

This dataset is created by the New York State Department of Health from data reported to the New York State Immunization Information System (NYSIIS). County-level vaccination data is based on data reported to NYSIIS by the providers administering vaccines. Residency is self-reported by the individual being vaccinated. This dataset includes limited data on vaccines administered through Federal entities (Veterans Health Administration) or performed outside of New York State to New York residents and will not be reflective of every dose administered to New York State residents in those settings. It does not include residents of New York City. NYSIIS data is used for county-level statistics.

These data represent a lower-bound estimate on updated COVID-19 vaccination totals. With the end of the COVID-19 public health emergency, COVID-19 vaccination records are no longer required to be submitted to NYSIIS for adults 19+. Reporting remains mandatory for children 18 and under.

In 2023, there were ******* male and ******* female residents under the age of five living in New York City. This shows the city's increasing population, as there were only ******* male residents within the age range of 65 to 69 during the same year.

The dataset includes CHHA and LTHHCP information at the reporting agency level of the total number of patients, cases, and discharges for the reporting year.

CHHAs/LTHHCPs provide part time, intermittent, skilled services which are of a preventative, therapeutic, rehabilitative, health guidance and/or supportive nature to persons at home. Home health services include nursing services; home health aide services; medical supplies, equipment, and appliances suitable for use in the home; and at least one additional service that may include physical therapy; occupational therapy; speech pathology; nutritional services; and medical social services.

The purpose of collecting data from service providers is to obtain their demographic information as well as past operational statistics like volume, patient census, types of services provided, or workload information. This data is self-reported annually.
